She got out of her car, but didn’t walk directly over to meet and greet that Alpha and his unit, all their mates. It wasn’t her place to do so, and she knew that, she was simply a guest here for the time being and nothing more.

But as she leaned on her car and watched him do the introduction, she really looked him over and couldn’t help it. She was not different to any other she-wolf out here, and that Alpha he was all tall, dark and handsome, and the tall part was an understatement. He was, she thought, the same height as Nick, nearly seven feet tall, or close enough to it.

Goddess, he was going to tower over her. He already stood nearly half a foot taller than all in his unit, and he practically dwarfed Carol and Louise, and they were both taller than she was. Misha only stood at five-foot-six.

But damn didn’t he have them good Alpha genes! Even if she’d not been informed he was pure-blooded, just looking at the sheer size of him would tell her that. He was not only tall but frad massive shoulders and chest, and it made his narrow waist stand out in the polo shirt he was wearing. She couldn’t see the muscles under that shirt, but she was willing to bet an eight-pack, not a six-pack.

He had wild, wavy, almost curly hair that was a little longer than most Alpha’s would have, but she thought it actually suited him, and it kind of gave him a casually ruggedly handsome look, in his everyday pack life clothes. It was going to take some getting used to seeing a man that hot walking about.

But she also knew if he combed that wild hair and tamed it a little, put on a nicely fitted suit to go into the human world, he’d be considered a corporate CEO that was hot, likely he was going to be sexy as hell in a suit in the office. She had to shake it off, and remind herself that was what most Alphas were, especially pure bloods; they got the best genes.

She could see that his slightly unruly hair, it was a very dark brown, out here under the sun’s light, and likely could look black when not in the sunlight. The darkest shade of brown one’s hair could get, she thought, and it suited him, matched everything about him.

She was supposed to be just watching him greet Paul and do the introductions to his unit, but she knew she was doing what all she-wolves did, eyeing over the new unmated Alpha Male they were meeting. She didn’t really consider herself to be mated anymore, and neither did Laud, so it wasn’t against their mate bond.

The way he smiled too, drew her attention, it was open and friendly, and even when it was just a slight smile, it added to his looks. Goddess this Alpha was eye candy and a half, she thought to herself, and just when she thought he couldn’t get any hotter, he turned slightly, and she caught the curve of his ass in those jeans he was wearing. She-wolves would be falling all over themselves to climb into his bed.

She knew he wasn’t mated yet, and she thought absently, whoever that lucky she-wolf was going to be, was going to likely match him in his looks, have perfect unblemished genes, to produce pups that were as good-looking as he was.

Her eyes moved over his facial features once more, he had thick dark eyebrows and deep dark brown eyes, a straight nose and square jaw line, and he had a nice light brown skin tone, and a few days of neatly trimmed stubble. ‘That Alpha is sex on a stick. Laud snorted inside her mind.

She could only agree with her beast. He was definitely that, though Nick was considered that as well… this man, he was, she thought as he moved his eyes right towards her; a soulful, deep and dark Alpha, due to those deep dark eyes of his.

She leaned off the car as she realized he was about to walk over and introduce himself to her, and she pushed her sunglasses up and back into her hair. It was loose about her face today, she too was also dressed casually, in comfortable driving clothes. But she did what she knew she should, allow him to see her properly.

She took a few steps forward to greet him and shake his offered hand, after the full formality of greeting his new Gamma bloodline was done. That hand of his, it was large like the rest of him, and dwarfed hers by a mile, he had long tapered fingers that felt warm and strong as it gripped hers. She thanked him for allowing one such as herself inside his pack.

Something not many would do, not when they knew it could bring trouble for their pack. Declan was allowing it, offering her sanctuary here inside his pack, even though he knew it could bring a full threat of war from her own Alpha Mate, that she was still attached to. If Anthony ever came to realize she wasn’t actually inside the Night Whispers pack anymore, that was, and he hunted for her and found her here.

Though she doubted that it would start a war, Anthony would probably just come himself, because his ego wouldn’t allow him to ask his allies to help them retrieve her and bring her back to him. Because then they’d all know she’d left him and want to know how long she’d been missing; why she left him.

