Mischa
She’d given four Luna Blessings inside the Whispering Moon in the past two and a half weeks since her heat. It was nice to do that, to smile at the she-wolf, and see the loving bond between her and her Mate, to watch the way they looked down at their pup and smiled, she could actually see the love there between them.
She spoke the words ‘A Luna’s blessing to you little one, as she lightly traced the shape of the moon phase they were born under on the pup’s forehead. She always checked what it was before giving a blessing.
Then she ran her finger down the pup’s nose and stated, ‘May your life be filled with love and joy! And tapped them lightly on the tip of their tiny nose. Smiled at the parents and siblings and allowed them to be with their newborn.
She’d once been asked why she didn’t state the pup’s name when giving a Luna’s Blessing. It was normally customary to do so. But she’d seen more than a few wolves in her time as Luna, change their names, and to her that meant the Luna Blessing they got wouldn’t belong to them anymore, because it had been attached to the name they’d been given originally.
So, to her, omitting the name wasn’t an insult, it was solely to keep the blessing to the intended wolfen child. She herself was a prime example. She’d changed her name therefore the blessing she’d received as a newborn no longer was attached to her in her eyes. Because she’d willingly given up that life, which meant she’d willingly given up the blessing as well.
This way, it was the actual life before her that she was blessing not a specific child of a certain family. It kind of just always felt right to her, though she’d only started doing that a decade ago after seeing many change their names.
Two of whom had been their own pack members, who had just turned 18 and left their family home in full, severing ties to them, and it had made her think about it. She’d paid those two a visit and asked if they wanted their new lives to be given a Luna’s Blessing. One had nodded and stated they’d like that, the other had been confused about why she would offer it, and she’d explained her reasoning, and they’d kind of just stared at her and shaken their head no, thought the name didn’t matter because it was still them essentially.
Everyone kind of had their own thoughts about Luna Blessings she’d come to realize, but she’d always gone off and offered it to those that changed their names to escape something. to try and see their new lives be blessed
She’d accepted her new name from Nicholas and Lucinda had asked her if she wanted her to

do that for her. She knew that Misha did that. Misha had smiled at her and nodded, “I would honestly love that,” she’d stated, and Lucinda had given her a Luna’s blessing before she’d left the Rising Blue Lotus.
She was now just sitting out on the grass not that far from the park, enjoying the day even though it was getting really cold. She didn’t mind at all. It was midday and the sun was shining directly upon her as she sat on a picnic blanket with her sunglasses on, and her face tilted up, she was just soaking up the sun.
She had a law book next to her, but had stopped reading it for the moment, to enjoy the warmth that the sun brought directly as the clouds passed and the sky was clear blue. She smiled to herself as she reclined back on her arms.
‘Hungry.’ Laud had told her.
‘Hmm, it is lunchtime, Misha answered.
Her head turned at the sound of a commotion coming from the direction of the packhouse, and she frowned at the sight of Declan stalking this way, then as she really looked, she could see it was his wolf on the surface, his eyes were glowing the red of his beast.
His entire unit were all latched onto him and telling him to calm down, to stop, to settle. She turned and looked behind her to see if something was going on behind her that she’d not heard. Laud had been sleeping inside her mind while they’d been reading out there, only
woken to tell her she was hungry.
She heard the cracking of bones and her attention was drawn right back to the Alpha and his unit. She’d seen nothing, and her eyes widened as she saw him now, half shifted between human and wolfen. That wasn’t something one saw every day. She watched Wild just toss his unit off himself like they weighed nothing at all.
Then he was moving at full wolfen speed, and she heard Paul yell out, “Just stay still, Misha.”
She wasn’t so stupid as to move when she didn’t know what was going on. She was staring up at that half-shifted beast of Alpha Declan a moment later, and it dropped a hand down on either side of her, and she leaned back a little from that massive wolfen head before her
Laud was all up inside of her mind, watching what it was doing. They could never outrun him or his beast. ‘Can half shift.’ Laud stated, ‘Strong wolf he is.
Then she heard it breathe in, and a low growl came from him, and she felt her own wolf still inside her mind. Even as Holland, Paul and Mack were all on his beast once more trying to haul it away from her, she heard its claws dig into the picnic blanket and tear through it to the ground next to her. Wild wasn’t going anywhere.

Her mind raced for a moment as she thought about its actions, some wolves could scent out a Mate before the full moon and that was only a week away now. ‘Not it.’ Laud stated ‘We’re… with pup. His beast just picked it up, we smell different to him.’
‘Oh!’ she kind of just stared up at Wild as its head got close to her. It was still breathing her
“Let go, boys,” she stated, “He’s not going to hurt me… Laud just told me we’re with pup,” she told his unit, and she watched all three of them let go and step back from their Alpha’s half-shifted beast.
Then she reached out and placed her hand on Wilds’ hand and moved it slowly herself, his beast’s head tilted, as if to say what are you doing? But he didn’t resist, and she knew it had also heard her words to his unit. She placed that hand of his right on her lower abdomen, so it could feel if what it was sensing was in fact a pup.
She understood it was sensing something new and different about her, maybe didn’t quite understand what it was, too early, she supposed, but he, being pure-blooded, would pick it up before everyone else. She only knew because Laud had put her senses to it in full, which was why she’d stilled inside her mind to focus on their own body.
They’d been mated through their heat by him; therefore, it was entirely possible they’d get pregnant. She’d thought about that very thing after her heat had passed but hadn’t put her senses to it for the past three days. They’d felt nothing at the two-week mark, so they dismissed it as it wasn’t going to happen.
She saw its head looked to where its hand was, and its head tilted again. Before its eyes met hers, she smiled at Wild, “Yours.” She nodded. “I’ll be keeping it, just so you know.”
She heard the cracking of bones a moment later, and he was reverted back to his human form, but it was still Wild on the surface. “We’ll, not you’ll, be keeping it.” He corrected her.” That is our pup, heir to the pack. Raise it here to be that.”
She nodded. “Agreed.”
She saw his eyes change color to that of Declan’s dark brown with her agreement, and he smiled at her. “Well, now there’s an interesting turn of events.”
“Hmm, I didn’t know you could half shift.” She nodded.
“Only the allies do. You need to let me initiate you into the pack now,” he commented as he hunkered down before her.
“Hmm… it does appear that way.” She smiled at him, and he stood up, held his hand out for
her to take.
