The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 183

CH 183

Nicholas

He’d not been expecting Anthony to turn up without prior notice, though he’d been expecting him to drag Christy down here for days now, he’d heard from Paul this morning that Misha had not only gone into heat, but that Laud had been out in the pack when her heat came, and she got mated by the highest ranking unmated wolf within Whispering Moon.

Those words had made him sit back and think about that very thing: Declar’s pack, and who his highest ranking unmated wolves were. No names had been mentioned and Nick hadn’t pried, had simply asked if Misha was alright, how she’d handle that very thing. Only to hear she was doing well.

That they were waiting for her bangle to take effect, but if it didn’t, she had also agreed to let that same wolf mate her through her second bout of heat before the fairy charm was activated. He’d just nodded and stated it was probably a good idea. But still his brain had been ticking about the way Paul had worded himself.

Between the lines that to him, ‘the highest ranking unmated, that would be Declan himself, and although he was more than curious, he’d left it alone. If that was the case, and she was going to allow it to happen again, she’d probably actually enjoyed herself. He kind of thought it was a bit funny and would wait and see, even though he didn’t approve of such things, and it would be fully punishable inside this pack, her circumstances were very different from anything he’d ever come across.

Misha would likely tell him who it was at some point and probably allow that same wolf each and every time her heat came to sate it. If he wasn’t mated off between her heats, that was. That could be very interesting to watch. Not all wolves opted for a Goddess-Gifted. Some fell in love and took a Chosen

Mate.

He knew Declan wasn’t out there hunting for a Mate like most Alpha Wolves would. He actually stated once, ‘she’ll show up when it’s the right time’. Kind of just shrugged it off, would be one of those wolves like Alpha Austin, just happy to wait for as long as it took. He didn’t itch to be mated, he was happy right now, settled with how his life was.

Declan had a pack that was wealthy and really starting to thrive. That was his focus at the moment. He wanted everything to already be settled and in place when his Mate came along, and he’d managed it as well. He’d been the Alpha for two decades and things had kind of always gone smoothly for him, but that Nick thought was because for the first 15 of those years he’d had Wolfen Council protection.

Now, today, Anthony was here and hauling Christy with him, likely using her as an excuse to stand before Misha. After all apologies were attended to, he thought. So, did it really surprise him that he was here now today, after suffering the pains of betrayal? Not really. Because Anthony thought Misha was still here inside this pack.

When she’d been gone from it for over a week, a week in which he’d not once brought Christy down here to apologize, used the excuse she’d thought she was having a miscarriage to get out of coming on the day it was organized for originally

Only for her to be completely fine, she still was in fact fine, still walking about inside that pack as if nothing was wrong. Though she and Anthony weren’t getting along currently, today things had come to ahead for him. Only he was still completely unaware of things going on around him by his own Elders

CH 18

Today things were about to be put into motion inside Night Whispers. That was why he was here on his own with Christy, why his Beta and Delta weren’t with him. They all had things to do up there to fix that pack and could only go about it in secret, unless he nor Christy were in that pack.

He knew that Harvey had laid the law down just this morning. That this was the reason why Anthony was here at his gate. The Elders were forcing his hand to bring Christy here and do what she should have done the day she’d insulted Lucinda, breached the pack alliance and severed ties with him and his pack

She was already kneeling there on the ground when he arrived with his unit, and all their Mates. This she-wolf respected no one, not even her own Alpha Mate from what he could tell. She wanted to be the only Luna but also to have Anthony at her beck and call, so she was the one that was in charge and not him. That he would give her everything she wanted only what she’d not realized was that, in doing so, he would call in all that pack’s debts, and they were practically back in the red.

He knew all pack cards and access to any funds had been stripped from all inside that pack, and a pack-wide announcement had gone out about what Christy had done, and that they could no longer afford luxury’s due to having barely enough funds to support the pack once more. Christy’s ass had been dumped in it and the pack was furious about it.

She was learning the very hard way that she had no one inside that pack, because she’d spent her entire time there trying to pull Anthony and Mischa apart. She hadn’t seen the pack falling apart or not accepting her. She just believed she was the Alpha’s Mate and, therefore, it was her right to do as she pleased, and if the pack members didn’t like it, they could leave.

Now here she was kneeling before him at his gate, sobbing away as if those tears were going to save her, or have him or anyone in the pack believe they were real. Anthony didn’t even seem phased by them at this moment, didn’t look to Nick as if he was going to cave and pick her up from the ground, apologize for her like he had done many times now, only to be told it needed to come from Christy.

He had paid every invoice the day after he’d received them. It was his way of showing he didn’t want there to be anything bad between them, that he intended to uphold their alliance in full. A show of good faith. Which had nearly bankrupted him.

His eyes moved to Christy. “What do you have to say to My Luna?” he asked casually, he could be civil.