He couldn’t say she had been kidnapped, because he knew she’d deny that. When they arrived and tell them she’d left him, tell them how long it had been, and that he’d never even noticed she was gone. She wasn’t so stupid as to just cut all ties to that pack either. Her social media account for Night Whispers was still active for now.

She’d even made a post on it a few times over the past few days, had checked herself in to the Rising Blue Lotus the day before the full moon. She’d not hidden where she’d gone, had, in fact, told him she would be in Nick’s pack for it, and he had approved of it and asked her to sway Nick and Lucinda while she was

there.

“I’m hoping there will be no trouble for you at all, Alpha Declan,” she’d stated. “There hasn’t been for Nicholas or his pack in the past week, which is where I have been since leaving Anthony. As long as I’m in the range of him not feeling that ache inside his chest, of being separated from me, he completely forgets

I exist.

“Nick assures me your pack is inside that circle of what he states is about 600 rniles, so as long as I don’t get any further away, or he doesn’t go north, it will be fine. His other Mate, is also currently pregnant, so I’m not expecting him to do that any time soon.”

His eyes moved over her, and he smiled at her. “Your Mate, is an idiot.” Declan practically declared for all to hear, “I’d have lo-jacked you long ago if you were my Luna, and have it set to alert me when you got a like 25 or 30 miles from me so I could see where you were going… highly kidnappable, and I wouldn’t be risking that.” He stated.

She understood it was his way of saying he thought she was lovely to look at, and as his Mate, he’d never forget she existed, or pass her over for another either. That she wouldn’t be able to run away from him, he’d hunt to get her back, as most Alpha Mates would.

Then he turned to the rest of those traveling with them, “Welcome to Whispering Moon, I am Alpha Declan

Talbot. Come inside and let’s get you all initiated into the pack and then settled in.” He looked to the children and smiled at them, “Then you carr all go play in the park and meet the other children of the pack.”” He motioned for everyone to walk inside.

She looked at the packhouse. It was a little odd, she thought, it kind of just looked like any other office building in the city, all metal and glass, though she could also see that it had a similar style to that of the homes and apartment buildings. They all had this kind of defined and distinct cut-out feature to them regardless of the shape of the building; which she thought tied the pack all together.

This place, she realized, was well thought out, and just a lick of paint or new front façade would keep it refreshed, easy to modernize over time, it had simple neat, clean lines. The park for the children he was talking about was massive. She’d seen that it had three distinct zones to it, but she could see most of it was tailored to climbing and agility.

Then off to the side had been what she thought was a dedicated scooter or bike zone, with paths winding all over the place in there, little hills to ride up and over, creating tunnels beneath which the paths wound back on. She’d even seen three mini bridges and small fun colored, give-way and stop signs, dotted lines and arrows on the paths that indicated one-way or two-way paths and which side to ride on. Prepping them for learning road rules, she thought.

She walked into the Alpha’s Office, large and decorated with dark wood. She watched Declan initiate Paul first and had him pledge loyalty to him and accept the position of being the pack’s Gamrna, then it was Carol and Louise, in rank order just like she expected it to be.

His eyes moved towards her briefly and, at her slight shake of the head, he called the next family over to him. She was the only that wouldn’t be initiated into this pack because Anthony would feel her sever from the pack, and she didn’t want that. That would not only have him calling her but looking for her as well.

She watched him give Beta Holland and Delta Mack the jobs of seeing the new pack members to their homes out in the pack, and then he turned to look at Paul, “I’ll take you up to your suit, our rooms are all on the far side of the building’s top floor. He’d looked to Louise. “I’ve allocated a suite for you on the floor below the Alpha floor, with the War Generals, I hope that is okay.”

Louise nodded. “Anywhere is good, I don’t mind.” She shrugged.

Declan then looked to Misha. “We had a long discussion about where to place you, my unit and !”

“It doesn’t matter. I’m not a pack member, just a long-term guest is all, so out in the pack would be good.” She told him, and she wouldn’t mind that, “I’m not here to hold a title, just live peacefully, and I’ll only be inside the pack until I move on campus in August next year, Nick told me first and second years live on campus, it’s a requirement.”

“Hmm, you say that, but you are Luna Ranked, and we came to the decision to house you as such, so up on the Alpha floor as well, but we opted for the other end of the packhouse to our suites,” Declan told her.
