“Luna Lucinda, I can, of course, make it, so you only have to deal with Mischa. I know you two are quite close as well,” Anthony stated right back. “So that could be part of an amended alliance agreement.”
“Amended?” Nick murmured. “I don’t think an amendment is going to see this fixed. For one, no apology from Christy to Lucinda had been made yet, for her attitude and blatant disrespect in not acknowledging who Lucinda was. In fact, she played at not knowing who she was in full… A conscious decision on Christy’s part,
“Because we’ve been allied longer than you’ve been mated to her, and she does the meet and greet, has previously sent mating ball invitations addressed to Lucinda, Luna to Luna. That is the worst kind of offense one Luna can show to another,” Nick informed him.
“I’ll have serious words with her when I return to the pack this evening. I thought it was best to call you before doing anything else to let you know I don’t want the pack alliance falling through,” Anthony commented.
“Have serious words with her?” Lucinda voiced, interrupting them. “Is that all? Nick, if I did what Christy did, what would be the punishment for that?”
“You’d be made to formally apologize to the one you offended, in person. Kneel before this pack and explain yourself in full, with Kevin here sensing out if you truly meant each and every one of your words, and for each one you don’t mean it would bring you a lashing.
“You would kneel out the front of the packhouse, uncuffed or shackled, to show your sincerity, until such a time as the allied pack forgives you, and a new alliance deal is created, regardless of how long it takes or
inclement weather.
“If the pack alliance was with our strongest war assisting allied pack and couldn’t be reinstated, on the shaming post you would go, and one lash would be given for every year the alliance that formally stood, and was broken by you, would be given as a reminder of what you broke and not to do it again.” Nick laid out their pack laws on such a disaster.
“I can’t lash Christy or have her kneel for hours upon hours, ondays until this is resolved. She is currently pregnant, a few weeks along,” Anthony sighed.
“Right, so a talking to, is all she’ll get,” Lucinda commented drearily. “No actual ramifications for her other than you telling her it’s unacceptable and not to do it again, a gentle slap on the wrist because she’s carrying your heir.” She shook her head.
“I wonder how many times you’ve done that with her before; let things slide and seen it doesn’t work in correcting her behavior. I sent that e–mail for a reason, not just to be petty but so that Christy could see there are actual real–world consequences to her words. If I did not, and ‘Get over it, as she told me too.
“What, Anthony, is to say that come July she won’t just do it again, because she feels she can. Saw that nothing happened now, so she knows nothing will happen to her in the future. If I let it go, this sets a precedent for her to walk all over me and this pack. State ‘What’s the big deal, you didn’t care about the mating ball clause before!
“So why whinge about it or try and act upon it now? You didn’t care about it back then… Do you see the problem here? She is, I believe, trying to do just that. If I drop it and blip over this breach, then she can, and

Idare say, will, use it against me in the future.” Lucina explained her own actions, and how she saw things could possibly go from this moment onwards.
“I understand what you’re saying, that would not happen. I will make sure of it,” Anthony told her.
“Oh and how will you do that, a verbal dressing down only? What she said and how she spoke to me today, I don’t think a simple dressing down is going to fix.” Lucinda stated flatly.
“She’s also not even written and sent a formalized e–mail apology for her breaching the pack’s alliance clause on mating balls, and it’s been what? How many hours, Anthony?” Nick asked. “I don’t think it’s coming. She’s not the type to take responsibility for her actions. I know this, because I’ve seen it in action. She’s also not called back to apologize for telling Lucinda to get over it… I also didn’t like, and take personal insult to, Christy calling Mischa ‘the old Luna.‘
“Was she referring to the fact that she’s eclipsed everything about Mischa’s life or insulting her age? And well, if it’s the latter, I saw Christy in July as well as Mischa. Christy looks much older than Mischa does herself, so if you say it was related to her age;
“Then she is inferring that she’s prettier and more youthful looking than Mischa, who..” Nick looked at Mischa, “Could, in my opinion, pass for being 22, but Christy looks to me as though she’s what? Jeremy, mid–30’s?”
“Yes, I’d say like 35 already,” Jeremy answered.
“I cannot speak as to why Christy stated those words.” Anthony sighed. “I’ll have her write the apology addressing all her mistakes when I return to the pack.” He muttered.
