That elder wasn’t wrong either, what Alpha had to explain and prove his own Mate was in heat to anyone at all. Hell, no heats were questioned at all regardless of rank, it was simply a standard thing and recorded by who it was reported to in their pack file. She’d never once had anyone come to her and demand proof
that a heat was real.
“You, Alpha Anthony, actually did pander to Christy, you opened Luna Mischa’s suite door, which we all
know put her at risk of others smelling her heat and rushing for the room. You, Alpha, risked harm coming
to one of your Luna’s for the sake of giving scent proof to your other Luna.
“When you are the Alpha, and your word should have been more than enough as proof. Tell me Alpha, who was it that informed your second mate, Christy, that Luna Mischa was in heat?” Elder May asked him now.
“Kendrick,” Anthony muttered, and they all turned and looked at Kendrick, and he nodded to confirm it had been him. Anthony, she knew, was now unhappy about all he was hearing.

“Which means your entire unit also knew Luna Mischa was in heat, so why did you have to pander to Christy and prove Mischa was in heat at all? It wasn’t necessary and Christy should have known better than to even mind–link you while you were tending to your other Mate’s heat as well. Again, disrespectful, no one is to interrupt any mated pair during a heat unless it’s an emergency,” Elder May stated flatly.
He sighed and took a breath in as this investigation was now turned squarely upon himself and Christy. She wasn’t harmed; I was right there.” He muttered as he came to the full realization that he was the one in the wrong in the first place, something she’d pointed out to him herself, after Christy had left her room.
“It shows a full lack of respect to Luna Mischa though doesn’t it! It also shows this pack, us the Elders, that you’d do it again in the future, just to placate Luna Christy.”
“It won’t happen again,” Anthony sighed. “Like Gillian stated, a one in a million chance of this happening.”
Mischa laughed a little on the bitter side. “Yes, it will.”
His eyes moved right to hers “I said it won’t and it will not. I give you my word.”
لو
She rolled her eyes. His word was not to be trusted when it was given to her in regard to Christy versus her. “You want to go there, Anthony, about you and your promises to me, if you keep them?” she shot at him and saw his jaw tighten as he realized he couldn’t win that battle either.
A voice cleared to interrupt them. “That is punishable, Alpha, as you’re aware, by 10 lashes.” Elder Simone interrupted them and what she saw, what she knew was going to be the beginning of them arguing back and forth about whether she believed him or not.
But she could prove that he’d taken Christy into her room, against her express wishes, when it was the only thing she had him promise not to do, and he’d broken it twice. If he wanted to go there, she would go there, and it would show he cared nothing at all for her wants, had no respect for her one and only request. He would lose and quickly so

“What you can’t lash him, he’s the Alpha.” Christy burst out and shot to her feet.
Her attention went from a very annoyed–looking Anthony to Christy, and she snorted, “You really should just sit quietly if you don’t know the pack laws. Two years of studying them, and you don’t get it still, do you?”
“Get what other than you’re going to have Anthony lashed, what kind of Mate are you?” she yelled at her. “No, of course I’m not.” Mischa smiled at her, then looked at Anthony. “Do you perhaps want to tell her who those 10 lashes are for and why? She clearly doesn’t understand.”
He sighed and pushed Christy back down into her chair because he understood all too well it wasn’t him up for the lashing “It’s five lashes for disrespecting the pack Luna, and five lashes for disrespecting the Alpha. For your insistence, Christy, that Mischa lied about her heat, then demanding I show you proof. Which shows full disrespect. Those 10 lashes are for you, not me,” he told her.
“W… What?” Christy stammered.
Mischa nodded, “You really should pay attention when I teach you things. It’s also standard practice in every wolfen pack. Even your home pack has that law. So don’t go trying to claim I did not tell you about it.
”
She stood up, walked over and picked up a manila folder, held it out to Anthony himself. “Here is her old
pack’s law on it, and ours, and Christy’s pack handbook, which has her own initials next to our law about that very thing, to say she’s read it and understands it,” she smiled right at him. “As you’re well aware one has to initial each law in their pack’s handbook to say they read it and understand it.”
She looked past Anthony to Christy and saw that she–wolfs annoyance at Mischa’s pointing out something so very obvious to everyone inside this room. Then she just smiled at Christy gently. “Do you need the Elders to teach you instead of me?” she asked, “If you’d rather someone else does it because you think I’m lacking in my teaching of you, it can be arranged for a former Luna to teach you.” she offered and returned
to her seat.
“Two years and she hasn’t got a grasp on the first rule of the pack! Mischa, how often does Christy have Luna Lessons?” Elder Debbie asked.
“Every day she is willing to sit and have them… Though,” Mischa turned and looked at the Elders. “I believe she’s easily distracted by Anthony’s scent.” She stated, “He only has to walk past the door, and she’s up and gone off to be with him. Perhaps, Deb, you should do the lessons from now on, in your office away from the Alpha’s office. There would be no distractions from your office. Just quiz her first to see what she’s learned and take it from there.” Mischa smiled at her.
“What?” Christy stated. “That’s not fair we’re newly mated.”
Mischa snorted and leaned back in her chair. “My foot, two years is not considered newly mated, and didn’t you just get enough of him from your nine–day heat, where he mated you to the point of injury?” Why do you even want to be near him right now?” she asked.

