Mischa had retired to her suite to sit and write up what had transpired for her in that bout of heat. She left nothing out because she was likely going to have to put it into that study, then she’d poured herself a glass of her favorite red wine and sank down on the couch to relax and try to just forget about it.
Only to hear her doorbell ring, and feel with the pack tether that it was Anthony, she’d opened it after only a minute’s contemplation of; did she or did she not want to speak with him? She’d opted to see what he had to say for himself in the end.
He’d been freshly showered and dressed in jeans and a simple tee–shirt, which to her meant he’d returned to his suite to dress. She had been told he was in that one–bedroom suite across from the Delta’s suite, with Christy, not in the Luna Suite, though Christy had tried to get Anthony’s unit to put her in the Luna’s Suite for her heat to be tended to;
One of them had done so.
It was just after 8pm and here he was at her door. She’d not seen him once after her bout of heat. Now
she was standing looking at him, and he’d made a point she thought of showering and getting rid of
Christy’s scent from himself before coming here.
“Yes Anthony?” she asked.
His eyes moved over her, and she wondered if he even cared what she wore or not anymore. She was standing in her pajamas, soft pink silk shorts and cami with a mating silk dressing gown over the top, and then she saw him smell her, ah he was trying to scent out that heat she’d gone into, and she’d reported
was now over.
“I came to check on you,” he stated calmly. “How are you doing? And don’t just tell me fine, you weren’t fine earlier. So how can you be fine now, even a few hours later?”
She kind of just stared at him. She didn’t have to explain herself to him as far as she was concerned. “Why are you here and not with Christy?” she asked right back, ignoring his question all together. “She’s still in heat, I imagine.”
“Yes, as you should be, but are not…” his head tilted slightly to the right, and she knew he was assessing her. She didn’t stop him. There was nothing amiss, she didn’t even have an increased heart rate, nothing about this man before her affected her anymore. Not even his smile that once made her heart flutter.
“I don’t understand why you’re not still in heat,” Anthony commented.
She looked at him and shrugged as if to say don’t look at me. But then stated, “Maybe, Anthony, you should think back to all my previous heats and how they’ve changed since Christy arrived, and you took her for your second Mate and Luna.”
He was frowning at her now as though he didn’t understand what she was saying. “You still have them twice a year.” He murmured.
“Hmm, I do, I guess though, that’s all you recall about them, right…” She looked right at him expectantly,

but he said nothing. She knew it to be true, otherwise he’d know what she was talking about. “You didn’t notice they’ve been slowly but surely changing with every heat, getting less and less as you showed less and less interest in being my Mate.” She put right to him how she saw it.
Again, he frowned. Only this time it was much deeper than before, and she nearly laughed right in his face. “Are you going to deny that, right to my face after everything that’s happened, proven to have happened?” she asked, staring at him pointedly.
She watched his jaw tick, and then he just said nothing, so she added, “Perhaps with your lack of wanting to be a proper loving Mate to me anymore, and by that, I mean not only not spending normal every day time with me, but your always spending time with Christy, and your lack of even sleeping in the same bed
as me.
“Combined with you maybe having sex with me at best once a month for, like I don’t know, an hour, sometimes less than that, for the 12 months prior to my previous heat in November, and not once sleeping in the same bed for an entire night during those 12 months either.
“Then you topped it all off when you decided of your own free will to just not bother to attend to my last
heat, chose on purpose to only attend Christies and let me suffer mine alone. That you never noticed my
heat is dwindling away to nothing,
“It was once four days, with six or seven bouts a day, bouts that could last an hour or more even. The last one was what? Still four days but only three bouts of heat a day, and they lasted what? 30 or 40 minutes only. This heat… I guess is indicative of the decline still happening,
“My heat from two years ago to my last one; halved the bouts. Let’s round that down to say it was reduced by half because of your lack of wanting to be an active part of our mate bond. Therefore, by that logic, this one should be reduced as well. I guess the flow on effect of my last heat, which was four days still but only three heat bouts,
“To which you only tended to one day of it, so it declined by your own actions. I guess down to a quarter of what it had been in November, because you only attended to a quarter of my last heat. So, by that logic, one day, one bout would be rounded down to a quarter once more, I suppose. I guess that one day there might just be no heat at all, so you’ll never have to concern yourself with it ever again.“[”
He was frowning deeply at the way she was explaining it to him, “Yes, I’ve had time to think about it. I’m also the only one to notice. Have you in the past two and a half years? If you did, you never concerned yourself with it, so no, you didn’t notice.” She pointed out to him. “It’s logical to me, but your ignorance of it, makes it illogical to you, I guess.”
She had no idea if he would believe her or not, but this was the way she’d opted to explain it to those that didn’t know about her heat reduction bangle. She’d also documented the decline of her heat bouts and their lessening, not only in her personal diary but in her heat log, in her pack file.
“To be completely honest with you, I’m glad that it was just one bout, because to tell you the truth, Anthony, I wouldn’t have let you tend another bout, wouldn’t have handled it at all. Laud and I were not wanting it when it happened. I’m certain you also got that loud and clear.

