The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 178

CH 178

Declan

He’d been consumed by the scent of Misha’s heat in less than five seconds, even as he smelled it coming into this stairwell, and knowing he should back out of the stairwell, retreat away from her, because she had a Mate. At the same time, he knew any male, even an omega, that stepped into this stairwell would succumb to the scent of her heat.

He even knew it had come early, wasn’t due for a few more days, so he hadn’t expected her to be in heat when he’d come in here, he had thought something had happened to her, and she obviously couldn’t mindlink to anyone for help, so had been going to make her way back to her room to either put a call in or maybe she thought shifting back would see her be healed.

Only now he’d mated her through that bout of heat, and despite the fact that the actual bout was over, he could still smell that she was in heat. He was completely sated right this minute, as was Wild, who had actually pushed forward and mated her himself. His own Alpha Wolf had succumbed in full as much as he had

It showed him just how powerful the scent of heat could be. He was pureblooded and kind of thought his own will could stop him from succumbing to things others wouldn’t. Seems not, though her own wolf wasn’t tearing into him for mating them or being knotted to them, and he realized Misha didn’t even seem opposed to it

He lowered her to the ground, knowing her Alpha Mate had just been in a mass of agony. For however long it took to sate that bout of heat, he wasn’t exactly sure, but it hadn’t actually stopped until he’d knotted her. Only then had it fallen away. Though how long he could stand here in this stairwell, and ignore the fact that she still scented of being in heat, he didn’t actually know.

He kind of was putting it down to him being completely sated right this minute. If not, he’d likely already be trying to mate her again. It’s what the scent of heat did to unmated males, regardless of a shewolf being in a true bout, they just kind of went crazy with the smell of heat and wanted to mate regardless of a bout

or not.

Whereas the shewolf’s Mate could discern a bout from just the scent of heat and contain himselí, because he loved her, and he’d never harm her, and therefore could control his own instincts and be settled, feel sated and stay calm until that next bout came.

He chuckled at seeing her go weak in the knees and barely be able to stand. He couldn’t help but thank her for the compliment to him. That meant she’d been sated in full as well. Though her words confused him. Short?he asked with some confusion, because he would not call what had happened here in this stairwell short, they’d been all over the place.

Hmm, like 30 minutes, that’s actually short for a bout of heat. Mine have dwindled down to almost nothing over the course of the past few years, she told him.

Misha, I don’t think what happened was exactly short. He shook his head, he wasn’t wearing his watch We need to get you back to your room.He stated, Give me a sec,he connected himself to his unit

They were all up and awake already, which told him it was almost time for training at six. His roaming patrol around the pack’s board went from two in the morning and ended at four in the morning, and he got back to the packhouse on average at four thirty in the morning, which gave him an hour to nap before

getting up again.

If they were up, that meant it was at least fivethirty, so an hourlong bout Getting lucky down there did you, boss. His Beta snorted, We figured training was being ditched,

What time is it, and it’s not what you think. He relayed

He could feel confusion coming from all of them, and he realized they had likely tracked his tether or maybe even tried to connect to him, only to realize he was having sex, so dropped the link quickly

It’s just on six,Holland answered, And not what we think? I felt what you were doing.

Hmm, unexpectedMisha’s heat bloomed and wellI and Wild got hit with it while she was trying to make her way back to the suite. Succumbed to it,’ he explained. I need you to clear a path and block all the doors to this omega stairwell off.

Is Misha alright?Paul asked.

Yes she is, and I’m settled right this minute, able to ignore the scent for the moment.Declan relayed.

Odd, Holland stated, You should still be trying to mate her, she’s not your mate, and you’re right there with her, I’m guessing.

Yes, move your asses. I don’t know how much longer I can withstand the scent and not mate her again!

he stated.

On it.’ All of them told him, and he cut the link and looked at Misha, “The unit is sealing off doors to the stairwell, it will take a few minutes. Let’s move you up to the Alpha floor, and when it’s all sorted we’ll get you to your room. Paul has concerns.

He’s a good Gamma.She nodded.

Your Gamma and he knows you well,Declan stated. As for your bout of heat, it’s nearly 6am, so an hour and a half at least for your bout.He told her. My roaming patrol sees me return to the to packhouse at fourthirty. He explained to her.

She stopped walking and stared up at him, there was a slight frown on her face, and he placed a band to her back and nudged her on, and she fell into step with him. That’s odd, not at all normal for me.”

