She’d not seen Anthony or Christy after her return to the pack or gone off to her suite for the night, and she’d even managed to have breakfast and make her way to her office without seeing either of them. She was in the middle of Simone handing over what she’d scheduled for the rest of the week, when Anthony walked into her office; came in from the connecting door to his office.
“Mischa, please come into my office. Christy has something she needs to say to you. Simone, you as well.” Then he turned to her unit. “Ladies, come bear witness as well. I have requested that all the Elders also be present, and they are all on the way.” He looked to Simone. “I didn’t link you into that because I knew you were in here with Mischa and the girls.”
She looked at him as he stood there. He was she thought all Alpha in this moment and dressed the part as well. That was interesting to her. He was looking right at her, and he waved a hand towards the open door. “I’ve not spoken to Christy since your return, Mischa, but I have also heard she’s not yet come to you, and apologized to you as she was told she had to; when you came home.”
Mischa shrugged it off. “Unless she’s forced to, she won’t, it’s not in her.” Mischa stated simply, she knew that girl would try and get away with not doing it, blip over it if no one reminded her to do it or told her to, or dragged her off to make her apologize.
“Debbie is going to bring her down,” Anthony stated, and she just nodded and finally got up from her seat and walked through into his office. She sat down on the couch as was directed to by Kendrick, and all her women sat there alongside her. That was a full show of who the Luna and the Luna’s Unit was. A display she thought of the hierarchy of the pack. That was going to tick Christy off she thought amused just a
little.
Anthony’s office, she could see, was set up for a full formal meeting, and chairs had been brought in for all the Elders. Anthony’s was placed between them to her right, as if to preside over what was about to go down, and as she did the math she realized they were one chair short. Christy wasn’t going to be given a
seat.
Though if he’d not spoken to Christy since returning to the pack from picking Mischa up at the airport, that she–wolf was about to be fully blindsided as to what was going on. A full formal meeting, including the Elders, had been called about what she’d done and, from the look of it, by Anthony himself.
It appeared to her as though Anthony was actually truly mad at Christy for likely the first time ever, during their mate bond, and he was out to punish her himself. A part of her sighed internally as she wondered if this was going to be the breaking of their bond. Sighed because even though a part of her thought they deserved to suffer that the feeling of their bond breaking, because of how very selfish they were, at the same time she didn’t really want that to come about; here and now.
Not when her plan was close to coming into fruition. Hearing what had happened between Christy and Anthony while she’d been away from the pack was much more satisfying a thing as punishment for them both, hearing they were at odds, was more amusing to her than them just being rejected, and Christy

Now that she knew what her being gone from this pack, but still being bound to Anthony did to him; made
him feel as if their own bond was being severed slowly and painfully. That he’d turned his anger on Christy
for it. That she actually thought was a fair and accurate punishment, seeing as it was Christy that got
between them.
It was a punishment that, for her, meant killing two birds with one stone. She’d told Gretta that was what she wanted to do, and she’d managed to do it without even trying to.
She watched as the Elders all walked into the office and sat down, alt bar Debbie, who was with Christy attending those Luna Lessons, seeing as it was Thursday, likely been arranged for her to come down last with Christy, to make that impression on her about how much trouble she was in.
Debbie walked into the office ahead of Christy two minutes later, and she watched as Christy came to a standstill just inside the doorway. As she took in just who was in this room and how it had been set up. She should think herself lucky it wasn’t in the war room, Mischa thought absently.
By the look on her face, she had not been expecting all of them to be in this office and likely Debbie had

