all Christy had done to get what she wanted, to fully eclipse her, and take everything from her. All those self–induced heats and all the punishments she’d been dealt out, the heat the Elders had induced into her, they were all for naught now.
Her sheer desperation to be the one to have the firstborn pup to Anthony, which would normally be the heir to the pack, had just all blown up in her face. None of it mattered. That she–wolf could sit in the Luna’s office, reside in the Alpha’s Suite and have all the pups in the world she wanted with Anthony.
He was never going to acknowledge Christy’s pups as heirs to the pack. Christy was going to be utterly fuming when that shock wore off, and then she would be looking to actually get rid of Mischa for good. Because she’d lost the game of fully eclipsing Mischa, when she’d thought she had finally achieved it. She arrived at the Rising Blue Lotus before she even knew she was there, pulled up at the gate and announced herself and a part of her wondered how she’d gotten all the way here, barely even recalled driving down here, on autopilot, she supposed. But here she was safe and sound and that was all that mattered, she thought.
She watched as the gates opened and smiled. She liked the way the white lotus flower separated from the blue moon as the gates parted and how every time they opened and closed, it symbolized the coming together of two packs. Lucinda’s pack and Nicholas‘ pack both forever joined together by the uniting of their own mate bond.
Something he’d had to fight for, because he was raised backwards and didn’t understand what a Luna truly
< CH158
was, but he’d learned and educated himself, and then never waved once in his determination to become a better person. To prove he not only loved his Mate and Luna, but that he always would.
She drove all the way to the packhouse and parked her car out the front. Nick and Lucinda were out there along with his and her unit, and Paul, Carol and Louise. They were all looking at her, and she smiled at them. “Surprise.” She stated, “Not even I knew I was going to leave today. Kind of just happened out of the blue,” she told them.
“You’re still bound to him,” Nick frowned, pointing out her filigree. “I thought you were going to reject him before leaving. That also would be the wise thing to do.”
“Hmm, kind of left after an Oh hell no, moment.” She stated “So,” she shrugged. “I’m still attached to him. It’s also what he wants. Kind of part of the reason I left as I did as well.” She sighed and shook her head as she looked to Paul. “You were right, he’s never going to relinquish me.”
“What exactly made you leave?” Paul asked.
“I saw him talking to Christy, his words were the deciding factor.” She stated, “Her and his pups will never be deemed the heirs to the pack. Only I can produce the heir to the pack… None of Christy’s will sit in the seat of Alpha is what he implied. I didn’t actually stick around to hear the whole conversation.”
“He voiced that out loud,” Nick asked.
“Not only out loud, but in the packhouse foyer for all to hear. Laud and I were, stunned momentarily and then just left before Christy could get past the shock of his words and come after us. That is a death
sentence hanging over our heads.”
“It would be.” Paul agreed.
“Initiation Mischa?” Nick asked.
“No, if I’m felt being severed from the pack, he’ll hunt for me, likely come straight here, so I’m leaving that in place for now. Sort it out only after he’s realized I’m not there, not before. If that’s okay with you and
Lucinda?” she asked.
“It’s fine, Mischa,” Lucinda nodded, “I understand the need. Sometimes Lunas have to do things to keep
themselves safe from the Alpha Mate that they leave. Not all Lunas live happy, loved–up lives, and escape plans need to be made and enacted.”
Mischa nodded “I’m starving. Kind of came on autopilot, so to speak.”
“I only foresee one problem, Mischa, with you staying bound to Anthony, you’ll still go into heat twice a year.” Nick murmured as they walked inside.
“Only one bout, is all and my heats are pretty regular between the 3rd and 5th of November and May. I’ll just stay in my room during those days while I’m here. I can handle one bout on my own twice a year.”
“One bout only?” Lucinda frowned at her.
“Hmm, Selena herself blessed me with a solution to that very problem. She came to me in person and

helped me to get in touch with those she needed, I believe, to create something that could help many others, like me.” Mischa nodded.
“You actually saw and spoke to Selena? The Moon Goddess?” Lucinda asked as she turned and stared at her a little wide–eyed.
“Yes, she appeared inside my pack and spoke directly to me. I hear it happens at times. I found a few others she speaks to as well. Odd, but I guess she can only do things indirectly, can’t do things herself, has to have us do things for her, I suppose, probably got some rules on who and how she interacts with those she creates.”
She watched Lucinda frown and Nick reach out and touch her almost instinctively, as if he was trying to give comfort to his Luna. She didn’t understand that but let it go, maybe they too, or Lucinda wanted to speak with Selena but had never managed to do so.

