The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 125

She could see the horecand annoyance on Anthony’s face as she openly told him how it was going to go. Why it was going to be the way it was, and that if he rejected her because she got gifted a second Mate, just how he would look to the pack and their allies, like the selfish asshole that he truly was.

She’d still be seen as abiding by the will of the Goddess that he was holding her to, using to try and contain her here inside this pack. He was only now coming to understand that nothing was ever going to salvage their bond, he’d ruined it all by himself and there was too much damage for it to be pieced back together.

That her indifference had also passed, and it had turned into complete and utter uncaringress. As for Christy’s apology,Mischa stated and turned back to Christy I don’t need it, nor do I want it. It’s just a lie, only something she’ll say in the hope of placating you. Nothing moreshe shrugged and turned to look at

him.

I gave you a redemption arc, as I said I would, it was you that promised me I’d see no difference in the way you were from Christy being in the cells to how it would be after she got out. Yetyou have completely returned to the way it was before she was in the cells. Gone right back to only caring about Christy and ignoring me.

Thankfully, I was already prepared for that, closed off to all your pleas, because I never believed you in the first place. Even though a part of me wanted to deep down. That is where the indifference comes from.

So, from now on, everyone here in this room can bear witness to my granting that to you in full. I do not expect anything from at all anymore as a Mate. I am to the pack, a Luna they can trust and rely on, but to you, I am nothing but a Luna on paper. I accept that you no longer love me at all.

That you only care about Christy. I hereby give you my full blessing of your GoddessGifted union, because I actually do live by the will of the Goddess and will not interfere in your mate bond with her, that being getting between the two of you physically or pulling you away from each other with mindlinks, crying and running away from you to have all your attention on me. But you, Anthony, do not live by the will of the Goddess yourself and neither does Christy.

You lie to yourself every minute of every day, because if you and Christy truly lived by the will of the Goddess, none of this would be happening right now. Because you’d never have let your second Mate completely eclipse your first Mate.

Christy and I would be completely equal in your eyes, and one wouldn’t be more important to you than the other. Christy also wouldn’t get between us. She would be happy to stick to the original plan you wanted; alternating nights and equal sharing of your time between us.

She’d never be able to pull you away from me for madeup reasons that require your attention and then, oh, you end up having sex and so you stay with her… she puts herself between us because you allow her to do so and get away with it. Allow her to show and put your bond in my face at every given opportunity, which actively destroys our bond bit by bit.

# didn’t hate her in the beginning. I was accepting, but came to hate her over time, with all she did and all allowed her to do, to tear our bond apart. I no longer care to fight for your attention, you no longer you need to be seen as trying to give it to me by the pack. I can live without it now, even bound to you as I am, other than when my heat comes twice a year.

I no longer care to have your attentions on me in any way, shape or form. From now on, feel free to ignore my existence as you do anyway, but now with my blessing in full. For everything other than for the addressing of Luna Duties or accountantrelated things. Only speak to me when there are packrelated issues that need to be handled from now on. You may have what it is you want. Me managing the pack’s funds and Christy on your arm and in your bed.”

She waved a hand at Christy She’s the love of your life, you’ve made that plainly clear, she’s also made it plainly clear to me that you only care about her. That if she doesn’t want you talking to me or seeing me, then I have no right to. Made that point loud and clear by denying me my right to speak with you, my Mate. So, when her Luna training is complete, I’ll even step back from the Luna position and live in her shadow completely, and only deal with the pack’s finances. Christy will have to perform all the Luna Duties every single day of the year. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

I, as one that is expected to live in her shadow, will not help her, it is clearly not my place to. That is what I’ve come to understand, over the past few monthsIf Christy wants my place inside this pack in full. She may have it the moment Debbie states she is qualified to be the Luna,

I will not let this pack down by leaving it with one that is unqualified to handle Luna Duties, because she didn’t want to learn the roll. No, I will stay in the seat until such a time as she sits in it. Where you want her to be, where she wants to be. As I heard, she tried to unseat Simone from my actual desk the very day I left this pack, when she has her own desk in that office even.

