“I dare say Anthony was supposed to choose between us,” Mischa commented. “Take the time to get to know Christy and see what she was like, but he didn’t. All he saw was the blessing of a second Mate.” She shrugged. “If he only has one Mate, it’s likely he’ll be good to them. That was how he was with me, until Christy showed up, a good, loving, doting Mate.
“He’s also good to the pack itself, doesn’t treat them badly, isn’t even that strict on them, they can study what they want and take what jobs they want here in the pack or out there in the human world. All things good Alphas do.” She sighed softly.
“Just… I think, needs a full reality check and to learn that he can’t blame others for his own choices. I see now he’s not learned that yet. I thought for a minute when calling that meeting he had done so, but… not so much now,” Mischa stated simply.
“It’s likely that he won’t until one of you reject him in full,” Simone commented, “He’ll never do it himself, it will show him in a bad light that he either couldn’t handle having two Mates as you stated, or that he is selfish if he rejects you, his allies will see him as rejecting a bond of 22 years, and a Luna that helped him reclaim and bring this pack back to life.
“For a she–wolf that has done nothing for this pack in over two years. If he rejects Christy, he likely thinks he’ll be seen as stupid, because what Alpha, who is blessed with a second Mate, rejects that and only keeps one? It’s his ego that holds you both bound to him and nothing more. Mischa.” Simone sighed.
“I’m well aware of that.” Mischa nodded.
Simone sighed softly “We can force his hand, say the word Mischa and we will. It’s your bond, what do you
want?”
“Leave it alone for now. I want to see.” She smiled a little. “If Debbie can lash her into being a decent Luna.

All of them chuckled at her words and Simone nodded. “Alright, for now you have your way. I’ll go report that to Debbie and May I know they will want to hear it.” Then she left the office.
Mischa looked at her unit and smiled. “I’m fine, and Christy also just learned from me, despite all that is going on. I’m stepping back the moment she’s trained up, and I will no longer sit in this office. She’s just found out she’s gotten everything on a platter.
“So, I don’t think she will reject Anthony regardless of all that was said out there to her, by the Elders. She’ll stay knowing, in what, six months, if she behaves herself and stays out of my way, she can have everything. That I won’t leave the pack, which means Anthony won’t turn on her, as he feels that ache in his chest, and I just declared, other than my heats, I want nothing to do with Anthony at all, if it’s not directly pack related.
“That will work in my favor. Though I already told her previously she could have him to her face, she now has heard me put it on record that I will stay here in the background and run the pack finances, which will

see Anthony return to his old ways and only have Christy on the brain.
“But also know he’ll be tending to my heats and still trying to get an heir from me at the same time. So, again, that all works into my plans. Sometimes, girls, I think Selena is just up there rolling the dice of fate in my favor where that she wolf is concerned. I was not expecting anything like what just happened, certainly not cutting Christy from–pack funds.”
“Hmm, none of us were… but the pack once again saw her being punished and for actually hating on you in full this time. Anthony informed them of that himself with his statement. What little friends she had remaining here inside the pack, I think just fell away,” Carol murmured.
“Does she have a social group? I couldn’t recall her hanging out with anyone other than Anthony,” Mischa
asked now.
“Hmm, I’ve seen her with a few wolves. Though two of them have been rejected themselves by their Mates and sent back here to their home pack. What for? You’d have to look that up, but they were marked and mated, moved to their Mate’s pack and then rejected at some point. That spells trouble, either cheating or seen as deceitful in some way, otherwise they’d not have been sent back.” Carrol nodded.
“Just like Christy herself, in other words,” Letti nodded. “Like–minded. Though falling away from her if they are just like her,” she shook her head, ‘no‘. “I doubt it, they would be looking to help Christy get back into power and back on Anthony’s good side.
“They probably have her spend pack money on them with that Luna’s card she’s now not got, pay for lunches and some shopping as well. If they are of the same nature, narcissistic as well, then they’d be looking out for themselves only, just doing it in a round about way that sees Christy not realize it.
“Just like she does to Anthony and as long as they are on her side and helping her to get what she wants, she’ll likely blip over the little things they do, to get what they want from her to achieve her end goal of being Anthony’s one and only Mate.” Letti muttered.
“So, your plan for Christy is still a go?” Rebecca asked.
“Mm, it is. I’m hoping how I worded myself, will see her act according to my being in heat. She knows I’m not on birth control and regardless of me stepping back, I’m still here inside the pack, and any child I have with Anthony is going to irk her to no end… Someone stated to me, something that was curious while I
was away,
“Said they could see something I missed in all of this… What if Anthony doesn’t actually want an heir from Christy and only wants it from myself? That I have what an Alpha would consider better genes, because Christy has shown on more than one occasion she’s got traitorous tendencies… So, he’ll not reject me on that basis alone. Even if he never voices it,” she told them.
Letti frowned at her and then leaned on her desk after just a moment. “He did voice that… We all just missed it, because you dismissed it in favor of not having Christy target you in full. He stated you were to produce the heir to the pack, that no pups coming from Christy would ever come before any of yours and his, regardless of who’s were born first, yours or hers.”