She was set up in the room on the Alpha floor next to Mary’s room, and Lucinda asked her about all her clothing and where it was Mischa had shaken her head and stated simply, “I brought nothing with me at all bar my car and my phone. I didn’t stick around to pack, not with what I heard,
“I didn’t even wait to hear the rest of that conversation… I dare say there was going to be a lot of yelling on Christy’s part. I could only imagine. And how he explained that to her. I do not know, but Laud and I were out of there, before that she–wolf, who knew I was standing there listening, because she started that conversation knowing I was right there,
“Did it on purpose to remind me she’d won, gotten pregnant first, and was carrying the pack’s heir, could turn her eyes upon me, and blame me for what Anthony was telling her about how things were going to go for her and her pup.
“Before she could even start plotting and planning against me in full, to get rid of me from that pack, because that is now the only viable way any of her pups with him can get the seat of Alpha to that pack; if I’m dead before I produce any.” she stated, “The only thing that she–wolf thinks about is how to eclipse me, and become his one and only Mate.” and Mischa knew that to be true.
“I have already separated my account from the pack, and I have enough money to start over, because I worked my ass off and did overtime at every possible opportunity to save for leaving; in what I thought was going to the first week of January.
“I sold my old car, instead of trading it in as well, because I was told to buy it with pack funds by Anthony, because he was with Christy on my birthday and I made a point of mentioning it to him. Compensation, I’m guessing, he wouldn’t have expected me to spend so much either. I’m frugal at best.
“But I knew I was leaving, so… bought me a proper Luna’s car and got the top of the line model with all the bells and whistles.” She smiled. “Cost him a pretty penny, though he doesn’t know that, never asked me how much it cost, though he would have seen it sitting in the garage right next to his at times. Could have looked it up, I suppose.
“But couldn’t say anything. He told me to buy it. I’ll head into your pack town, or go into the city tomorrow
and buy new clothes and things I need. The only thing I wish I’d brought with me was my laptop and my
Luna’s Diary’s, they are still in my suite.” She sighed softly.
“That’s actually an easy fix. Just contact someone you trust to collect them and courier them down to you.

Lucinda stated, “Say your personal omega, she’ll have access to your suite daily and if he doesn’t know
you’ve left, he won’t be looking for it.”
“Ah, I didn’t think of that. I will do just that. Thank you, Lucinda.” She smiled.
“No worries, happy to help,” Lucinda stated and left her to her devices.
It wasn’t a small suite, not even a one–bedroom suite, a full luxury suite with three bedrooms. She sat
down on the couch and accessed her personal e–mail account on her phone, and pulled up that draft she’d

written, read through it once more and then hit the send button.
She then called Anne, her personal omega. “Hi Anne, could you do me a favor?” she asked.

“Of course I can, Luna, but… Where are you? You’ve been gone all day and it’s late now are you not coming back?”
“I left the pack, Anne, I’m not coming back.” She told her truthfully, “I also know you knew it was coming,” she stated. “Could you please courier my laptop down to the Rising Blue Lotus.”
There was silence for a long moment. “I can, um Mischa, you said you left, aren’t coming back, but I’ve seen the Alpha since you left, he still bears your filigree.”
“He does and will continue to, because I found out today he’s never going to let me go, will not accept or issue a rejection, I don’t think, is what I learned. He’ll not cause me any pain because that will cause Christy pain. It’s fine.”
She heard Anne sigh heavily. “I guess that is true. Is there anything else you want Mischa couriered down to you? Personal items of any kind. What about your diaries? I understand their not pack diaries.”
“They are not.” Mischa agreed and thought about that. She did want him to find them when he realized she was missing. “Leave them there, but can I get you to scan all the pages from the top book? It’s a lot to do, I know, but… I will need them for the study I’m attached to. If you scan them to a USB that would be great.”
“My son’s a tech, so I’ll have him do it. Likely quicker for him if that’s alright, Luna.” Anne asked.
“Yes, it’s fine, then I want you to just go about your normal daily routine as if I’m still there, clean the suite or pretend to, I guess. Use the time to sit and have coffee, watch a movie, read a book, take it as a paid break, every day. I give you my full permission.” She smiled.
“Why?” Anne asked, sounding confused.
“Because he doesn’t know I’ve left is why Anne, and I and Laud want to know how long it actually takes
him to realize that we’ve left him in full. I’m not far enough away for him to actually feel that ache in his
chest right now, I don’t think. So it’s going to go unnoticed by him until such a time as I am far enough
away for him to feel it.”
r
“Alright I understand; I’m keeping your room as is then, not clearing it out?” Anne confirmed.
“Yes, all my things I’ve accumulated over the course of our time together can remain there. I don’t need anything from him or our time together. He may have it all, to remind him of what he lost, because he only cares about Christy. I’d like you to leave my diaries right there on my desk in the suite for him to find one day, as well.
“So, he can see how my life truly was for the past three years, all he did and didn’t do. He’ll forever be bound to me now, as I will it to be, like he once did to me. After he finds them and reads them, he can
regret his own actions forever as well.
“That is the penance he must pay for trying to bind me with words of it’s the Will of the Goddess, when he
< CH 159

