The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 169

CH 169

Letti had called her the following morning, and Mischa smiled when she greeted her. How are things, Letti?she asked, You and the units doing alright?

Hmm, we’re good, there’s things going on here now that are interesting, and I called you because I think shit is about to go down inside this very office in like 10 minutes or so. So, I’ll not hang up when it does, and you can hear it firsthand, so just wait there on the line when I go quiet,” she’d been told.

Why?had been Mischa’s response.

Your Luna’s desk has been retrieved and is here in the Luna’s office once more. I knew nothing about that happening. As you know, Christy had her desk placed exactly where yours used to sit.’

Mm,” she nodded. It was to be expected, that of course she would. Overlaying her scent right where Mischa used to be.

It wouldn’t surprise her if Christy got Anthony to have sex right there on that desk either, just in case she and he had memories there, so that he wouldn’t think about him and her doing that over the past decades, and so only thought about him and Christy having sex there now.

Well, your desk is now where it once used to be, and there are flowers on it, and a card. I took the liberty of reading it. The card reads, Mischa, welcome back to your office, love AnthonyAnd Christy’s desk, well, that has been moved and not put back to where it was when you were sitting in here as the reigning Luna.

He’s rearranged the entire office bar your desk, it’s well, laid out in a manner that shows the full hierarchy of this office. My and Becca’s desks are directly after yours on either side and then Christie’s is by the door on the other side of the sitting area. He brought that further into the room. It shows the separation of the two of you.

It also, I believe, to show there is a full distinction between you and her, as in who holds the power and full title of reigning Luna to this pack. The way the room is actually laid out now, Mischa, it also kind of separates you and us from her, as if we are your unit and not hers, and she is to defer to myself and Becca as well.Letti told her

There are also no flowers on Christy’s desk,” Rebecca snorted with amusement, I think she got demoted without being told, getting blindsided by her own Mate today.”

Hmm, like she blindsided him by having Lucinda sever ties over her actions.Mischa chuckled softly. I guess this is one of the consequences she can’t for the life of her see happening.

Christy has yet to see any of this but is on her way here now, I can sense. None of us even knew he’d done it. We just walked in and saw it,” Letti stated.

They’re at odds over the alliance falling apart, and she got kicked out of the Alpha Suite, by Anthony, after he talked to you last night. Whatever you said to him in private, he’s not taken it lightly.Rebecca murmured

There was a yelling match on the Alpha floor over her not being granted permission to move into the Luna Suite either, even though she’s pregnant with his heirhe yelled that pup would never be the heir because she wasn’t a shewolf worthy of being a Luna, so she couldn’t live in the Luna Suite.

It was long and loud and came down to him yetting at her, she wasn’t worthy of being a Luna, because of what she’d caused to happen with Alpha Nicholas, the severing of the pack and, until she fixed it, you were the only reigning Luna in this pack.Letti murmured.

She was moved into the room down across from Dereck’s and my room,” Rebecca muttered, Shh.She whispered.

She’d shaken her head, why he bothered to argue for her now, when she wasn’t even there, and he didn’t even know she wasn’t there was beyond her. She realized Christy was about to walk into that office. And that was why the shushing.

What thewas gasped a minute later.

Don’t look at us, Christy. We’re still standing here looking at it ourselves.Letti had stated, We did not do this.

I did.Came Anthony’s voice, and it was all Alpha she could tell even through the phone. Mischa’s not in yet?he asked.

I’ve not seen her this morning,Letti commented. Does she know you did this?she followed up.

Her desk is gone from up there. It will be obvious to her when she goes there. I’ve taken it and brought it back down here, after our conversation last night,” Anthony stated.

Why is my desk by the door and all theirs over there with Mischa’s?Christy demanded to know.

You’re bloody lucky it’s in here at all. If you want to argue with me about it. I can have it moved into the foyer or outside the packhouse altogether if you want. Keep being disrespectful and see what it gets you.” He snapped at her.

I’m the Luna of this pack.

Not anymore, I told you that last night. Until you bring that alliance back, you’re nothing. You will go and speak to Mischa and be apologetic, plead with her to help us fix your screwup because I have done everything I can. You and your filthy words unseated her in Nicholas and Lucinda’s eyes, and she’s already spoken to them.

