“I do not hide how I feel about you. I told Anthony long ago, that I don’t like you, that you’re nothing but a whiny cry-baby, who runs away and fakes, leaving him to see him go rogning after you at every turn.
“Play at you feeling inferior to me, solely to evoke his sympathy and fear of losing you, only I don’t and won’t play that game. I laid out my cards in full and am honest. Point blankly so, regardless of how it makes Anthony feel. So, I’m not at all concerned about him hearing my response to your message.
“I also seriously doubt that it will come as a shock to him, or even to anyone in this very office right now,” she smiled at Christy. “They’ve all heard, at one point in time or another, over the past six months, exactly how I feel. About yourself, about Anthony and how I was treated by the two of you, after my last heat,”
Christy looked about the room, from Anthony to his unit, to the Luha’s unit, and then all the Elders sitting in here, and only now did she realize she was still out of the loop on many things, that being Mischa was out there telling everyone exactly how she felt, wasn’t even hiding it.
“Nothing has changed or, well, I guess moved in the direction Anthony wants it to since then. Are you unhappy, Christy, that you’ve gotten our Mate all to yourself once more? Even though you yourself stated it wasn’t what you wanted, that you’d never get between us again.
“That, this right here and now, what you did, shows you have come between us and actively did it on purpose, and you’ve been caught out.” Mischa shook her head. “I’ve never, not once hidden from any in this room what I believed happened after my last heat, told Anthony himself, that what you did and how you did it, could only come from you hating me.
“That I believe you do hate me as much as I hate you. So, please press play for all in this room to hear how I naturally responded to your aggressiveness that you show to me all the time,” Mischa stated.
Christy stood there now, silent for a long minute, then muttered, “What’s the point, none of you will now believe me. That my intent was to ask you to come home and help with our Mate.”
“I wonder why that would be. With those traitorous tendencies.” Mischa shrugged and then hit play on her phone for all in this room to hear her recorded message to Christy’s text message; seeing as Christy had just opted not to at all.
“I’m rude and hurting him?… but it’s okay for you to get Anthony to ignore me, be rude to me and hurt me all the time!… is my not being there affecting your bond with Anthony, Christy?… Getting a taste of your own medicine are we! Only you find it bitter and hard to swallow… I might just not be coming back, maybe Christy
that call I was making was to tell him that, and you…”

Everyone heard her amused chuckle come through loud and clear.
“Stopped me from telling him, I did ask you if you could bear the consequences did I not! … I’m giving you exactly what you want, me gone… I know that’s your end game, he’ll never cause me pains of betrayal because that would hurt you… So, I don’t have to reject him to leave him. But this way, he’ll always feel I’m separated from him and know you were the cause of it…”
Everyone heard it, that it was both she and i aud laughing this time, not just Mischa, which showed them all that even her wolf was in agreement with her thought process.
“I told you, you had to up your game, that you didn’t know me or what I would do… Enjoying being his one only Mate and Luna are we Christy!” and then there was more laughing from her and Laud. Only this time it sounded as though she and her beast were actually happy with all that was going on.
She smiled right at Christy’s annoyed expression, and then just put her phone down on the coffee table before her, and leaned back onto the couch, uncaring of anyone’s thoughts on what they’d heard. There was, however, complete and utter silence in this office right now as they absorbed it.
She lowered her eyes a little and chuckled softly, amusingly to herself into the office, ‘It’s a whole new ball game now,’ she shot down the mink-link to Christy. Knowing she could get it past all of them, because all eyes were, in fact, now on her and not Christy to see it, yet her eyes were downcast so they wouldn’t see them glaze over.
Everyone in this room, bar Anthony, who’d heard it before from her, was now coming to understand that she could in fact do exactly as she’d stated in that recording. Leave this pack without rejecting Anthony at all. Yes, she’d still be bound to him for the rest of her life, or until such a time as he died, but that didn’t really matter anymore.
Because he was never going to cause her pains of betrayal in order to try and drive her home to confront him about it. Because if he caused her pains of betrayal, then it would in fact cause Christy pains of betrayal as well. And something fleeting wouldn’t get her undivided attention, she’d know it was just him testing her to see if she would come rushing back to stop him.
That it would have to be the full and complete pains of betrayal to bring her home, nothing else would do it. It also read, between the lines, as if she left and got hit with them, she’d only come back to reject him for betraying her and their mate bond.
She looked at Anthony, he’d heard it before, she’d told him in the library about this very thing, his unit also knew she’d said it because he’d told them. So, it didn’t come as a surprise to them to hear her actively voice it to Christy.
“Oh, but there’s more; a kicker, if you will…” she turned to look at Anthony once more. He’d never seen her like this before, and likely didn’t know how to handle her. The sweet gentle-natured she-wolf he’d once loved and doted on, turned against had become something new altogether, something that was unmanageable for him and his beast.

“I have asked Selena, our Moon Goddess, to grant me a second Mate, of my own. I stood out on a balcony under her moon just a few days ago inside another pack, and verbalized out loud, as did Laud, what it is we want in our new Mate. All the things you are now lacking in, and can not provide for us.
“I also believe she’ll grant it, after what I’ve done for her… She visited me personally, spoke to me and my beast. I not only accepted the task she gave me, but I have now completed it as well. Went where she told me to, and spoke to those that she wanted me to.
“So,” Mischa shrugged, “It’s just a matter of time before you’re eclipsed in my life, by my second Mate, and I will let him eclipse you in everything, pull me away from you at every turn, even a simple conversation with you, if he interrupts and asks me to go to him… I will. Because that is what you let Christy do to me. Oh, and I’ll be sleeping solely in his room as you do Christy’s every night.

“You don’t like it now, how will you feel when he comes along, and you get relegated to just the shadow behind him. Will you reject me then, claim I’m ignoring you and blame me for the way our bond turned out?
“This pack will see it as you can’t handle me having another Mate, while you expect me to accept your having a second Mate. Karma is a bitch, and I’ve literally asked Selena to bite you in the ass, I will get up from the table, walk over to him, touch his face and claim him right before you, before the pack and state ‘I was blessed twice by Selena.’ Then markand mate him without so much as consulting you as to how things were going to work. Just like you did to me.”