“Oh, even Christy missed that one,” Carol nodded. “Because you vetoed it yourself, Mischa… I think, whoever it was that said that to you, got it right. Hit that nail squarely on the head, it’s you who he wants to birth the heir to the pack. Even before all the shit hit the fan,
“Paul told me once, that Anthony stated that your and his firstborn would be the heir to the pack. He didn’t say you had to have it before him and Christy had a pup. His exact words were: Your and his firstborn.”
“Yay.” Mischa muttered, and her girls chuckled softly.
“That could work in our favor too. You know if you don’t mind me running a decoy plan of my own,” Carol
smiled.
“Which would be?” Mischa asked.
“To walk past Christy out there on the shaming post and state that although you’re off birth control, Paul just told me Anthony’s considering putting Christy on birth control, until you conceive the heir to the pack. He’ll wait to make the decision until the outcome of your heat is known though.” Carol smiled right at her. Oh, I like being devious, and not being bound to that she–wolf because she rejected Paul as her Gamma, allows me to have a little fun of my own.”
“It technically harms no one,” Mischa nodded. “What Christy does with hearing something like that is up to her. Though it could backfire, and she could go right to Anthony about it,” she mused thoughtfully.
“So, what if she does! I’ll give Paul the heads–up. It might also put the idea into Anthony’s head and, therefore, he’d just look at her and, after a moment of thought, actually tell her he thinks it’s a good idea for all we know. He could see it as a way to show you he only wants you to birth the heir to the pack.” Carol shrugged.
All of them were nodding, and she shooed them away back to their desks to get some work done. She wasn’t going to stop them if they wanted to help, she would let them. That was their prerogative, and she was right. It technically wasn’t hurting anyone. They were just words to see if Christy intended to turn over a new leaf or not.
She shook it off and turned to her own work, accessed her private e–mails. When she saw the notification, that she had one. It was from Alpha Nicolas. He’d gotten back to her first thing this morning, and she’d been too busy to check it.
“Mischa,
I have received and read your contract, understand it’s Wolfen Council approved, and I see why it is private and confidential. I’ve not shared it with anyone; not even Lucinda. I am more than a little disappointed in what I read and saw; between the lines of why you have to go to the lengths you have gone to, in order to protect yourself from your own Mate and his other Mate.
Yes, I understand the between the lines very well; from all I have already seen and heard, this just completed the picture in full for me. My offer still stands to have you come here when you are ready. From what I read and have seen, you are prepping for that very thing.
L
I will help you, as not only your allied Alpha, hut your friend and lawyer, to exit your life when you are completely ready to. I agree that reinventing yourself is a good idea. I’ll prep that paperwork, keep your first name the same as we always try to, and drop your age back to 22
I suggest a slight spelling change is all. Dropping the ‘C‘ from your name would be good enough, going from Mischa to Misha it’s almost identical and still pronounced the same, seeing as the ‘C‘ is already a silent letter. You need to think of a last name. Trecommend not reverting to your parents‘ last name if you are wanting to keep Anthony from finding you.
Get back to me when you know what it will be, and I will do the rest and activate it when you tell me to. I’ll source you a good university and find a good path for you to take. Do you want on–campus living or are you looking to find a new pack? If so, one that is affiliated with me would be a good idea.
I can source that as well. Find you a good safe haven. Seeing as you’ve mentioned previously, you didn’t want to stay here in my pack, because that is the first place Anthony would look for you. On a side note, I am glad that the Wolfen Council are aware of your situation, and you have their backing.
Nicholas.‘
She smiled, not only was Nicholas going to help her change her name, but he was going to find her a new pack as well. He really was a good friend and an Alpha worth being allied too.
