She sat with Paul and Carol and smiled at them, “I think you should take the job offer, and that pack has no gamma–blooded wolves in it, so they need you, Paul. Your son or daughter will also be the next in line as well. This can only be a good thing.” She told them as they sat and had coffee and discussed it.
“What are you going to do, Mischa?” Paul asked.
“I’m going to go with you, of course. We can all travel together, bring Louise along as well. So there is a 2nd Gamma heir. I’m certain this Alpha will appreciate the thought.”
“Yeah, I’ve spoken to him before you got here, and he’s happy for any of my kin to come, all 50 of them if they want.” He nodded. “I believe some will follow, others will stay here for now, and a few are in talks with other packs as well. A lot going on since they all left Night Whispers,” Paul told her.
“To be expected.” She nodded. “I guess, seeing as I don’t have to start uni until August next year, it’ll give me time to settle in and see your little one be born as well.” She smiled. “I’m very happy for you, Carol.”
“Me to we weren’t even trying, it just kind of came out of nowhere, got past even you.” She chuckled softly.
“It did, I guess being preoccupied hinders that, but this just means it’s the right time is all.” Mischa nodded.
“Likely what Carol and I needed to give us that final push into leaving.” Paul nodded. “You did ask Carol and I to go with you. Maybe Mischa the moon goddess blessed us with a pup, so that we would go with you to wherever it was you were going. Because now we are going where you are,” he smiled. “She works in mysterious ways.”
I
“That she does. So now, I guess it’s just the decision as to when we go.” She thought about it and stated, “Let’s stay for the full moon here, it’s only five days away. That will also allow us to see the fallout of Christy’s decision to not invite Nick and his pack for the full moon. I’d like to see that is, and if she will tell him what she did or play it by ear and feign ignorance like she always does.”
They nodded. “That will give Alpha Declan time to hold his ball. He’s got one this full moon, I believe, and we can go the day after it’s over and that will get you there to the safety of his pack before you heat aş well, about six or seven days prior to it.” Paul nodded. “I’ve got his number, I’ll give him a call and speak with him, make the arrangements if that’s alright with you Mischa.”
She smiled at him. “You’re going to have to stop doing that, you know, I’m not your Lune anymore. You’re pledged to Nicholas right now and the moment you pledge loyalty to Alpha Declan, you’ll have to abide by his pack rules and laws, so best you just go about doing things as you wish. There is no need to refer to me at all,” she reminded him.
“Still my Luna as far as I’m concerned, until there is one I have to pledge loyalty to.” He told her and walked off to make that call.
She looked at Carol. “I think things are starting to work out, finally.”
“Are you really just not going to reject Anthony and be stuck to him forever?” Carol asked.
“Yes, unless something happens to Christy, I have no concerns. If she dies for any reason at all, and he suddenly recalls he is still mated to me, he doesn’t know where I am, will have no way of finding me. Though I imagine he’ll go right to Letti and Rebecca and ask them to talk to you, see if you know.”

“Likely so, to which my answer will be: I’m not part of that pack, so I am not required to tell him anything, and when he tries to pull the ‘I was your Alpha card, can’t you just help me out a little‘ I’ll tell him Paul is the Gamma to another pack and my loyalty is pledged to my new Alpha and Luna, he doesn’t need to
know there is no Luna.
“If he pushes it, I’ll tell him, you reap what you sow. If he doesn’t know where you are, or even when you left, that is all on him. I was gone before you were. That perhaps it was simply the Goddess‘ Will to see him punished for not remembering he had a Mate before Christy. So, Selena took you away quietly for him not to notice. Because he doesn’t deserve you.”
Mischa nodded. “A good plan, though how long before he finds out? That could be never.” She stated and looked to her phone when it rang and snorted as she saw Christy’s name right there on it. “I guess shit is hitting the fan,” she stated, and turned it to show Carol.
“Only calls you when she’s desperate. Huh.” Carol shook her head.
“Never calls me,” Mischa stated, and hit the reject button, then clicked onto the contact and hit delete and block. “Bye bye Christy.” She chuckled softly. “What happens up there in that pack is no longer my business. She wanted to be the one and only Luna, now she is and is only now just realizing her narcissistic ways aren’t going to be appreciated by other Lunas or Alphas, I’m guessing.” It was more than amusing to her.
“That or she’s learning the hard way. She has to have a legitimate reason to revoke mating ball invitations and doesn’t have one up her sleeve.” Carol snorted, as she looked at the time, “It’s been an hour, and she’s had the time to try and correct her faux par, to which Lucinda enlightened her too.
“Those non–affiliated Alpha’s are all telling her how it will be, I’m guessing that they are coming, as she invited them too, will turn up and if they are turned away it will spread very quickly that Night Whispers doesn’t uphold their own Mating Ball invitations, putting the pack into disrepute and damaging its reputation. She’s gotten herself into more than a pickle this time.”
She nodded, because that it would. “She actually needs my help right now, but I’m not cleaning up her mess. I told them both that long ago and reiterated it, right after Paul’s argument with Anthony, about what Christy said that saw all the Gammas leave that pack.”
“She’s truly blessed at screwing things up.” Carol agreed, “How long do you think it will be before Nick cans the alliance between himself and Night Whispers?”
“I don’t know, after the full moon I suppose. He knows I’m not going back, but is also likely waiting to see if Christy really is the downfall of that pack, and they end up getting attacked and calling him for help. Something I know he’s not going to go and do, because Christy insulted Lucinda as well as breached the pack alliance.”
She smiled at Lucinda 10 minutes later “Things inside your pack are about to get real. I just sent through the breach of mating ball protocol to both Anthony and Christy, yours got rejected and failed to send.”
“Hmm, I closed it out already, though I dare say that even though Anthony got the notice and the notification of the cancellation of my Luna Card, Christy, being the reigning Luna, has access to his emails and deleted them before he saw them. Because he never mentioned either of them. So don’t expect too
much.”
“Ah, but I’m devious myself and each sss was sent separately, not just as one that shows all the recipients, so it should look to her as if I’ve only sent it to her, let her delete it. It’s also code protected. I added a link