Mischa clicked her tongue twice and turned and looked at Christy. I hope you can do the job in full, be responsible for counseling and consoling not only the pack members, but all the teens who need guidance and a genuinely loving and caring Luna’s full and undivided attention at times. To help them resolve, their issues, some of which are much like what we are going through right now.

I hope you can do it, though I don’t honestly think you can, toohmm, selfcentered and only care about yourself and what you can get for yourself. So, you guiding teens to make the right decisions for not only themselves, but sometimes others around them as wellCan see the bigger picture and what is need on how to get them to see what is right and wrong

She shook her head. It’s not in you, I don’t think. It’s almost three years now, and I’ve never once seen you sit and talk with, console or counsel a teen on anything. I have, however, seen you direct them right to me told one I believe That’s Mischa’s job to sort that out.’ Then waved them away. But then, didn’t even tell me about it.

Not very Lunaly of you at all, I’m afraid. So, don’t apologize to me for what you’re not actually sorry for. I will not believe you, even if you managed to get it out and get past Paul, have him state you actually meant itI won’t accept it, because I simply don’t want to.

She smiled at the expression on Christy’s face, it was no longer filled with annoyance but shock and concern for all that was going to come from what Mischa said in this very room. Concern about what was going to happen to herself and nothing more, and Mischa knew that.

What I do want, however, is the true account for all in this room to hear and be on record, is for you to state why you didn’t put my call through to Anthony. I am curious as to if you were just being a real bitch of a shewolf, and lording your happy loved up mate bond in my face.

Or if, as I pointed out to Anthony last night, and is what set him off into a full fit of rage, is that you did not put my call through to him in the hope that something bad would happen to me, and I’d wind up dead? Or kidnapped and sold on the black market, to never return to the pack. I want that, the truth of that very thing on the record for all to know. She smiled at Christy a little nastily now.

She heard several in the office gasp at what she’d voiced, and all eyes were now on Christy as they sat waiting for Christy to answer her question. On the record; meant innocent or guilty of wanting Mischa dead or gone from this pack.

She watched as Christy turned slowly about and looked at everyone staring at her, turn to face Anthony himself as he stood up slowly from his chair to stand over her, as Shade and Anthony both looked down at her, his blue eyes rimmed with a brilliant green to indicate it was both of them on the surface. They wanted to know themselves if Christy had done it, in the hope Mischa would never return, it seemed.

It’s not like that.Christy rushed out as she held up a single hand to Anthony and Shade and shook her head at them as they now stood staring her down. Knew it would be seen as full traitorous tendencies on display once more and see her head come off.

What Mischa did not expect was for Anthony and Shade to unexpectedly and without any warning, just roll their Alpha Aura over Christy, and see Christy fold under the weight of it, fall down on to her knees so very quickly as she gasped out in pain as it was flooded over her. What was the intent behind you, Christy, not putting Mischa’s phone call through to me, her Mate?Anthony and Shade spoke as one as they ordered the truth from their own Mate.

Toshow heryou only love meNot her anymoreonly careabout me.” Christy gasped out That she’snothingto you. There was nothing more to come from her. But for a full minute, Anthony and Shade still rolled their aura over her, trying to see if there was anything else before they dropped it and Christy sobbed there on the floor in front of him.

Mischa shook her head. She didn’t know if it was pain that was stalling her words or if it was Christy trying desperately to fight the order on her, so the truth wouldn’t be revealed.

Gamma, does she feel guilty about what she did at all? About those very words she has now been forced to reveal about her intent towards Mischa.”

There was a minute of silence. No,Paul answered, “Angry right now, mixed in with her pain of your order of her. I sense out no guilt.”

Anthony turned to look at Mischa. You may not want an apology or be willing to accept it, but

you

will

have it,he stated. Because anything could have happened to you out there, as you pointed out,

kidnapped, beaten, brutalized or killed by an enemy pack, and that one call could have been you calling to ask me for my help. Which would not have come to you.”
