“Yes,” Anthony muttered “I do recall something about that accounting contract being like that, though I admit I did let Mischa handle it in full. That is solely her department, because I trust her judgment in full; she’d never harm the pack… dare say Christy is unaware of that clause and this is what the error she has made stems from.”

“I’m glad you know that Mischa is good to the pack, and would never harm it, but it seems to me, Anthony, you put too much faith in your other Mate, who believe has no education. As for Christy being unaware of that clause, why do you think that is?… Was Mischa lacking in not telling her about it in the beginning?

“Do you think Mischa was lax in that department, or do you think it’s more likely that Christy just didn’t care to listen and learn from Mischa about all the important things she needed to learn… Because she doesn’t like Mischa, hmm?

Because I believe Mischa actually told me herself, Elder Luna Debbie trained her and passed her as competent in all aspects of Luna Duties, which would include Christy being shown and learning all the pack clauses.

“Around not only mating balls. But what are considered pack alliance breaches, so she knows how to avoid doing that. Yes… So, seeing as Christy is the reigning Luna, as she informed Lucinda, and Mischa has stepped back, again Christy informed Lucinda of this, which I guess she’s telling all your allied packs

“This is you allowing Christy to speak for the pack in full, because only you have the right to tell your allies that you’ve unseated one of your Luna’s yet, you’re letting Christy do it openly. So let me officially inform you, of how I’m going to put her in her place for you; seeing as you say you can’t, because she’s pregnant.

“I’m officially canceling the accounting contact I have with your pack, that Luna Mischa secured. i am calling in every debt you owe to my law firm; I’ll have my legal team look at the accounts and send out each bill separately.

“They go back six months; some will only have that final payment on them, others from this past month will be in full etcetera. I hope you can explain this to Mischa, in a way she doesn’t lose it, and leaves you over letting Christy run your pack back into the ground.

“You’ll have the standard three weeks to pay them, from the day they’re sent to you, or you’ll be in breach of our contract, and I’ll see you in court because some of them will be considered months overdue the moment you get them.”

“Nicholas please.” Anthony rushed out as he realized Nick was going to hang up.

“No, it’s too late. I think you need to go and beg Mischa for help now. Like I said before, I’ll only be dealing with her from now on. You are not a reliable Alpha to me anymore,” Nick reiterated his stance and clicked the line closed. He looked at Mischa. “I’m going to do as I stated.”

She nodded, expected as much. “That contract you and I have states that if it’s breached, you are still entitled to the 5% on each bill.”

“I know.” He nodded. “Can he afford to pay it all?” Nick asked.

“Hmm, I’d say yes, but it won’t leave the pack that much left over. He’ll have to stop all pack cards, including his own and Christy’s, for probably a year, and that luxurious nursery she’s likely planning is now out the window. Though it’s possible she’s already shopped online and spent thousands without his knowledge, I stopped keeping track. She does like to spend pack money as if it grows on trees.”

“Yet she earns nothing for the pack herself,” Paul commented.

“It’s not my problem anymore. I did everything I could to get that pack up and running; out of the red and into the black and what did it get me, being shoved aside and nothing more… He won’t be alone in that office right now either, Kendrick and Dereck will be there listening, fuming, I imagine.”

“I bet he just flipped his desk over in that office,” Carol stated. “Not only a breach of mating ball, but accounting to legal contracts as well. I doubt she can talk her way out of that one. She’s already tried to

call Mischa.”

Mischa nodded. “I rejected it and blocked her. I told Anthony I would not clean up after them anymore. If she can make the mess, she has to learn to deal with cleaning up the mess.”

“She can’t fix this one,” Nick stated. “I’ll not bug my legal accounting department today. I’ll have them start sorting that out tomorrow. So, he’s got tonight to call you and beg you. I’d like to know if he makes a demand of you or actually asks you to help.”

She nodded and then Nick held his hand up, and she watched him frown as he turned to his computer, accessed something on their and then leaned back in his chair and shook his head. “Christy just sent a mating ball invite directly to me. Lucinda?” he asked

She logged in on Nick’s computer and shook her head. “No, gone around me directly to you.”