“Perhaps what happened today, how hand my wolf reacted to our own Mate. Saw Selena simply see fit to end my heat abruptly, se as not to make me suffer any fore emotional trauma… You yourself didn’t handle it so well either now, did you!” she pointed out to him.
“No,” he muttered. “I honestly didn’t know the affliction was going to set off that kind of reaction in you.” He sighed heavily now, “I am sorry Mischa.”
“I guess it’s too late for apologies now, isn’t it…” she stared at him for a long moment. “Or perhaps, Anthony, there is another option here as to why it happened, that Selena saw fit to give you what it is you’ve made plainly clear that you want. To only tend to Christy’s heat, so again Christy was sent into heat directly after I went into heat, not even a day later like the last time, but the very same day, so you could ignore my heat for hers…”
“Mischa, I have not abandoned you to your heat. I did everything I could to be here for it. Like I promised you I would be, I even tried to handle it the way you told me to.” He sighed once more. “It wasn’t nice, and I hated it as much as you did.” He muttered, “Don’t ever want it to be like that again.”
She nodded, she couldn’t deny any of that. He had been there for her heat, had listened to what she
wanted and done exactly that, and he’d also left the room when she’d told him to. “But Christy is once again in heat out of the blue, when I am in heat,” she stated flatly. “Odd to say the least. But it is what it is, I
guess.
“So, I suggest you go and tend to Christy’s heat. I don’t need her coming out of that room and her blaming me for you not tending to her heat. I’m not stopping you, I told you not to bother with me, and I documented that. Your unit is also aware I’ve told you to tend your other Mate’s heat.
“I did not ask you to leave her and come here to me/I don’t want to pull you away from her in this time of her heat. So please go back to her. I don’t need you,” she stated.
the
“Mischa…” he put a hand on the door as she tried to close it and stopped her from doing so. “Christy isn’t going to blame you for me coming to see you, I haven’t told her your heat is over, she doesn’t need to know that. It’s none of her business to be honest. I have also had Brent give her drugs to help ease pain of my not being in the room with her,
“Because I’ve explained to her that I won’t be doing that again. I’ve told her I have two Mates in heat at the same time, and she can’t have me all to herself like last time. I made that very clear after her first bout of heat was tended to.
“She has also agreed to this, told me she will use the drugs given to her and doesn’t want to be over mated again. She also told me she thinks I should come and tend to your heat bouts all of them, she can use the drugs provided to her.
“Has tried to send me back to you twice already today. Told me once that even though you weren’t having a bout of heat, I should come and check on you… I think maybe, finally, she’s coming to understand I’ll never leave you and I love you, and is actively trying to accept the three–way bond now. After all that’s happened,” he told her.

That was interesting, Mischa thought, but said, “Well, you can tell her it’s over and just stay in her room. You don’t need to use me as an excuse, and I’d actually prefer that you didn’t. Because when she finds out you lied to her about my still being in heat, she’ll state I did it on purpose too… oh! I don’t know. Pay her back for all the times she’s done that to me.” She shook her head. “So go back to Christy and stay there.” She stated and closed the door.
