She was called to Nick’s office just after lunchtime, and Paul and Carol strolled along with her. They’d been lazing about all day doing absolutely nothing at all. None of them had jobs here inside this pack and so, for the first time in years, they weren’t required to do anything at all.
He smiled at the three of them and motioned for them to sit, “Anthony got Lucinda’s e–mail. He called, and I was busy, had Lucinda give him the short end of the stick and schedule him to call me at a time that suits me. Not him.” He told them, “Apparently he’s at the human world office, and got that sss himself, but didn’t sound so happy. Lucinda told me.”
“He wasn’t, appeared confused about what was going on. I simply told him he’d have to deal with Nick for all pack alliance dealings. To call back,” Lucinda told them as she walked into the room.
Then she held out a piece of paper, “This was the sss I sent to Anthony. It’s addressed differently to Christy’s hers just states Luna Christy. His was worded in a way to let him know I’d sent each of you an sss regarding the matter.”
Mischa took it and read it:
“Alpha Anthony, Luna Mischa, Luna Christy,
I write to you in response to Luna Christy, breaching our pack alliance; mating ball clause. No invitation for your upcoming mating ball has been received by myself, my unit or Alpha Nicholas or any member of his Unit. I have checked.
I have placed a call to your pack and spoke directly with Luna Christy, as she was the one to pick up the phone. I have attempted to find out what the problem was, and why she was rejecting our pack; your allied pack, to attend your upcoming mating ball as per the pack–to–pack agreement stuck with Luna Mischa, and Alpha Nicholas upon becoming Allied packs.
I am aware you only hold two mating balls a year, but that clause in our alliance agreement states, ‘The Rising Blue Lotus will be invited to, but does not have to attend, all mating balls held by Night Whispers.‘
Luna Christy disrespected me the moment she picked up the phone, even after I addressed her properly and introduced myself. She claimed not to know who I was and demanded to know who my Alpha was, and what pack he ran.
I informed her, of course, and asked her why we were not invited to the above–mentioned mating ball, of which I was informed, and these are her exact words: ‘I’ll be running things differently from now on. This full moon you’re not invited because I’ve opted to invite all non–affiliated packs to bring in new blood. Your pack attends every mating ball we hold. So, not coming won’t hurt‘
Which I can, of course, understand: branching out and trying to see more of your pack’s wolves pairing up, (and with your current unexpected loss of wolves. Which I know because many of them are here inside my pack while sorting out other packs to go to or choosing to accept my sanctuary)
But then a moment later in the conversation, Luna Christy contradicted herself when I told her I wouldn’t advise that, it could put the pack at risk (just a little Luna to Luna advice, as we Luna’s do.) She stated a full contradiction by saying ‘Non–affiliated but not unknown.‘ Where her words, so by that alone it doesn’t mean only new blood to the pack.

To which I asked her to explain and asked if she was rejecting the Rising Blue Lotus, because she was not Tollowing the pack alliance agreement. To which she yelled at me about twisting her words. I have never been yelled at by Luna Mischa in all the years we’ve been affiliated, nor has Mischa declined to send an invitation.
I then warned her about alienating your allied packs by being disrespectful, and she yelled at me that “It’s just one mating ball, get over it, you can attend again in July.” I, as the Luna to the Rising Blue Lotus, am appalled at the way Luna Christy sees fit to not only not follow pack alliance deals, as you have signed them.
But at the full and utter lack of respect and all that was implied by her about not wanting to be allied to this pack. I have relayed this conversation to my Alpha Mate, Nicholas. The call between myself and Christy was recorded in full; he has heard it.
Attached below is the recording for you to hear how rude, arrogant and completely unaware of how she sounds to others. I am appalled at her lack of knowledge around who has to be invited of your allied packs, (unless she opted to ignore that part of our alliance, simply because she and Nicholas don’t like each other), and then when I requested an apology she not only refused to give one, she didn’t see a reason as to why she should offer one up.
I have now advised you of my offense take from your Luna, Christy, and will leave this in the hands of Nicholas from this moment forward, as you’re aware it is generally the Alpha to a pack that creates and rejects alliance deals. I, however, feel Christy’s breach of our pack alliance and her attitude towards me, the way she worded things, is her way of showing me she wants to sever ties with the Rising Blue Lotus.
I found dealing with Luna Christy unpleasant. I dare say only Luna Mischa can talk your pack into keeping the alliance deal with us, and if she can, it will be a whole new one and written into it will be how I expect Christy’s attitude and respect towards myself and this pack to be shown from this moment on.
Luna Lucina Frost, The Rising Blue Lotus.‘
Mischa chuckled. “You don’t mince words.”
“I played it up.” Lucinda shrugged. “She was rude to me, and I expected it, but them, there be, the consequences to one’s actions. She must learn she is not the be all and end all, that the world does not revolve around her. That she is just one she–wolf among millions. I’d love to see her come face–to–face with the Wolfen Council. I dare say she’d not be able to hold her tongue with them either.”
“It’s unlikely,” Paul nodded. “Is a narcissist and so only cares about herself and how to get what she wants, can’t see the bigger picture at all.”
“Doesn’t actually understand pack safety either,” Nick commented. “Lueinda wasn’t wrong in her assessment of what could happen if 200 or more wolves of unallied packs show up. She’s left the pack open for an in–house take–over. I could do it, got me plenty of good strong warriors. All it would take is Jeremy, Kevin or Braidy grabbing Christy in a choke hold, and me turning to Anthony and forcing him to bow down and hand the pack over to me in full.
“No bloodshed, either. We’re a unit of four, and I’m pure–blooded. Quick and clean is what it would be. I’d gain a second pack and likely put two of your Elders back in charge, after having them pledge loyalty to me. At this point, I don’t see the Elders fighting it either, do you?” he asked.
“No.” Mischa shook her head. “Might actually be a better option for that pack to remove him and Christy and reseat the Elders,” she acknowledged.

