The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 120

She really should have a new car, for the new life she was planning on for herself. When she left this pack, she wouldn’t have the responsibility of being a pack’s accountant, and baving the stress of keeping a pack afloat. She also wouldn’t have the responsibility of being a Luna to a pack either, though she did like looking after her pack members.

But that would be something that she could leave behind her when the time came. Her unit and the Elders she knew were all good people and would take care of the pack members, step up if Christy was still here and couldn’t do the job; was still too selfcentered to want to help others.

She was going to reinvent herself and take her life all the way back to her younger years, and live her life without the burden of debts piled up on top of her, or the need to save a pack.

She would just be a shewolf attending a university degree and mingling with humans for the most part. She might even live on campus if she could get it, something she’d not been able to do, even before they’d taken over. The wolves here didn’t have the opportunity to study anywhere they liked, only local to the pack, they had to commute or their families had to pay for the oncampus living part of their degree

themselves.

She’d not really minded; it was only a onehour commute, and she’d gotten to do it with her friends and then Anthony himself after he’d come home from Alpha College. But now she could probably enjoy the oncampus living experience. It was something she thought to look forward to and made her smile just a little even though it was still a good seven months or more away.

It gave her something to actually really look forward to and have a goal to achieve that wasn’t packrelated. Was solely for herself and no one else. She was going to be selfish for once, and do it regardless of what anyone else thought. That would also create a full change of scenery to match her new

lifestyle.

Though she also knew at the same time that old habits died hard, because even as she was thinking about a new car and a new degree, she was also already calculating how to save money on the cost of those things. The tradein of her old car, and possible scholarships for her university degrees

Her mind was wondering now just how much seven years of university was going to cost her and if she should choose the university based on the price of the law degree, not the rank of the university. As long as she studied properly and got good grades, applied herself, what university she attended didn’t really

matter.

Then her brain kind of thought about how much money she had in the bank right now and how much she could save between now and then, that she knew from past experience that a bachelor of arts of science was cheaper than Law School, and she had to attend that first, so she would need to save even while doing her prerequisite course to get into law school.

But she’d been the one to want to study accounting and knew that was why her brain was ticking. That had been her job of choice and so financial things just kind of came naturally to her. She liked numbers; always

had. Though before finding herself mated to Anthony, she’d wanted to work in the human world at a big accounting firm. That ship had been set to sail at 19 when scenting out Anthony, and had sailed away the moment his parents had died and left them with a pack drowning in debt right as she’d completed her degree, and she’d become the reigning Luma.

She had to shake off the thoughts of the past, and the thoughts of the future as well. She still had a while here inside this pack, but she already knew she was going to save every penny between now and when she left. She didn’t exactly know when it was going to be, but she’d make sure she had funds when she left.

Pau! sat down at the table and slid a tablet across the table towards her. I didn’t see anything like what you said buthe sighed a little. Christy did go down to where your suite is and put a fresh pillow there for Anthony as if she was accepting of him sleeping by your room.” He told her.

Mischa raised an eyebrow. Did you go up there yourself?she asked as she picked the tablet up to watch the footage herself.

I did. It’s odd.He nodded. I think you are right because of the deep musk to her scent. But it’s dulled down at the same time.”

Mischa nodded; that was what Laud thought too. She pressed play on the video, and it showed Christy walking down the hall towards Mischa’s suite. A little after breakfast, the time stamp showed. There was a pillow in her hand. It wasn’t even all pressed to her body, as if she was trying to put her scent on it. She just carried it at her side, as if she was uncaring of it.

She didn’t stop at Mischa’s door or look at it from what she could tell, she was just walking along scrolling through her phone as if she didn’t have a care in the world. She walked right past Mischa’s door without hesitation. Picked up Anthony’s pillow off the floor where Anthony had obviously left it.

Then she walked further down the hall to place the clean one on the hall table at the end of the hall, not on the ground, looked to be just giving him a clean fresh pillow. She didn’t stop, just placed it and turned and walked away once more, still scrolling on her phone. There was nothing suspicious about it.