for a code to be delivered to their phone, so it can’t be opened without it, which also shows me they’ve opened it and read it. Kind of like what the Wolfen Council does to know it’s been read.”
“Hmm, I still foresee he won’t get it. Christy’s always on his phone.” Mischa shrugged. “She’s got her hooks into everything so she can control what she thinks is the narrative around herself, though the last time she did that it backfired, and she got 20 lashes by the elders and left on the shaming post for like three days as well.”
Lucinda shook her head. “Why do others need to have control over things that aren’t theirs… I’ll send one to Kendrick then, just in case, Nick will have his email.” She got up and walked away.
“Determined I see.” Carol chuckled.
“As stubborn as Nick himself, that’s why they butted heads in the beginning.” Mischa nodded.
Paul came over and sank down smiled. “Alpha Declan Talbot of the Whispering Moon told me to relay to you he is happy to welcome us all the day after the full moon.”
“Whispering Moon?” she asked as she thought about that and then snorted after thinking about it. “That could be taken as the Luna of Night Whispers, Whispering to the Moon, which saw help being granted by Selena herself.” She laughed. “It’s kind of fitting I think.”
Paul smiled at her. “I found it a bit odd myself and, yes, Declan does know the name of our former pack. He thanked me for accepting the offer of being the pack’s Gamma, said he’d prepare rooms for us all within the packhouse, and that he would love Louise to be the second. I’ve yet to tell her, I will go do that shortly… He has an odd request from me for you, Mischa.”
“For me?” she frowned a little.
“Hmm, there are no Luna–ranked wolves inside his pack, and he would like to know if you’d take on Luna Blessings for the pack’s pups, is all?” Paul asked her. “Nothing to interfere in the life you want to lead, just Blessings, his unit’s Mates handle the Luna’s Duties all bar Luna Blessings is all, he does those.”
“Oh, sure.” She nodded. “That’s easy and I like babies, so doing that is not an issue for me at all. Let him know I’m happy to do that.”
“Good because both his Beta and Delta’s Mates, Kitty and Serena, are with pup and due around the same time as Carol is, mid–January.”
୮
“Now that’s a treat, I guess you two getting pregnant was indeed the will of Selena. She had plans for you, and lined up your little bumpkin to the leadership of your new pack before you even knew you were going there.” She chuckled.
“Looking at it like that,” Paul murmured. “Then I guess Alpha Declan will be getting his own Luna soon, and they’ll be having a pup within the year themselves.”
“Most unit’s pups are born around the same time.” She nodded. “Hmm, though that also puts your pup at the same time as Anthonys too.” she murmured thoughtfully. “Letti and Rebecca?” she looked at Carol.
“Not as far as I know, we were all waiting on you and Anthony ourselves. So, like you on birth control all this time.”
“Best you stop taking that.” Mischa nodded.

“have the moment I found out I was with pup. You didn’t bring yours with you either,” Carol commented.” You left with nothing.”
“That I did, oh hey, here, check this out,” She accessed her sss and showed them the footage Letti had sent. “This is what had me leaving, and I think I was right to.”
They sat and watched it and Paul handed it back to her and shook his head. “I dare say she was looking to come after you in full after hearing all of that, knowing none of her pups will ever sit in the seat of Alpha. She started that conversation on purpose as well. I saw, to try and put you in your place when she saw you.
”
“I’m aware. Blew up in her face.” she snorted.
