CH 145
Mischa watched Anthony stop and stare at her the following morning after breakfast. She knew what he was doing, using all Shades wolfen senses to try and see if she was carrying his pup or not, and she wondered if he was desperate to keep her here, after all she now understood was actually going on with him.
She did not stop walking, and she saw the way Christy was watching hire from where she sat. She didn’t speak with either of them, but then heard him also take a deep breath in to smell her to try and pick up any changes to her natural scent that would indicate she was pregnant as well.
Her mouth quirked up in one corner as her eyes met Christy’s as she walked on by, then stated down the mind–link to her ‘It can take an Alpha from two to three weeks to pick up if his Mate is with pup. That’ll be an anxious wait for you,’ she snorted ‘I, however, will know before he does, anywhere up to a week before he does, but to make it fun for me, I won’t tell him, and you’ll get to see him try and scent out if I am or not.’
She did not stop just moved on about the pack doing her thing, then she’d found May, Simone and Debbie
in her office all looking at her just after 1030 in the morning, and she raised an eyebrow at them all.
“Christy’s blood work is in,” Debbie stated, and placed a pathology report before her, then placed another next to it. The second one had the date highlighted; it was a copy of Christy’s blood work from November.
She glanced at both and nodded, “As is expected,” she stated, and pushed them back towards the Elders. “Mischa, if you expected this, then you knew back in November… why didn’t you tell us we could have got rid of Christy then.” Simone muttered.
“Hmm, but where’s the fun in that for me?” Mischa had responded simply. “I am curious as to how often she’ll stupidly do this to herself. I don’t think she understands the true ramifications though… Dr. Dana of Obsidian stated it’s likely she knows exactly what she’s doing, she is trying to line up her heats to always cross over mine, for each time she does this now,” Mischa tapped the pathology report, “her body will add
a heat to her.”
[
“And you’re just letting her?” Debbie asked. “Why?”
“Because he didn’t fight for me, so why should I fight for him…” she shrugged. “Christy wants to play at eclipsing me in everything, which she also just learned the hard way that if I actually leave, he’ll turn on her and blame her. That is probably the best punishment there could be, because until now, she’s never been truly ignored by him or feit like she’s going to lose him.
“She went so far as to call me herself and demand I return to the pack and why? Because she couldn’t‘ handle him in a full temper, fully directed at her, and why, simply because I wasn’t here and nothing more… I did nothing at all. Well, actually, I gave her what she wanted: a week of just him and her. Only it didn’t turn out like she thought it would,” Mischa snorted.
“That was amusing for me to learn. I didn’t see him reacting like that either. Hmm, let’s call it an added

bonus to her punishments… How many heats in a year does a she–wolf have? Two at most. Christy has just had three inside of six months. Will have another in November, because she’s going to self–induce it to eclipse mine once more. That will be in a calendar year, 4 heats,” she shook her head, “Unheard of, is what that is. It will also solidify a new heat cycle for her. Then she’ll be having three permanent heats a year from November. Always have three inside a six–month period.”
“This is what you want?” May asked, with a curious frown.
“Yes, but I also want her to have at least one more between now and then. So, every three months she goes into heat. Currently, I only need to get her to self–induce her heat in August. And well, that means she will go into heat every three months for the rest of her life. That is unheard of. How can he not see it’s on purpose!”
“I don’t know how he doesn’t see it now,” Debbie huffed.
“So, this.” May tapped the blood work.
“Leave it alone, it’s really only me that is affected by this. Anthony is not oblivious to what she’s doing, not anymore how can he be with all that was documented. He knows she’s tried to blame me for that heat in November, now it’s happened again. He has to know it’s her doing this. But if he outs it himself, what happens? Her head comes off, and he now doesn’t want that because he knows it’s not going to save our
Mate Bond or bring me back around to him the way we once were. I told him that to his face.
“So, he’s going to ignore everything Christy does m now on, because if he loses her he’ll have no Mate at all, not something any wolf wants. You may bring this to his attention if you like, but don’t expect him to point fingers at Christy… Even if he knows that’s what Christy did, he’s not going to admit it now, he can’t without branding her a traitor himself.
“Then there’s the moment he denies knowing anything. That means he’s also a traitor, to me, the pack’s reigning Luna, because he’s actively letting Christy plot against me. He’s now living on the edge of a double–bladed sword. Me on one side and Christy on the other. He now knows he’ll never have me again, but he’s currently still got Christy on the other side.
As deceitful as she is, she’ll never leave him, and he knows that now. She wants to be and will be his only Luna to his pack, because not bringing this up,” she tapped the pathology report. “Means he’s actively made his choice now. It’s no longer the will of the goddess.
“To him, either way he jumps, he’s losing everything, and what do Alpha’s do in situations where they are faced with losing everything in one hand or keeping everything by traitorous means in the other hand? The scale tips to the dark side of them. No Alpha wants to lose his pack, let alone kill one of his Mates and see the other reject him.
“Which will also see him become wolf–less. That was his vow, was it not? So, pleading ignorance is all he can do, until the moment he can’t. It’ll come and May, and you and Harvey will retake the seat, I imagine as per that Alpha’s Oath on his wrist.”
She watched the three of them sigh heavily. “When will you be leaving?” May asked.

“When I feel he’ll least notice it. Currently, he’s watching me like a hawk. I’d like for him to be unaware. Laud wants to see just how long it actually takes him to realize we’re not here. Six months is my guess, one heat to the next.” Mischa shrugged.
“You’re not going to reject him when you leave.” Simone frowned now. That’s not wise.”
“Why, he’s never going to cheat, he’s still got Christy. So, I’ll not get hit with pains of betrayal.” She

“Human?” Simone asked.
“You like being a Luna; are very good at it, Mischa, were born to be a Luna.” Debbie sighed.
“I’ll always be one, still bound to an Alpha. I’ll not let that part of me go because you’re right. I do enjoy looking after the pack, talking and helping the teens, but honestly I’m tired, too, of this…” She waved her hand at her own accountant’s office. “Dealing with the pack’s funds. I can see why most other packs delegate it and have their own dedicated accountant teams that aren’t part of the leadership, or are Elders that understand everything about running a pack.
“Keeping a pack afloat is hard work and exhausting. I also see why some opt to go back to uni and study something else, change careers. I’ve been doing this for two decades, and I’m over it. Though I suppose that also comes down in part to seeing how much money that she–wolf wastes, and how much he spends
