She’d come up with a plan to test if it was Christy or someone inside the pack that hacked the system, had gone off and spoken to the security tech department all on her own, and she was keeping track of things, that new cybersecurity system and fire wall was up and running. But she wanted to know the actual truth, and she’d sat and put her thoughts to the tech team.
They’d not liked hearing that she believed there was a mole in the pack, but had agreed to play her game, because they were about to use that pack’s computer restore point to try and get back what they could from the missing files. But she’d told them to keep it quiet that they were going to do that; not to mention it at all.
She’d purposely waited for Anthony to leave for his Annual Alpha Meeting to do this, then she’d connected herself to a pack–wide mind–link ‘My pack, I, your Luna, have some good news for you all. The tech team has found the pack’s computer system back–up restore point was not damaged by the attack on the pack.
‘The new firewalls are in place, and the security system has been tested and is much stronger than before. A full system restore will happen tonight at midnight. The tech team tells me 30 to 60 minutes, and the missing or half affected pack files will be restored from the back–up system, all the way back to January 1st,
‘Which I’m told there is a protocol to set up a restore point which is set up on January 1st and July 1st. Luckily for us, the January one has yet to be overridden, and so we can restore all the missing files that were deleted from the cyber–attack on the pack, in full up until January 1st.
‘I’ve asked the that new restore points be changed to one every 8 weeks, so this type of thing happening again in the future, will only affect two months of pack files. I don’t want you to be worried about the files safety or things that might need proper documentation going
missing.
‘I’ll be requesting that, from now on, important matters such as, but not limited to, educational degrees, awards and achievements human or wolfen, as well as things like, pack punishments not only be recorded in pack files, but are now also stored on USB devices.
‘Each pack member will have their own USB allocated to them, and it will be kept in the security of the Luna’s safe, in my office. You will all, of course, have access to your own USB to see what is on there,
‘It will be able to be signed out, and only by the person it belongs to, with a co–sign of a Luna Ranked Wolf or the Luna’s Unit; to say it was given to the right person, it will also be signed back in to the safe in the same manner. And an allotted time of 24 hours will be given for
personal use when being signed out.

‘A lot can be recalled by our wolfen memory and when the Alpha and his Unit return, they will spend much of their time rewriting what has not been restored to the pack files. So don’t be concerned too much about what will be left out. I’m certain we can fix everything back to how it was. I and the Luna’s unit will start going through the files and copying over all the important things to the USBS first thing tomorrow morning.‘ She cut the link.
She’d made that mind–link in the pack’s dining hall at lunchtime after watching Christy come in and sit down to eat her meal and was now casually watching her. She looked somewhat annoyed, and she got up and left the room before her break was over, strolled out of it looking at her phone, as if she was scrolling through the trending topics or the pack’s social media page.
Mischa smiled to herself, the tech teams here and in the office were both prepped and ready for the attack to come, all their staff were going to be waiting, just minutes after they were to have resorted the pack files, though that wasn’t actually going to happen; it was just laying a trap for those that were going to do Christy’s bidding she was hoping.
Though they didn’t know it was Christy that was doing this, but if they attacked the same files it would be noted as well. Letti looked at her. “What is going on?” she asked.
She connected herself to her entire unit, ‘I’m playing Christy’s game.‘ She told them, ‘I noticed all the pack–related stuff about Christy’s crimes were targeted. Anthony’s lack of documentation allowed his file to stay untouched. Dereck’s documentation was minimal due to Kendrick and Paul doing that, but their files were gone. Christy’s herself was gone from before that heat in November and all her punishments as well. My complete file was gone. She’s gotten someone to delete all the evidence of her crimes inside this pack, I believe. I told her I’d send it to the wolfen council unless she gave me no reason to.
‘That very night there was an attack on the pack and bam, everything was gone. Or half gone for certain people involved. Covered up by others in the pack having full or partial deletion of their files at random. That weren’t involved in her crimes.’
‘So you’re playing what game now?‘ Carol asked.
‘Seeing if it was her or not. There’s not going to be a system restore tonight. It’s a ruse, to see if another attack comes is all. If so, only those within the pack know about it. So…‘ she shrugged ‘Catching her out because even the tech team think the hackers will go looking for the restore point and attack it if there is a mole in this pack that deleted those files on purpose. We laid a trap is all.‘
She sat in the tech office that night, and there it was a cyber–attack, and they tracked and attacked the fake restore point the tech team had planted for them to find which had a virus

that would affect their own systems and track them in return.