Her eyes moved to the phone on Nick’s desk as it rang, and she watched Nick glance at his watch. “On Time.” He stated and reached out and picked up the phone, hit the speaker button, “Alpha Nicholas
speaking.”
“Nicholas, it’s Anthony”
“What is it you want, Anthony?” Nick stated curtly as he leaned back in his chair. He wasn’t about to make this easy for Anthony and his tone implied that.
“I’d like to apologize for Christy’s behavior towards your Luna.”
“Why are you doing it? Can’t she pick up a phone and do it herself, is she to… oh I don’t know high and mighty to apologize for her own words and attitude? That is going to cost you a lot more than she has even considered, I dare say? Or does she simply not think she has done anything wrong to warrant having to apologize to Lucinda? I can only guess you listened to that recording.”
“I have listened to it, she was out of line right from answering the phone, and I’m not in the pack to deal with it in person,” Anthony stated. “But I called you directly to tell you I don’t wish to end our alliance agreement.”
“Hmm, you might not, but maybe after all I’ve heard now, from all the Gamma’s that left your pack, I’ll correct that, fled your pack in droves, because I’m told of Christy’s words and attitude towards them, and they all came here, which I believe is the same disrespect Lucinda was given. I can only foresee that pack of yours
“Unfortunately, turning into what this one once was, a place where the leadership cares nothing for the pack members, and the pack learns from the Luna and Alpha, that they only care about what they want to have for themselves.”
“I assure you that is not the case. I do care about the pack members,” Anthony stated, “Please don’t sever alliance with our pack over one conversation. I’m certain it’s not necessary.”
“Oh, you are, are you? I never liked Christy Anthony, and she doesn’t like me. With her in the Luna’s office and Mischa… is, where exactly? I couldn’t gauge that from the pack members I’ve taken in, but Lucinda did send an sss to her today, and it got rejected as no sss account existed.”
“What?” Anthony asked right back, and she heard the clear shock in his voice. Seems Christy was still doing what Christy did. “Mischa and I are still together. Yes, we’re at odds due to some unforeseen issues
C arising in the pack between Mischa and Christy that I have yet to be able to sort out…‘
“Sort out?” Nicholas cut him off. “I doubt there will be any of that. From ail I’ve seen over the past years. They hate each other or are you unaware of your two Lunas being at war with each other?”
“They don’t hate each other, and it’s not a war, just…” Anthony trailed off, and she knew why, he didn’t know how to put it.
Nick shook his head, “Anthony, I see you are either blind, deaf or plain stupid. They hate each other and one is likely to kill the other at some point. Mischa has told me point blankly she hates Christy, and if she ever goes missing or dies out of the blue, to look right at Christy for the reason behind it. That’s how much they hate each other. Or has that skipped your attention?”
There was silence on the line for a long time, and she knew it was because she herself had brought this up to him that if she got pregnant before Christy did, she believed Christy would try and kill the pup or both of

them
“Can we leave Mischa and Christy off the table, please? It’s not relevant to this conversation.”
“Hmm Not relevant!… Lucinda, do you feel it’s not relevant?” Nick asked.

“No, I feel it’s very relevant to our alliance dealings, seeing as Mischa was the one to broker it and bring us in and Christy is the one ruining it, I don’t think being affiliated with a pack where I have to deal with one such as Christy is something I want. I’ve never had a problem with Mischa, she’s always been polite and respectful. Takes advice and heeds advice, as well as gives it in return; like all Luna’s should, when dealing with others that have more experience in the matters they are talking about.”
