“I wonder why she’s now targeting your strongest ally, Anthony, and I heard from Nick she’s bringing in all unallied packs; that’s a deadly game. How many did she actually invite, I wonder. Do you know? On that note, I’ll be elsewhere for the mating ball. See my way to going to the Rising Blue Lotus. I’m not risking my life to your Luna’s stupidity!”
“It’s not like that, Misch. I have checked the packs coming. One is her home pack. She reached out to them, and two of them are allied to that pack, and so, although unaffiliated, they are affiliated with where she came from. And the other one I’ve heard of, there are no bad rumors about them,” Anthony explained.
“Is she looking to have her home pack Alpha come in and take over? Because, from my perspective, that’s a full possibility, I found out something about the hacking of the pack, Anthony. Those hackers came from out where Christy’s original home pack is, in Minnesota. Not the one she came from to us, but the one she was born into.
“Who you just stated she invited along with two of their allies, who are probably from Minnesota, and how many from those three packs are coming, 50 or 60 each plus the full Alpha Unit?” she queried. Then, just to see if she could kick his brain into gear, she added, “And what did those hackers delete mostly? All of Christy’s crimes. Coincidence or not, I now wonder from what I’m hearing you’re saying.”
There was silence on the phone for a long time, and she let him think it through because he really did need to right that minute. “Anthony, one of the highest–ranking bloodlines in full for the pack, is now gone, and at Christy’s doing no less. Those Gammas might not be ranked members but are as strong as any Gamma in leadership.
“Now your strongest ally is also not going to be there at that mating ball, when he would normally be attending it. A pure–blooded Alpha and you know yourself, Jeremy, Kevin and Braidy are all as deadly as Nick is. Because of what their pack was like growing up. So, your pack is weakening by the day.”
“I don’t want to lose the alliance with Nicholas, and Christy assured me she has sent an invitation to them
now.”
“Hmm, it might be too little too late,” she stated.
“You can resolve this. I know you and Nicholas are close. You and Lucinda, her unit, are also close. Please help me to help keep the pack safe?” he implored her.
୮
“It’s not me that offended them. I’m not going to apologize on Christy’s behalf. Why should I? Perhaps Anthony, you should drag her ass to the Rising Blue Lotus and have her kneel down in front of Nick and Lucinda, apologize in person, be warned she’ll have to truly mean it. Kevin will be right there to sense out every word and emotion from her.
“And I’d be canceling that mating ball yourself, with all the packs she knows that you don’t know until your alliance deal is back in place with Alpha Nicholas. On the grounds a suspected treason event is happening within the pack.
“Or you feel war is about to be upon your pack, and you don’t want them in the crossfire, being they’re unaffiliated and unknown, you’re protecting them and their packs. I’d mention it’s the Rising Blue Lotus that has been offended and alienated by your pack’s reigning Luna, and that’s where the possible war is coming from.

“That should stop anyone coming. None want to go up against Nick. He’s got a thousand dedicated warriors he can bring to war all by himself without risking the security of his own pack.” She told him what she thought he should do to protect that pack from an in–house take–over.
“I hear you,” Anthony replied. “I will cancel the mating ball. Thank you for your advice and giving me a way out of holding it, without being seen as not following protocols. Protecting the pack and its reputation.”
“Hmm, unlike your other Mate,” she commented.
He sighed. “It’s quiet. Where are you?”
“I opted to stay in the city. I don’t want to be harassed by you or that Mate of yours, over her stupidly spoken words to Lucinda, to have you come and try and force me to fix her mistake.” She stated. “You get to now see the mess she made in full, and you can find a way to fix it. I’ve given you my advice on the matter.”
“You have and I’ll be heeding it… But… are you still going to go to the Rising Blue Lotus for the full moon?” he asked, and she even knew why.
Her eyes closed, and she shook her head. “Yes.” She answered and waited for it.
“Then could you see your way to discussing this and sorting this out in person? With Nicholas and Lucinda, they did state they would only deal with you.” He asked her, pulling them right back to what he wanted.
“I have spoken with them today. Nothing I say can bring about a new alliance deal without Christy’s full formal in–person apology with Kevin right there to make sure she is earnest. I have heard the recording just so you know of that conversation with Lucinda.
“Christy has officially stepped me down from the leadership to your allied, so I’m not actually at liberty to help you or her, seeing as I no longer hold any title in that pack of yours and hers, so it’s even a stretch at this point for me to help, now isn’t it. I hold no power to make any deals for you or that pack with Nicholas, as per your reigning Luna’s words.”
“What, no. I informed Nicholas we are still bonded, and you’re still my Luna. I have not stepped you down, and I will not be.” Anthony rushed out.
“Hmm, just so I can clean up your Luna’s mess, I’m guessing… Or that is how I see it, so realistically, Anthony, all that’s left is for you to officially voice a rejection now. Would you like to do that right now? I understand my place very clearly, both you and Christy have made that clear to me.
“So, I will accept your rejection right now, and Christy will be your one and only Luna and I will no longer be indebted to you, to the pack, and therefore not required to clean up after either of you.”
“I’m not going to reject you. Things are difficult at the moment between us. I understand that, but we live long lives and, as that study said, it can take years for us to regrow trust and come back together. I am willing to wait and do that. I’ve told you this before, Misch, I’m not going to reject you…”
She heard him sigh, “As for that pup Christy is carrying, it’s not the heir to the pack, it will never be. I did not announce it as the heir, and I’ve informed Christy of that as well. Only yours and mine, when we have one, will be the heir to this pack. You are still, in my eyes, the 1st Luna of this pack. I didn’t ask you to step down, you did that of your own accord. I didn’t want it, I would much prefer you were in the seat of Luna. Move your desk back into the office.”