stopped abiding by the Will of the Goddess himself long ago. There is much in there for him to learn about me, and all I’ve put up with and done in the past year, for him to learn about his beloved Christy as well.”
“Alright Luna.” Anne stated.
“Anne, what you or your son learn from that diary, when scanning it, keep it to yourself. Let this play out the way I want it to. Christy is going to think she’s in the clear. Currently, she is behaving as a proper Luna because the Elders are watching her like a hawk. She will be blindsided by those diaries, and Anthony, well
he will be the one to blindside her, I imagine.”
“Yes, Luna.” Anne voiced, and she ended the call.
It was only 30 minutes later that she saw Letti’s name on her phone appear. When it rang, she answered it, “Hi Letti.”
“Hi, Rebecca is with me. Are you where Paul and Carol are?” Letti asked right away.
“I am.” She answered, “Where are you?”
“In your suite. None can come in here, without the code. We got your e–mail, as did 99% of the pack I see,” Letti murmured.
“Yeah, what can I say…” she kind of shrugged it off. “Did Kendrick or Dereck show Anthony?”
“Dereck got it, I was sitting right there next to him,” Rebecca told her. “He read it and kind of just sighed and dropped his head back on the lounge and stared at the ceiling… I muttered, we all knew it was coming, how many times did she say it.
“She even told us she could leave without rejecting him because he’d never cause Christy pains of
betrayal. He just nodded as he sat there for a long moment, and then I watched him delete it and tell me
to delete mine, he’s not going to show it to Anthony.”
“Kendrick still has it, but he archived it and told me to as well, told me, Mischa, that you are still a Luna to this pack, so your words in that e–mail are as good as you telling him yourself what you want. Until a rejection is issued from you or Anthony, you are still part of the leadership. I am to follow what you want as well, that he can see you didn’t include Anthony or Christy in this e–mail, so that is you asking none to say your name inside the pack again, and that includes him as well. He’s a good Beta Mischa, will abide by your wishes.”
“Okay, I didn’t really doubt them I was just curious is all. Though if they are aware, then why are you in my
suite?”
“Why not? That just makes it look as though we’re hanging out with you,” Rebecca answered.
“What made you leave so quickly and without packing or telling us?” Letti asked,
“I left when I understood Christy was going to kill me. I was there when Anthony told her that pup she’s carrying would never be an heir to the pack. That only my and his child could be.” She told them. “I turned and walked away, got in my car and left in the middle of their conversation.”
< CH 150

“Ah, then you didn’t get it all. That was just the beginning of the conversation. She didn’t like hearing it at all, Mischa. I’ll send you the footage of it. Becca and I were in the Luna’s office, and we came out to see only them. You were nowhere at the time. Left already I guess.”
“Likely so,” she nodded. “understood just how much what Anthony was telling her was going to truly put me in her sights. She’s getting help from her home pack, not the pack she came to Night Whispers from, but the one she was actually born into, in Minnesota.
“So I wouldn’t even need to be on pack territory, when that hit carne, and with her having full access once more to the pack’s funds, it’s just a matter of how much it would cost to have me run off the road or kidnapped and killed, left in a ditch somewhere with another packs scent attached to me to give her an alibi. It was simply time to go, and I and Laud knew it. We wasted no time in leaving.”