She slid the tablet back across the table to Paul as she thought about it, the time of day that has

happened and what she’d seenShe scent marked the pillow in her suite, and that’s why it wasn’t as strong as it would be if she did it down there near my door or in the hallway. She mindlinked to him after thinking it through.

Likely so, because it would be picked up by your omega Anne, if Christy actually scent marked that hallway or anywhere near your suite. It would have been considered offensive and something that I think Anne would have reported to Anthony or Simone, I imagine, considering you were not inside the pack, and Anthony was seen and known to be sleeping outside your room the past two nights.’

Mischa could only agree with him. Anne would likely have messaged her about it or called her even, taken offense to it on her behalf, seeing all that had gone on and how many times she’d moved to get away from Christy herself.

It also wasn’t something anyone should do in and or around another’s home, it was considered rude,

unless it was your own Mate’s suite or home. Some Mates did that when their bond wasn’t solidified, and they were waiting on a mating alliance agreement to be sorted out, to warn others their Mate had a Mate, but didn’t bare filigree, because no marking and mating had happened at that point.

Usually, the male trying to keep other males away from his Mate, because he wanted to claim her, but for one reason or another, it hadn’t happened. Scent marking also told the Mate they were wanted by the one they weren’t claimed by as well. Though she’d seen it piss a few she wolves off before as well.

Shewolves that had to choose between two mates from different packs, where one male tried to keep the other away from her. Started fights because she was the one to make the decision, not them, so scentmarking her home had caused only more arguments and made the choosing, take even more time than it normally would have as well.

Agreed.’ She answered him, I trust Anne.’

What are you two talking about?Carol interrupted the private conversation.

She looked at her unit and stated, Christy was down near my suite today. This morning Paul just relayed

to me.”

What for?Letti frowned. There is no need for her to be near your suite, ever. It’s at the complete opposite end of the building, away from everyone else, not even any Elders are down there, just the other room for the Wolfen Council members is all.

That is why I had Paul check on it, check the footage of the hallway,Mischa answered them. She changed Anthony’s pillow for one of her own, I imagine. One that smells strongly of herself.

They were all looking at her with varying frowns on their faces, and she waved it off. Let it go, she didn’t even touch my door or look at it from all I saw. Is currently on the outs with Anthony, I believe, and is trying to get him to go to her. I dare say, this was her goal

Then she turned to Paul. Anthony?she questioned.

Hmm, that’s a whole other thing right now. Whatever you said more than ticked him offDestroying his

r suite I believe. Kendrick and Dereck are up there in the hallway waiting to contain him if need be,Paul

told her.

Who’s he mad at, himself or Christy? I don’t think it’s me currently, not with all I said, she stated.

Which was?

That Christy actively denied my right to speak with Anthony when I called and, for all he knew, I could have been in danger and needed rescuing, but he was too busy fucking her to care. That him always letting Christy have control of his phone could have gotten me killed. That I believe she was hoping for that very thing,” She told him simply, honestly.

She found all eyes upon her, and she shrugged. I’m not wrong, wasn’t even wrong about what she did to plead she forgot to tell him I called. Knelt before him and put her mouth to work. She rolled her eyes. It’s all she’s good for, I guess. But then I told him I’d call Alpha Nicholas instead of him if I was in trouble,

because at least I know he’ll take the call and Lucinda would never stop it being put through.”

Paul leaned back in his chair and shook his head, looked a little amused to her. “Laid it out and topped it off with a cherry, I see. He chuckled softly.

Mm, he was trying to be all apologetic but didn’t understand the ramifications, so I told him in no uncertain terms what they could have been. Drew him a picture he couldn’t miss and then basically told him I would never rely on him but would an allied Alpha, and he knows how close Nicholas and I are.

That thought brought her to realize she’d not given Nicholas a headsup. She took her phone out and texted him. Nicholas, you could get an irate phone call from Anthony. I told him I would call you if I was in trouble and not him from now on. Seeing as Christy wouldn’t put my call through to him, then pleaded ignorance to my having called. I called him and her out. He’s currently in a rage, at who?is anyone’s guess. Sorry, I should have put that in my email kind of slipped my mind. Mischa