“Oh, so, what you’re saying is she doesn’t know she’s in the wrong, because if she did, you wouldn’t have to make her apologize or tell her to write one. She’d, in fact, be desperately calling us to try and sort it out before you got back to rip her a new one and punish her.” Nick shook his head once more. “I see…
” guess she’s got you wrapped around her little finger, and you’ll believe her words over ours. She’s going to tell you she’s sorry but not us.” He sighed “Mischa would never be so irresponsible. I’m surprised she’s still bound to you at all.”
“Mischa and I are still bonded, and she is still my Luna, still resides inside Night Whispers. Is not going to leave me, Nicholas, no matter what you do or say. We’ve been together for two decades and our bond is good and strong. Time will fix things;
୮
“I’m giving her the space she asked for. I did not step her down from the pack’s Luna’s position. Please let’s just all take a breath, and a day to calm down, and I will see things being sorted out,” Anthony stated.
“Hmm a day, you say. I don’t think you understand the ramifications or the true extent of your position, Anthony. Let me lay it out for you so you can lay it out for Christy… when you get home, of course, because she has no idea what offending my Luna means to me; In offending Lucinda, you’re offending me, and this entire pack is how I see that.
“I and my pack are your pack’s legal team, so from this moment onwards, all partnership stops between you and me, until, as you say, you can sort this mess out. I will, however, still do business with Mischa. I wonder, Anthony, if you actually know just how much money your pack owes me and my legal team… I’m guessing not.
“Because if you did, you’d be here in person begging on your knees and have Christy right there beside you.

You’d never have let Christy insult anyone from my pack, let alone my Luna. You’d stress the point of not breaching our mating alliance agreement, which was reached not with you, but with Mischa,
“It was kind of like an unwritten insurance policy, for her to get what she wanted, accounting wise, from me… Do you know my law firm also has a legal contract with your pack accountant, as to how the bills are to be paid, and what clauses lay out breaches of that contract.
“I wonder now if you left that solely up to Mischa and just signed on the dotted line without actually reading it. Though I’m certain she explained the breach of contract clause to you before you signed, and you saw nothing wrong with it, it’s quite simple and agreeable,
“Something easily forgotten because it was not considered to be a detriment to your pack at the time, but now, is it? I know it was written years ago, but surely you recall what it’s tied to? … your mating balls and our getting an invitation to them just in case you forgot.” Nick informed Anthony of the real problem Christy had caused.
“Mischa dealt with that, I admit, I leave all accounting contracts up to her, and…” Anthony sighed heavily now. “I had forgotten about that very thing, I see.”
“That accounting contract on how your pack pays its legal fees is unlike any other I’ve made. It’s not something I make your pack pay in full with each bill that is sent. But I agreed with Mischa to have rolling monthly fees that get adjusted with each new contract, you have my team attend to. This way, each new legal bill is paid off over six, monthly installments.
“It’s not the standard three weeks I offer others. I allowed this in the beginning because you needed it, and couldn’t really afford me or my team, but needed better, more secure legal help from being screwed over by other packs.
“Mischa, came to me at my head office with a full accounting plan laid out, nothing was missed and the interest she offered to pay me, 5% on top of each bill to get this payment plan approved, was devised by her as a way to seal the deal. She is level–headed, responsible and accounted for every last dime, offered what the pack could feasibly afford as a bonus for my granting this type of payment system,
“That 5% was to show you and your pack were earnest in wanting this alliance with us. Those two mating balls are a way for me to see, twice a year your pack is feasible and not going under, was still clearing your debts, and then growing and becoming profitable.
“So, I could see the bills will continue to get paid, and the contract remains as is, because it works for Mischa to help generate more revenue via monthly interest in your accounts, I believe. But I have the option to cancel that very contract, anytime I see fit, and make you pack pay every bill on time. That is solely at my discretion when to end that contract.
“Now, Christy has just broken your pack’s accountant’s contract with my legal team by denying my right to visit and check the status of your pack. Told to come back next year in July. So I will take this as she doesn’t want me to see the state of your pack, and her calling Mischa the old Luna,
“I’ll combine that with those of your pack that are now here inside my pack, not knowing how to explain to me Mischa’s status inside that pack, as something is wrong inside your pack. Do you understand now…”