“Hmm, trying to cover her ass I’d say. Because there’s not even a note or addressing to me. Just a blank e–mail with an attachment that opens to the mating ball invite.”

“Too late,” Lucinda stated.

“I’d be expecting one from Anthony himself as well. It’s likely to come when he gets home to the pack,” she stated. “It’s not actually Anthony that doesn’t want you there, it is actually Christy, and only Christy.” She sighed. “Even if I was there in the pack, this would still happen because I’m not the reigning Luna.

“I’d have apologized to you, Lucinda, as my brain ticked, and to be honest with all that’s happened, I’d have directed you to call Christy. I’d have told you she’s in charge of mating balls. So… This right here, inevitable regardless of me being in that pack or not… though I think Nick would have called me directly after you went to him about her disrespect.”

“I would have.” Nick nodded.

“And I’d have told you to deal with it how you see fit.” Misha nodded.

“Which, would be this here and now.” Nick stated.

She walked from the office and left them to sort out the pack alliance issue, and stated, “I’m hungry, let’s

They did just that, and she was sitting there chatting with other former Night Whisper pack members, when her phone rang 40 minutes later and Anthony flashed up on the screen. She looked at it and let it ring for a long time before picking it up. “Yes, Alpha.” She answered it formally.

There was a pause for a full 10 seconds as he absorbed the way she addressed him. She’d done it on purpose, because he’d just learned Christy was telling their allies she’d been stepped down. Nick had pointed it out to him.

“Misch, there is a pack issue I need help with,” he finally stated. She rolled her eyes at the sudden shortening of her name, he was trying to sway her with familiarity. That wasn’t going to work.

“Hmm, nothing accounting–wise flagged me this past week.” She stated right back. “So, how can I help you?”

“Where are you? It sounds noisy there,” he asked, and she could hear the frown in his voice.

She looked at the dining hall. There were at least 50 or 60 wolves in here eating and talking. “I’m having dinner,” she answered.

“Are you in the pack?” he asked directly.

“No,” she answered before he could attempt to track her pack tether. “I’m out having dinner in an allied restaurant.” It wasn’t a lie, technically she was. If he actively pulled on that tether he’d probably realize she was more than just an hour away, and she didn’t want him doing that, but if she stated she wasn’t in the pack he wouldn’t pull on it at all.

“I need you to come home and help the pack,” he asked once more.

“Is it accounts relatable?” She asked. “I have nothing to do with anything that Luna of yours does. If she creates a mess, she has to clean it up on her own. I told you this before.”

“See, I told you she wouldn’t help. I tried to call her and tell her I made a mistake, ask for her help, admit I was wrong, and she wouldn’t pick up, then she blocked me.” She heard Christy’s state.

“Did you really ignore…

“Yes,” Mischa cut him off. “Why the hell would you think I’d pick up Christy’s call, after all she’s done to me.

“See how she speaks about me.” Christy burst out. “So disrespectful.”

Mischa rolled her eyes, “Yes, I am. But I own it when I do it. I don’t care what happens to you. Go jump into the canyon again and play the victim.”

She saw both Carol and Paul snort with laughter, and she smiled at them.

“Mischa!” Anthony gasped and she rolled her eyes.

“Oh, my bad, she accidently fell into the canyon that’s what? A mile long and half a mile wide in broad daylight, because she didn’t see it… Oh and when, on the one day when you were going to be seen out in public with me. Or did you conveniently miss that?”

“Enough.” Anthony roared, and she smiled. He was exasperated and ticked off, likely because he now found it difficult to have two mates. He’d always used that excuse with her, but now he actually was finding it difficult because she was making it difficult for him, because she no longer cared how he felt. Thought it was fun to tick him off.

“What did the selfish bitch do now? I can’t help if I don’t know what she did,” she finally stated.

She heard him take in a deep breath and try to calm himself down, “Can you just come home so we can all talk in person?”

“I have no inclination to be in a room with that she–wolf, who admitted to wanting me gone and you to reject me… So, no thanks.” She answered simply enough.

“Mischa, she was punished for that,” he muttered.
