The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 188

“I hope he didn’t scare you. We just got back from the head office, and he just surfaced without warning as I got out of the car, growled all low and I don’t know at the time, but now I think it was like possessively into the pack as he looked around, picked up something on the air, and then I couldn’t control him.”

“Got a mind of his own, I see.” She stated as she took his hand and stood up.

“He is aptly named, a wild beast at times. I did ask the boys to try and contain him, especially when he set his sights on you.” Declan nodded. “I kind of knew the moment he was locked onto you what was likely going to happen. Wild knows what he wants and… well, now has a mindset of… you belong to him now.” Though she saw his eyes move to her filigree, “That is going to be a problem that now needs to be resolved. Wild, nor I, will be standing for him trying to take you from us.”

She thought about that, would Anthony do that still? He didn’t even know where she was, let alone that she was pregnant. “I guess it does need resolving.” She nodded as she thought about it. “Initiation into your pack will tell him I’m not going back.” She murmured softly. Likely stop him from doing whatever he’s doing and have him hunt for me.”

“Yes, your phone will ring quickly, I imagine.” Declan nodded as they walked back. “I’ll answer

it.”

“Mish?” Paul asked curiously.

“Will of the Goddess.” She smiled at him. “Laud is actually happy right this minute, she wants a pup, is all eyes on… Declan, though…” she trailed off.

“All eyes on Wild.” Declan corrected her, he knew what she’d been about to say but had changed her wording at the last minute. He smiled at her, “She may spend as much time as she likes with Wild to get to know him. Probably won’t get much say at all in that to be honest. He’s been watching you for weeks now. Likes looking at you. Thinks Laud is pretty as

well.”

She smiled “Thank you and don’t concern yourself about the pup. We’re ready to have one. I’m okay with this,” she told him.

They walked into Declan’s office, and he pulled pants on, and she found Kitty, Carol and Serena in their looking at her. All of them were pregnant as well. She moved her eyes to Paul, “I guess you were right. About Alpha Declan having a pup alongside his unit.”

Paul nodded, “Same time as your other Mate as well. It’s a little weird, but I guess our Goddess works in mysterious ways.”

Declan

He was happy about the way she was taking this, the way she spoke even, that she wanted to have his pup and heir to the pack. She’d not even been afraid of his half-shifted beast right there looming over her, had actively touched him and taken Wilds clawed hand and placed it right on her stomach.

Though he had a feeling she’d just found out herself, in that very moment, yet hadn’t seemed the slightest bit upset, she didn’t even really sound that shocked, and he wondered now himself if she had been checking for it herself.

He sat down at his desk as he watched Carol hug her and congratulate her. Most in this situation would be concerned about how to explain it to her Mate. Not his Gamma’s Mate, who had been part of her Luna’s unit in that old pack. He motioned for Misha to come to him as he picked up the pack blade.

She looked at the blade in his hand, and he knew she was debating whether or not she wanted to do this. It obviously wasn’t her plan. “He already knows you’ve left him. Nicholas told him you’d left his pack and asked him if he knew where you were. That was all he needed to know that you’d left him. It’s not a matter of how long it takes him to understand you’ve left him anymore.

“It’s a matter of letting him know you’re never going back to him and seeing how long it takes him to hunt you down when the realization of him not being able to count on the will of the Goddess to keep you attached to him hits.

“This, you allowing me to initiate you, is going to show him the truth of all the irreparable harm he did to your mate bond. It will also show you what matters the most to him, you or that pack. Will he drop everything to hunt you down and try to talk to you, sway you into forgiving him, or will he continue to try and fix the packs alliances and business deals?”

She nodded and held that hand out to him for him to initiate her. He stood and made a tiny cut to her palm and then his and pressed them together as he asked, “Misha White, do you accept me, Alpha Declan Talbot as your Alpha, and pledge your loyalty to Whispering Moon Pack?”

A part of him wanted to state bare the heir to the pack and raise it here with me, but he couldn’t bind her to him like that. It wasn’t fair to her, she still had a Mate out there, and though she was happy here and stated as much, he would not have her state that to him in a pledge. Initiated into the pack was the most important thing right now.

They could work on getting her to consider letting him take her to that pack and rejecting that Alpha Mate still attached to her. She’d stated it would likely have to be done with him or Nicholas right there next to her, to force him to accept her rejection. He was willing to do it, he’d have been willing to do that the day she’d arrived if she’d wanted that.

“I, Misha White, accept you, Alpha Declan, as my Alpha, and I pledge my loyalty to the Whispering Moon.” She stated, and he felt the connection snap into place a few seconds later. Declan smiled at her and spoke directly into her mind, ‘Welcome to my pack, Mish.”

‘Happy to be here, Alpha.’ She answered him, and he heard the smile in her voice.

He dropped the link and sat back down, wiped the blade clean and placed it back on the stand on his desk and looked at her “Now we wait. I’m going to answer that phone when it rings,” he stated, and reached out and picked her old phone up; It hadn’t rung in two weeks. Only for the three days after Anthony had found out from Nick that she wasn’t in the Rising Blue Lotus did it ring.

He had a feeling Anthony understood she wasn’t going to pick up, he knew she was fine wherever she was and that was why it was easy for him to focus on dealing with the pack. He probably actually thought she was in an allied pack, seeing as there was no ache inside his chest, which meant she wasn’t actually all that far from him; a day tops and that to him would indicate an allied pack.

Three minutes was all it took for her phone to ring and the word Alpha appear on the screen. “We’ll change that to Anthony or Ex-Mate.” After this conversation, he told her, “seeing as I’m your Alpha now.” He smiled at her.

He reached out and pressed the answer button. “Can I help you?” he stated simply enough.

“Who the hell are you?” Anthony shot right back.

“I’m Misha’s new Alpha,” Declan smiled. “Did you honestly think I wouldn’t be able to sway her into allowing me to initiate her into my pack just because you two are still bound to each

other?”

“Put her on the phone,” Anthony bit out. “She is my Mate and Luna. If you harm her, it’ll be

war.”

Declan chuckled softly, “Oh will it… Who am I? And where is my pack? How big is it? And who are my allies?” Declan asked right back.

“Mischa talk to me,” Anthony stated down the line, ignoring him, because he understood now that Declan also knew Anthony didn’t know where his own Mate was, and she wasn’t about to tell him either.