She shook her head. “Only now, after she’s screwed up royally, do you want me back in that seat, to fix what she did.” She sighed, “Anthony, listen to me and take in what I am about to say to you and don’t dismiss it. I will not repeat myself again… There will be no help for Christy, from me. She does not deserve my help,
“She has done nothing but try and get rid of me and take everything that was mine from me since the day you accepted her. Now she has managed to do that, get everything she wants, and you enabled her. You didn’t punish her properly, so this what is happening now is your own fault. How she behaves is a result of your constant pandering to her.
“She truly believes she can do and say as she pleases, because you’ll never punish her. She believes that the pack is hers, not yours, and that is why she spoke to Lucinda the way she did and severed the pack alliance with the Rising Blue Lotus, because Anthony. She believes she has the right to do that.
“Then when you get angry about something or annoyed with her, she’ll fuck you stupid, literally. Until you smile and wave it off, tell her it’ll be fine and forgive her, because she’s probably let you fuck yourself limp inside of her.”
She heard him gasp at her crudeness, but she didn’t care, and she ignored it. “So, if you still truly see me as your Mate and Luna, then as your 1st Luna, I’m going to hold you, Alpha Anthony, fully accountable to the pack for this event, as is my right as the Luna of the pack to do so.
“Which means I am also holding Christy fully accountable and explainable for her actions against our strongest business and war–assisting allied pack, for this colossal mess. As the Night Whispers 1st Luna, what I believe needs to be done to even begin to fix this, is a remorseful, heartfelt apology from Christy to Luna Lucinda.
“Then she will have to again, apologize to Alpha Nicholas and ask him to please reinstate, or please be inclined towards writing up a new pack alliance. If you and she can do this, be fully 100% accountable for her actions, with no trying to excuse her behavior, or push the blame onto another.
“Then I, as the 1st Luna, will see to going and speaking with Nicholas on Night Whispers‘ behalf and sorting out that new alliance, because I feel it will be a whole new one, and although I don’t know what Nicholas and Lucinda’s new clauses will be… I dare say every single one of them will have to be agreed to from not only yourself but Christy
“No matter what they are, or how many there are, if they appear to be in any way offensive to Christy herself, or show a lack of respect towards her, which knowing Nick as well as I do, and the offense Christie dished out, there will be something in there along the lines of she has to bow her head to him.
“That she is to be on the steps to greet hirn and bow her head to him whenever he arrives, or maybe even every time he walks past her while he is there inside the pack. So, she never forgets to respect him or his pack.”
She heard him scrub a hand over his face as he understood Nick would likely do something like that. He was big on respect, and didn’t care how he came across to others when punishing those that needed it. That’s why he was feared and respected out there by other packs.
That one thing would show their allies that Christy had offended him, and this was the punishment she had to endure until Nick saw fit to stop it. Humiliating Christy in front of their allied packs who were going to want to know what she’d done to warrant that, and Anthony knew Nick would state why without hesitation; likely also add that as a clause.

“Fine, set it up.” Anthony muttered.

“Oh no, you and Christy have to set it up, that’s on you. I’ll only do my part if you and she can do yours. I wish you luck, Alpha,” she stated and clicked the line closed.