Claimed she has no obligation anymore to help this pack, or clean up after you. Because you ousted her from the leadership without my permission. Just like you severed ties with Nicholaspack, without my fucking permission. So, I expect you to get on your knees, something I personally know you’re good at, and fix this fuckup you created.”

Then there was a banging of the door, and she could only presume that was Anthony leaving the room. There was just silence coming from that room now, and she had a feeling it was just Christy standing there with her fists balled, glaring at Letti and Rebecca even though it wasn’t their fault.

Should I call Mischa for you?Letti asked casually after two minutes of silence.

Like that bitch would help me.Christy snapped.

Whose fault would that be? That she won’t help youYours and yours alone.Letti stated We’ve got work to do. Why don’t you go shopping! It’s what your good at. Spending pack money and nothing more.

She heard the snarl come from Christy and then Letti’s voice with full warning behind it, I will hit you

regardless of you being pregnant. That ain’t the heir to the pack, in your belly,” Letti stated.

He’ll banish you for it,Christy grated out.

Hmm, and lose his Beta, just days after he lost his Gamma because of youI don’t think that’s going to happen.” Letti commented. I heard him the other day, speaking in the foyer, traitorous tendencies he voiced. Which means you actually have no rights inside this pack, and neither does that pup. Unless he’s in a good mood and willing to protect you, do you think he will right now, with what you’ve caused? Or will you wanting me banished? just see him recall Paul’s words about his unit having to watch their backs; they’d be your next target.”

There was a frustrated half scream come from that room and then another door banged shut. Ah, she can’t take what she dishes out.Rebecca snorted.

I don’t think she’s going to be coming back into this office,Letti chuckled. What do you want to do about the flowers, Mischa?

Whatever you like,” she stated simply.

Hmm, I’ll have Anne take them to your suite.Letti chuckled softly.

The days passed after that, and not so quietly for herself, she was called by Anthony several times a day, and it appeared just for him to ask how she was, trying, she thought, to be a kind, caring and loving Mate, to cajole her into returning to the Luna’s office he’d even gone so far as to send her a picture of it.

She didn’t actually believe he cared. It was simply his MO she knew, something he did when she talked about a rejection and nothing more, trying to make her believe he didn’t want that. Then he asked her where she was on one occasion, and she wondered if that was because he’d gone looking for her and not found her in her accountant’s office, or in her suite. Tugged on that pack tether and realized she wasn’t in the pack.

She’d told him she didn’t always stay in the pack anymore, was often out of her office, and Bart was attending more duties for the pack inside the pack, that she often left the pack to attend business with Ms Latrell and others. He’d just never cared to notice before now.

That she saw no need to always stay inside the pack, after Christy was seated in the Luna’s office, then on another occasion she’d told him with all that had happened, and the colossal mess Christy had caused, she’d opted to go into the city and work from her office that’s why she wasn’t in the pack.

She was now as busy as she had been over tax time. She didn’t have time to deal with him at the moment. The pack came first, not him and their mate bond. They had very long lives, as he’d pointed out to her on many occasions, so their bond could wait.

He’d been unhappy about the way she’d put it, but couldn’t argue with her. She was right on all fronts, and it was what he stated all the time.

Nick had also done exactly what he’d told Anthony he would: had his law firm’s accounting department print out those invoices and each one had been put in a separate envelope, and they were all placed into a box, and it was then driven up to the pack by one of his own warriors.

To be signed for by Anthony and Christy. So, they could both see the fallout of what she’d done. He’d also sent a formal letter of pack alliance severance to not only Anthony, but to Christy herself, stating he would give them 7 days to show remorse and sincerity and have Christy come and kneel before his Luna and

apologize and if his Gamma didn’t read her as being honest, then they would be asked to leave.

He’d formalize the severance of their two packs to all his other allies so that everyone knew they were not to have his pack at a mating ball with Anthony’s pack. Which also showed Anthony and Christy that he was telling everyone Night Whispers wasn’t back by the Rising Blue Lotus anymore, regardless of whether those packs were affiliated with Night Whispers or not.

Which meant it was going to spread quickly to even their enemy packs, of which they had plenty from Anthony’s parents reign.
