She sat and watched as Christy stood there fuming before them all. She couldn’t actually defend herself against anything either Anthony or Debbie had said, and she’d just been outed for not wanting any Gamma inside this room, because she’d been offered all of them and still refused to choose one, which between the lines stated she didn’t want one at all in this room.
“I said I was going to apologize, that I just didn’t get the chance to.” Christy grated out, “You’re all always on me, before I get the chance to do anything myself… Sometimes I just need a minute to go and do things at my own pace. But you all can’t give me that. You are so impatient in your catering to Mischa that you don’t give me a single chance to do anything on my own.”
“Alright, you say you want to apologize, then go ahead, Mischa is right there, what is stopping you. We’ve been in this office for…” Anthony looked at his watch. “Almost 20 minutes now and yet, have you held up your hand and stopped this meeting to state your apology, or have you stood here before us all, and just tried to lay blame on everyone else, as to why you’ve not yet seen Mischa or had the opportunity to apologize to her?” he counted.
“What’s the bloody point now? It’ll just seem as if I’m being forced by all of your hands to do it. You’ve put me in a position where, no matter what I do, it looks as if I was never going to apologize, and you’re forcing me to against my will. How is that an actual apology?” Christy bit out.
Mischa smiled now, just a little, so the girl did have a brain in that head of hers at times, because yes, being made to apologize like this was no different to having to do it in front of the entire pack after their last major run in. She also knew Christy wouldn’t mean it, and as her eyes moved towards Paul he rolled his, for her to see he

“You,” Christy went on, “Don’t even believe me that asked Mischa to come home. That I texted her personally about your not being in a good state, because she wasn’t here. I told you, Anthony, I had pleaded with her to come home on your behalf.
“What did you do? You snarled at me that you didn’t believe me, that you wouldn’t, in fact, believe me unless Mischa told you herself that I did… But did she tell you I asked her to come home, that I couldn’t settle you, our Mate. Noo, she didn’t.
“She hid that fact from you, to sow discord between you and I, and it worked. She’s here in this room, ask her now in front of all the units, the Elders, me, if I lied to you. If she hid it from you. I’ve got the proof that I did on my phone. Even if she erased it on her end, I, as the sender, still have it.” Christy turned and looked
at her now.
Mischa understood Christy was trying to turn the tables and have all eyes turn on her and away from Christy herself. Mischa wasn’t so stupid as to deny it. “She did,” Mischa stated with a shrug. “I didn’t hide that you did, told Letti you’d messaged me even, the day before I came home. Anthony has simply not asked me if you did. I didn’t bring it up was all, saw no need to.
“Did you, Christy?” Mischa smiled at her. “Let Anthony hear my response to your message. You could have
held it out to him to hear as proof you’d texted me. I did leave a voice message; that was over a minute lung. That would have been enough for you to clear your own name. Why didn’t you play it for him?” she asked right back.
Christy stood glaring at her now, and Mischa smiled at her. “I’ve got no secrets, Christy, play it for Anthony now, to hear my response to your message. Let everyone in this room hear it. Anthony and I are at full odds right now. He knows that, which is why he came home angry and in a rage.
“Because I laid it all out for him. What I believe happened not only before I left, but while I was away. The reason you’re actually in this room to apologize to me for, that you answered his phone and refused to put the call through to him, said he was busy showering, not what I’d call busy, but it was that very phone call
you…
“Oh! I’m going to say, you intercepted on purpose. That saw you get caught out in your own lie by him. I simply laid out all the possible ramifications of you answering his phone, and then declining, of your own accord, to put me through to him in full. As I saw it, and how I felt about it,” Mischa told her.
“There were no ramifications. You’re here inside this pack, you just wanted to see me get in trouble, be at odds with Anthony and you set it all up, so it worked, and why? Because you hate me.” Christy grated out.
“I do hate you.” Mischa admitted ‘We’ll never be friends, Christy, not for a single millisecond, so your words to Anthony about trying to help us all get along. You can take them back. I don’t believe it was ever your intent to be my friend and I don’t want that. You and I are two very different people and will never ever coincide, not even amicably anymore,” Mischa told her how it was going to be from now on.
playing at trying to be a good she–wolf and that you’re trying to get along with me, “You’re the only one s but really! Are you? That one phone call you answered and decided not to put through, was I believe, after all I’ve heard in this room now, after you told Anthony you were trying to get along with me, to bring us all
together.
“Was it not? Does that very thing line up and see your words or actions as believable here and now? Or that you’re not trying to get between us? Or does it show your own Mate, that you actively stopped me from speaking to him. Then lied about why I called when he finally found out and confronted you… I left no message for Anthony that day.” She outed that girl who’d seem to have forgotten the timeline of her
actions.
Lies were always hard to keep track of, and one rolled into another, it was hard to know who you’d told which one to and when after so many were said.
“Anyone in this room can order the truth from me, I’ll accept one of the Elders or even Anthony himself rolling his aura at me to get to the very bottom of it. Won’t fight it… will you, Christy?” Mischa asked her directly.
Then she pulled her phone out and accessed her messages. “Let me read your message and play my response for all to hear…” she paused as something else occurred to her, Christy could dig herself a deeper hole in this very minute if she had deleted that recording. “Or would you like to read your message to me, and play the recording off your phone, so everyone knows I haven’t edited my end, to… set you up?”