all Alpha at that moment, not her Mate, but the pack Alpha, who was displeased at that. Not something she saw him do all that often, hardly ever where Christy was concerned.
“Come into the office, Christy.” Anthony addressed her, and
“W… What’s going on?” Christy asked hesitantly.
“You’re here to formally apologize to Mischa, as I told you that you would be doing when she got home. Yet I now know you’ve not done that or even attempted to do so,” Anthony stated, and walked over to her and curled a hand around her upper arm and brought her into the office so he could close the door behind
her.
He walked Christy right to the middle of where they all sat and let go of her arm, then walked over and sat down in his seat, and Christy looked about once more, and realized she wasn’t going to be able to sit. It kind of meant she was on trial here in this office, Mischa thought, and she saw Christy register it herself.
“I’ve simply not had the chance to, is all. I got up, had breakfast and went right to Debbie’s office to attend Luna Lessons,” Christy stated.
“Last night? What was your excuse for not hunting Mischa down and apologizing once she was back inside the pack? I believe we were inside it by seven thirty, and she had dinner in the packhouse dining hall with her unit all around her and Paul even joined them. Though for a different reason. We’ll get to that later, “Anthony muttered.
Mischa looked to Paul, and he shrugged. “Yes, I sent him the footage and told him what I smelled by your suite that you yourself smelled and reported to me, wanted checked.” He stated into the office for all to
hear.

Many egcs were on her and then Paul, and she saw Christy frown slightly, but say nothing, she couldn’t without incriminating herself.
“Wait, explain that,” May stated. “What exactly was smelled by Mischa’s suite? She’s not even been here for a week, so there should be nothing but Anne or… Anthony himself.”
“Mischa care to explain it?” Anthony offered.
She looked at him and then at Christy. “When I arrived home, I returned to my suite to find Christy’s scent right there at my door, only it had a deep musk to it. Laud stated it was likely from scent marking.”
“I never scent marked your door or suite. All I did was take a fresh pillow down there from my room for Anthony because he was sleeping outside your room. That was all I did. I didn’t touch your door or even stop or so much as look at it,” Christy stated.
“That is what the footage shoes.” Mischa nodded. “Because I had Paul pull it up, because scent marking another’s is offensive. I wanted it investigated as to what and when it happened.”
“I never did that.” Christy bit out. “Don’t try and frame me.”
“I’m not,” Mischa commented. “Just wanted an explanation is all as to why you were even down where my
suite was.”
“I investigated it,” Paul stated. “Had the tech team pull the footage and find out when Christy was down their, while I walked up there to smell the hallway. Laud was not wrong in what she smelled. My own beast agreed there was a dulled–down scent marking smell of Christy up there. At no other time did she go to Mischa’s room. Just that once with that pillow. The pillow was scent marked. I took it to Anthony this morning, and he confirmed it himself.”
“Explain that for all here in the office,” Anthony asked Christy directly.
Christy took in a breath and nodded. “It was a pillow from my own suite, nothing more, from my bed, so I guess it has my scent marking all over it. I never thought about that for even a moment, just wanted to give you a clean pillow, and nothing more.”
“That’s it?” May asked.
“Yes,” Christy nodded. “I guess I didn’t think about what it might smell like, being that it was mine. I didn’t even know Mischa was coming back to the pack at the time I walked it down there. It wasn’t intentional. Just.” She shrugged. “Didn’t think it through properly, I guess. But I also don’t have access to the Alpha Suite to get one of Anthony’s pillows to put there either. So where else was I supposed to get him a clean, fresh pillow from.”
Mischa didn’t care for the explanation, “Why do you need to scent–mark your own belongings? Inside your suite. Do you think someone’s going to steal from your suite? So you need to be able to track it down and get it back.”
Christy shrugged. “I don’t know, I just do it sometimes.”

Everyouc inside this office knew there was no reason to scent mark anything of your own inside your own. home unless you were trying to surround your lover in it to keep them drawn to you. Hell, even Christy would know that, and it’s exactly why she did it. To overlay her scent on Mischa’s things gradually over
time.
It’s probably what she’d done when in the Alpha Suite until Anthony no longer registered her scent in there at all, and so forgot it was where she was supposed to live. That was how Christy had likely started to eclipse her bit by bit in the very beginning.
“Stop doing that, there is no need for it.” Anthony muttered. “Mischa, are you offended by what you
smelled?”
Mischa waved it off uncaringly. “No, it was just odd to me and I wanted to understand it. Now I do, and I’ve seen the footage, it matches everything Christy says. I don’t believe she did it on purpose.” Mischa dismissed it, let her have this one. Mischa no longer cared what Christy did, she was just curious about it nowadays. “Let it go, an innocent mistake anyone could make.”