Then, before they could start attacking files to cover what they’d done, the attack was gone as Diesel yelled, “Gotcha.” A big smile on his face and sent them a gift of his own: a picture of a ‘guillotine with a head falling into a basket below it.’ she saw it appear on the screen and chuckled softly herself.
“We’ll see it be reported officially to the humans as another cyber–attack on the company. Only this time we were prepared,” Diesel stated, “Though it’s not here, Luna, not from this pack at all.” He’d worked his magic, and it showed a place out in Minnesota.
She nodded and got up and walked away from the office. Minnesota was where Christy’s original home pack was from and only one state over, it was likely she was getting help from someone there she now understood.
She sat out on her balcony with a glass of red wine after returning to her suite and smiled to herself. Christy was now a full traitor to the pack itself; she had asked someone to attack the pack in a cyberattack, twice now she knew. The question was how was she paying for it all, that she–wolf didn’t have any money to her name.
She heard movement outside the back of the packhouse and saw Christy stalking off into the woods. Now that was interesting to her, she tracked that tether of that girl all the way to the lake, that the pack backed onto, but didn’t follow her, was more than curious about it, but she only seemed to walk out there and then come right back.
It was odd behavior and Misha stood and leaned on her balcony in plain sight of Christy coming back. She saw that she–wolf look right up at her room and then stop as she realized Mischa was watching her. “Nice night for a walk.” Mischa smiled and sipped her glass of wine. “Where’d you go at this hour?”
“None of your damned business,” Christy stated and walked off.
“Odd timing for a walk. The pack was just cyber–attacked once more and here you are walking about on your own.”
“You’re up.” Christy shot at her.
“Yes, because I was in the tech office waiting for an attack.” She laughed softly. “Because I was pretty darn certain it was coming.” She clucked her tongue. “Want to know why I thought that.”
“Who the hell knows what you think on any given day?” Christy started walking once more. You stay the hell away from me, and I’ll stay the hell away from you from now on.”
“Sure,” Mischa snorted.

It seemed Christy understood clearly what Mischa was implying, that it was her that set this off and that she could pull the rug out from underneath her at any given moment. She’d also just gotten to hear Christy state in full she’d leave her alone. That was good for Mischa. Now it was just to be seen if that she–wolf could in fact do that very thing.
Nothing she’d ever plotted and planned had gone her way in the end. In the beginning, yes, but she’d then gotten too cocky and overplayed her hand back in November and was now paying for it in full. She’d counted her chickens before they’d hatched, and now she had no chickens at all.
Maybe this was the turning point, and Christy now realized she couldn’t actually outsmart her, or she thought if Anthony ever found out it was Christy that set off that cyberattack on the pack and the head office, he’d just kill her himself because that wasn’t just her out to be the only Luna to this pack, it was her harming the pack company’s reputation. Showing she didn’t care about the pack at all, just wanted to keep her place at the Luna for the title and
money.
Showing she was nothing but a selfish money grubber and nothing more, that when they investigated it, it would just be seen as her trying to get rid of evidence of her crimes against Mischa, so they couldn’t go to the Wolfen Council and see her head come off. All of which was again just to stay as his Mate and keep the title and money.
Showing she was not only willing to turn on just Mischa to get what she wanted, but that she was willing to, in fact, turn on the pack itself, and all to try and save her own ass from being rejected by him, and banished from the pack, is what it actually all boiled down to. When, if she’d just accepted things the way they were supposed to be in the first place, and not been so selfish, she’d have all of that at her fingertips.
