Misha
She kind of frowned at that? It wasn’t her place, as even a visiting Luna, to be up there on that Alpha floor. She should be housed on either the first floor or over in the visiting pack’s single dorm. Possibly a small home out in the pack. If he had one available, that would be the better option, seeing as she was here as a long-term guest.
She was here, essential for sanctuary; not rank. “Out in the pack itself would actually be the better place for me. Just a home to myself, a simple one-bedroom apartment or small villa would be fine with me,” she told him.
“Not going to happen, you are a fully-fledged Luna, and we do actually get rogue attacks here, quite a bit, so it’s not at all appropriate for you to be out in the pack. The Alpha floor was deemed by a vote as to where you should go. I do not wish to offend you or your rank.” Declan voiced his thoughts on the matter.
She stared at him, and he stared right back, Luna to Alpha, and then after a solid minute of neither of them looking away, she smiled, “Alright, how about a compromise… I’ll agree to be in the packhouse, say the floor below the Alpha floor, if you insist on housing me according to rank and not just an apartment out in the pack… say, near Louise,
“Because I’m not your Luna, just Luna Ranked is all, and that way, when you scent out your Mate and Luna, and bring her home to the pack, if I’m still here and not off to live on campus, she cannot get the wrong idea about you and I, that would be best for you. Because I don’t need another Luna looking at me as if I’m a threat to her position. Targeting me solely out of jealousy.”
“It would be made clear to her who you are, and why you’re here. That filigree on your neck should also resolve that issue.” Declan stated, “That part of the Alpha floor also doesn’t have anyone down there currently, though don’t take that as I’m trying to segregate you from the pack, they were designed for Elders later on. Please accept the suite I’ve prepared for you. It’s not going to be anything like the Luna Suite, but don’t take that as an offense, it’s simply the only one room suite I have that isn’t the Luna Suite.”
“I’m not offended at all, Alpha Declan, that’s where I lived in my home pack for the past year, anyway. At the complete opposite end of the packhouse to the Alpha and his unit, everyone, in fact, by choice. I won’t see it as you’re trying to single me out or cut me from the others in the pack. I was simply concerned about when you bring a Mate home. It’s probably better if you actually just put me out in the pack,” she offered once more.
“Hmm, I understand your concern, but I don’t feel that is appropriate. You should also know that Nick told me I had to consider you his older sister, so… where did he house you in his packhouse?” Declan asked, though that half smile on his face told her he already knew.
She huffed, she wasn’t going to get her way, “Next to Mary’s room,” she stated.
“And that would be where in the packhouse, Misha?” he asked directly. He wasn’t fooled by her not actually answering the question in full.
She heard Paul chuckle and looked at him, and he shook his head. “It’s like dealing with Nick, I see. You’re not going to win.”
She moved her eyes to Declan and stated, “On the Alpha floor.”

“Then you will be housed on the Alpha floor here as well.” He smiled and waved a hand towards the door To his office, “All the rooms are unlocked for now and your access cards should be on the coffee table of
your suites with your welcome gifts.” He told them.
They walked through the building out to the back of it and passed the entertainment zone and then to an elevator and up they went, he showed Louise to her room first and then herself. She had a corner suite on the complete opposite end to where they all were, and he smiled at her and stated he’d leave her to settle in while he took Paul and Carol to their official Gamma suite.
She walked about her suite. It was nice and simple with room for decorating. It had everything she could want, including a nice little balcony that overlooked the back of the pack out into the forest. “A new home, for a new life.” She stated as she leaned on it.
“We go running before heat comes,” Laud told her.
“Yes, you can stretch your legs here, and likely for as long as you like, though not being initiated into the pack, we’ll get permission first.” She told Laud, “Let’s go grab our suitcase and have a look around.”
She did just that, unpacked the two suitcases of clothes she’d purchased in the Rising Blue Lotus, and then headed off downstairs once more. She snagged a pack member and asked where the generalized
car parking was.
The girl, a young warrior, looked at her and smiled. “There’s underground parking here, for all the buildings. Or garages for those that live in the homes. Just follow the road to the side of the packhouse, and park anywhere that isn’t designated with a rank.”
“Oh.” She’d stated and done just that. She’d never been in a pack that had underground car parking before, but she supposed things moved on with the times. She was just walking back from parking her car, when her phone chimed with a message ‘Mischa, you’re still in the Rising Blue Lotus? Have you managed to talk Nicholas around yet and started working on that new alliance agreement?’
She shook her head and sent back ‘Has Christy apologized yet!’ and muttered, “Yes, only text me when you want something.” and then she stopped walking and glared at her phone as her own irritation flared, and it turned into more than that, became anger, she’d left him and surprise, surprise, he didn’t even know.
She held her phone up to her mouth and held the record button to send him a full recording so he could hear her anger loud and clear about his request. She’d already told him she wouldn’t do anything until he’d made Christy apologize, yet he was trying to get her to sort it out without making that bitch apologize at all, and she knew it.
“I’m not cleaning up after that bitch. Don’t text me and try and force my hand. Don’t call me and try and guilt me into fixing it… I told you there would be no help for Christy. You wanted her for your Mate and Luna, you accepted her, marked and mated her without even consulting me.
“Your Mate of 20 freaking years, and you couldn’t even show me one ounce of respect in that moment, it was all just you thinking with your d**k, as you’ve continued to do for the past three years.
“You gave her everything that was mine and shoved me aside. Now you get to deal with the consequences of her actions. I’m not picking up the phone for you or her anymore, until you’ve sorted it out on your own. I’m not just there to fix that pack, and keep it up and running for you and her,
“I did that, rebuilt it from scratch with you, if you can recall that at all, when it was on the verge of collapse, and you’ve let your other Mate drag it back into the red, in what… two months of her sitting in the Luna