Hmm, maybe with a change of circumstances, comes a change of many other things, he commented. Though if you think you can keep your Alpha Mate from knowing you’ve left him now, it’s going to be very unlikely. He’s going to be hunting you inside that pack, only to realize you’re not there.

“He still thinks I’m in Nick’s pack, seeing as Christy faked a miscarriage, and they had to delay her going and apologize. She shook her head. Well, I guess he’ll be calling to demand to know what happened.

Not going to go down so well. I don’t think,Declan commented. I’d put a call into Nick, but i think your Mate will do that before I get the chance.”

MaybeShe shrugged it off.

Are you at all concerned, Misha?he asked curiously because she didn’t sound like it to him

No, he was never going to be allowed to mate me through my heats ever again anyway I tried to non from

him last time. I didn’t want it. Paul even advised the Elders to let someone else mate me through it for my own well being.

That drew his undivided attention. What the hell had her Mate done to her to make her run from him in a heat? Couldn’t bloody be anything good, he thought. But he held off on asking the question, that was her personal business. Nick hadn’t told him everything, but he understood now there was more going on than he probably wanted to know; she had trauma caused by her own Mate is all he could think.

Though she’d not had an aversion to him mating her, that was curious to him, which also told him it was only related to her Mate and not every male wolf They stepped on to the landing by the Alpha floor omega doorway, and he connected himself to Paul, who he could feel was on the other side. It didn’t surprise him that it was the Gamma on this floor.

Are we good to walk her?’ Declan asked.

I can do it, Declan. You should probably stay in the stairwell, Paul commented.

To bloody late for that now. He muttered, That bout was like an hour and a half long

Ahso you’re fully sated. That is why you can stand next to her without issue. Paul commented.

I’m guessing so. Let’s not delay it. He commented and cut the link.

He pushed the door open and Paul looked from him to Misha and then handed him a pair of shorts and Misha a shirt. They pulled them on and thanked him, then they moved down the corridor to take her to the other end of floor, where her suite was.

He connected himself with Holland and Mack to let them know she was out of the omega stairs and being escorted to the other end of the building. They could return themselves. He let Misha walk ahead of him, but he also saw Paul was in front of her. She trusted Paul completely not to react to the scent of her heat that much he could see.

They were only about halfway down the corridor when his head kind of twitched, and he felt Wild stand up inside his mind and focus on Misha once more, Hold yourself still.’ He warned his beast. Pick up the pace.He muttered and he watched as Paul stopped walking and turned to look at him, pulled Misha behind him placed a hand on his chest to halt him and gave Mischa a shove, putting himself between them.

Declan’s body kind of leaned to the side of its own accord as if it needed to see her and know where she was going, one gammablooded wolf wouldn’t be able to stop him, and he knew it, a fight would ensue. and he’d win in an effort to get to her. She didn’t stop moving, picked up the pace all on her own.

She was only a room away from her suite when the omega stairwell door opened down there and one of the male cleaners stepped into the corridor with a cleaning trolley. He’d only blocked off the stairwell they’d been in, not this end.

No,Misha stated firmly, and it whipped Paul’s head around as a low growl came from that wolf as it scented out her heat. That omega was only young, not even 18 yet, but instantly affected by the scent of her heat. Misha came back this way as Paul shot off away from him to stop that omega, as a shot after her, she was never going to make it to her room.

He watched her duck right under Paul’s arm. Even as he was on the move, she was now caught between himself and an omega. Paul couldn’t defend her against both of them. Declan snagged her and pulled her

right out of the hallway into the nearest empty room and shut the door, to stop that omega from getting to her and helping to resolve the issue, only to look down at her even as he felt the pull of the scent of her heat start to weigh fully on him

He shoved himself back away from her, realizing his mistake. He’d just closed her in a room with himself, and he was about to succumb to her heat himself. A part of him knew he’d done it on purpose because he had started to feel the effects of her heat on him again. Another part of hirm knew it was completely wrong but had done it because he wanted to be the one to mate her and not that omega.

He had to get out of the room, and he knew it, but he couldn’t take his eyes off her. She was just staring at him hadn’t moved a muscle, and he knew why, because the moment she did, he’d be on the move himself. Slowly, step to your left,he stated as he forced himself to step to his left away from her. She did as he asked and the door kind of banged open, and then he was yanked from the room by his Beta and Delta and out into the hallway.

The scent out here but much less than in that room and he kind of sagged against the wall. Thank you.

He murmured.