“I’m sorry.” Christy sobbed.

“Is that it?” Lucinda asked before he could when nothing else came from her. They all knew why only two words, a lengthy apology which she didn’t mean would be detected by Kevin, who was standing here, and he was switched on.

Christy nodded slowly. “I don’t know what else to say.” She murmured.

“Hmm, is that because you’ve never given a true apology or because you’re simply not willing to admit your mistakes. I believe Christy, you’ve single-handedly bankrupted Night Whispers by offending me and my Luna, and you think two words are going to fix it? I think you’d be wrong”

“She’s had plenty of time to realize what she did wrong, to understand the consequences and know what needs to be said by way of formally apologizing, any Luna in her position would understand what was needed of them,” Lucinda commented

“Hmm, agreed.” Nicholas nodded. “You, Christy, are a spoiled, selfish she-wolf that only cares about what you can get for yourself and nothing more.” He stated, “I saw through your act the day you spented

Anthony out, it’s a pity he didn’t. Has let you ruin not only his hard-won pack, but his mate bond with Mish Faswell.

“You got everything you wanted, Christy,” he stated, stepping outside the pack and over to her, where he hunkered down and grabbed her chin roughly and forced her to look at him, “I mean that.”

He could see her anger at the way he was talking to her, the way he gripped her chin, but he could also see her thinking about his words. He nodded ever so slightly so she could understand what he was telling her that Misha was gone in full. That she was never going back, he let go of her chin. “You’d best apologize, I hear Mish is in talks with those she’s made deals with and guess who’s going to get them deals when they fall through because you couldn’t respect my Luna.”

Christy was frowning now, and he laughed. “Oh yes, as your unallied and now an enemy, I will be targeting all your packs business deals, I do know them inside and out, being that I was your packs’ lawyer for business contracts. You’re about to be bankrupted in full and all because you can’t apologize and really

mean it.”

He saw her eyes go wide as she came to understand what he could actually do. He heard Anthony sigh heavily from where he stood, because he understood Nick could actually do that if he wanted to. He was likely expecting it, that was why there was hardly any reaction to his words on the matter.

“Poor Christy, you really aren’t worthy of being a Luna, now are you. This is what offending your biggest ally in business and war assistance gets you.” He stated and walked over to Lucinda and slid his had to the small of her back. “Are you remorseful yet? You’ll have nothing by the time you get back to that pack. I’ll set it all into motion the minute I shut this gate.”

“Wait… I’m sorry. I honestly didn’t know all this would come from just not inviting you to a mating ball.” Christy rushed out. “How could I possibly know it would ruin the pack in full?” She shook her head. “I never intended to ruin the pack. That wasn’t my intention at all,” she voiced.

He looked to Kevin who was watching her. “Some of that is actually true,” Kevin commented.

Nick nodded. “Explain to me what your intention was then?” he asked directly. He’d been hoping she’d used the word intent or intentions so he could use it against her.

She looked away from him, and Kevin shook his head. “I’m switched on, are you so dumb as to try and get a lie past me. State the truth, or have no pack to go home to. They are your only options.”

He watched her sit there and her fists balled on her knees. “I just didn’t want you coming to the mating ball, I don’t like you, so why would I want you in my pack!” she finally spoke the truth

His eyes moved to Anthony, “Do you hear that? She doesn’t like your biggest allied pack’s Alpha, and doesn’t want him inside her pack Got yourself a nice piece of work I see. It’s your bloodline that owns that pack yet. She just voiced it was ‘her’ pack, Lucinda how do you refer to this pack?”

“As our pack.” Lucinda stated simply

“Correct any Luna that is mated into a pack can not say ‘her pack’ because it’s not her bloodline that was born to rule it. Yet, you believe it’s yours.”

“Mischa says it’s her pack” Christy bit out.

“She was born into the pack,” Anthony interrupted them, “not into the leadership, but she also built it from

the ashes up to where it was until you destroyed it, so she has the actual right to say it’s her pack, though i only ever heard her state our pack.”

Nick looked at him. “At least you can acknowledge that,”

“I know what she did, I have also unseated Christy and that pup is not to be the heir to the pack. None of her pups can ever sit in the seat of Alpha. I’d like to speak with Mischa, Nicholas,” Anthony asked now.

“I’m certain you would, but she’s not here, Nick stated simply. “Left my pack already.”

“What?” Anthony frowned. “No, she came here.”

“Hmm, she did, but has left. Don’t you know where your own Luna is?” He shook his head. “Christy has made it very clear she doesn’t want to be allied, so there will simply be no alliance between yourself and myself. Anthony, you may take that…” he waved a hand at Christy. “And leave, never come back here to my pack, you nor she are welcome after all you’ve put Mish through.”