seat and me vacating it, that is; a you and Christy problem, not; a me problem. If you want accounting to Thelp, talk to Bart from now on.
“You allowed Christy to verbally unseat me to Nicholas and Goddess only knows how many of your other allies. She got what she wanted so she can, as I’ve said, fix her own problems, stop texting me, go to her and make her grovel and beg and plead with Nicholas or Lucinda, instead of texting me about it.” She let go of the button and hit send.
She heard a low whistle coming from her right and looked up to see Declan leaning in his office doorway,” Now that is a pissed off Luna.”
“Yes,” she nodded. “He just messaged me asking if I’d sorted out that broken alliance with Nick yet. I didn’t bloody break it, and yet he wants me to fix it, so Christy doesn’t have to go and be caught out in her fake apology is all,” she muttered.
“Give me that,” Declan stated, pointing to her phone, “I’ll take it, you can go buy a new phone tomorrow and that way he can’t bother you anymore.”
She thought about that, even as her phone started to ring in her hand, she looked at it and saw Anthony’s name on the screen and shook her head. He’d just finished listening to her message and was calling even when she’d told him not to, a part of her wanted to just toss it in the bin. She watched Declan walk towards her. She answered it before Declan claimed it. “Go fuck Christy and forget I exist like you normally do.” She shot down the line and hit the end call button.
She saw Declan raise an eyebrow at her, and she held that phone out to him. “You know what you take it, but don’t get rid of it,”
“Why not?” he asked curiously.
“Because the moment that pack signs a new agreement with Nick, he’ll have what he wants, and then I will be nothing to him once more. He literally only remembers me when he needs something from me, or he feels my heat. In two days he’ll likely be dealing with Nick, and I want to know how long it takes him to realize I’ve left him.”
“Hmm, that will be when you go into heat, and you’re not in the pack for him to sort it out, I imagine.” Declan nodded. “I’ll put this on my desk. You can come check it anytime you like or have Carol do that if I’m not in the pack.”
“Thank you, Oh, Laud wanted to shift and run. Can she do that?” she asked.
r
“Of course she can. The entire pack knows you’re here and not initiated, so there will be no issue with you shifting and letting your wolf out. Actually, there is a pack run tonight. Oh… Sorry, I announced that just 30 minutes ago, you wouldn’t have got that, no mind-link from me to you. I’ll make a note of that and send someone to tell you when I make pack-wide announcements from now on.”
“Thank you, what time and where; a pack run will be a good stretch of Laud’s legs.”
“10pm back of the packhouse, it’s just a two-hour run through the state park and back, then the wolves of the pack are free to play and roughhouse inside the pack for as long as they like. I hold a pack run once a month on the night after every full moon, to welcome all the new pack members from Mating Balls into the pack, and for newly shifted wolves, it gives them a chance to greet the other wolves here and get to know the territory. I think it also makes them feel included right from the day they arrive.”

“A good time to do so.” She nodded. “We’ll see you there, Alpha.” She smiled.

“It’s just Declan or Dec, Misha. Drop the formalities please. I only expect that at formal events or pack meetings.”
She nodded and headed back upstairs to her suite, ‘One less thing to worry about, Laud stated, ‘no more calls or texts.’
‘Correct because Anthony thinks we’re still with Nick and Lucinda in the Rising Blue Lotus.