She saw anger flare in Christy now. Everyone saw it, she was being called out and, no matter which way she jumped, she was going to lose, likely hadn’t expected Mischa to out her, and change things up. Had she forgotten she’d told her the gloves were off, that she needed to up her own game.
This, Christy was just coming to understand was a new level to the game. “Or did you delete my response, Christy?” Mischa asked, putting that she–wolf on the spot.
“I did not.” Christy bit out.
Mischa wondered if she was just hanging onto it, trying to find the right moment to use it was all. “You reading it, or am I?” Mischa asked once more with a smile just for Christy, that she–wolf had thought she had been forcibly backed into a corner by Anthony, only to realize he wasn’t even part of Mischa’s plan at all, she didn’t need him to back Christy into a corner, she could do it all on her own.
Christy stood glaring at her and then yanked her phone out and stated, “I’ll read my own message out and play your response, which you didn’t even give for a full day.”
Mischa nodded. “I wasn’t even answering Anthony’s messages, so why would i even consider answering yours?” she shrugged uncaringly, and she didn’t care.
Christy accessed her messages and took a breath in, to seemingly calm herself to read the message. This was going to be interesting, she thought.
Christy read the first line, and her voice was almost pleading as she spoke the words. ‘Mischa, you need to
call Anthony.’
Then she stated with an

imploring tone, ‘I can’t settle him or his beast. It was almost as if she was asking
Then her voice softened even further to a more gentle note, as if she was worried about Anthony’s state. ‘ Stop ignoring your Mate, it’s not only rude but… actively hurting him.’ and there was a little tearfulness in those last three words.
Mischa shook her head and clapped her hands three times in a slow, mocking manner, “Well, that ain’t how I took it, all the tearful pleading was obviously not something I could discern through your words and grammar of your text. I took it as you were telling me what to do. That you were yelling at me, that I was being rude and hurting Anthony on purpose.
“When really all I was doing was giving you time alone with him. Something I thought you’d be thankful for you know having a solid week without having to compete with me for his attention, even though he’d not seen me for the two weeks prior to my going away.” Mischa stated “Hit the play button on my response to your very text and everyone in this room will see exactly how I took your message.
“Which was definitely not all heartfelt and tearful. If you actually wanted to convey that very thing, you should have recorded your message, so I understood it clearly, that you were distressed, not being arrogant and rude, complaining to me about my absence causing you trouble in your bond with Anthony. Which is how I took it.” She looked to those in the room.

“Oh, and I believe that was the first message Christy has sent to me in over a year and a half, and with all that happened in the past year and a half, why on earth would I take a written message, as you pleading with me and crying, what I read was and heard in my head was your angry–annoyed voice yelling at me Mischa, you need to call Anthony‘ she rapped out into the office herself how she’d taken it.
“That you were making a demand of me, which set the tone of my response was all.”