“Enough,” Anthony muttered as he put that folder back on the table. “If everyone is just going to start pointing out Christy’s shortcomings, I’ve heard enough.”

“That’s not what we’re doing,” Elder May stated. “It’s just almost unfathomable that she doesn’t know the pack laws is all and Mischa isn’t wrong if, after two years, she needs a quieter place or someone else to teach her, then there is nothing wrong with asking one of us to do it. Deb?”
“Happy to help. We can start it the day after tomorrow,” Elder Debbie answered with a smile.
“Fine, she can study with you, Elder Debbie, from now on. If we’re done here?” Anthony stated.
“We’re not,” Elder Allen stated. “I believe Luna Mischa still has a bone to pick that hasn’t been dealt with. Mischa?”
“I do,” she nodded and turned to Anthony directly. “You, Anthony, accused me yourself of a crime.”
He sighed. “Yes, but you accused me as well, it was an argument that got out of hand is all.”
“Hmm, I accused you… before or after you came at me… with a faked sincerity of flowers as an excuse to bring it up; your accusation.” She put to him.
“It wasn’t like that,” he stated flatly.
“How about we let the Elders decide who is right or wrong? Three of them are Lunas and three are Alphas.
It’s a fair split for this particular deliberation; Alpha versus Luna, yes,” she asked. She wasn’t just here to
bring Christy down and see her punished.
She watched as his jaw tightened and then started to tick because he knew every one of them would be able to read between the lines like she’d done that day. That if a Luna was truly mad at her Alpha Mate, they let it be known or proved they had a right to be mad.
Everyone in this room knew that; had likely all been there and done that, or been on the receiving end of their Luna at one point or another. “All I did was return the favor, and you didn’t like it… well, neither did! She muttered. “Let’s watch you and I argue once more and fire those accusations around again shail we, just to refresh everyone’s memory of how it went down.” She looked to Kendrick “Please play it again from
r when Anthony walks into my office until I call for the investigation.”
He nodded, and it was replayed for all to refocus their attention on this very argument, and when it ended, Anthony sighed heavily and stated “I would never have said any of that if…” he trailed off as a deep frown
marred his face.
“If you had gotten the facts first, right?” Elder Debbie murmured. “I see you let Christy influence you all the time where Mischa is concerned.” She muttered.
“I’m used to it, Deb,” Mischa shrugged. “But as a Luna to this pack, I must get to the bottom of why our Alpha continued to Mate Luna Christy. When he voiced he knew or thought something was off about her heat, which he did. It’s right there for all to hear,” she stated, and then turned to Anthony. “Why did you not stop mating her and treat her like one of the she-wolves that would be abducted and have wolves forced upon them? I don’t understand that coming from you.” She shook her head.

“It’s not like that.” Anthony gasped out at what she was implying, and he wasn’t wrong to think that it’s what she was implying.
“Then explain her injured state to all in this room in a way that we can all understand.” She offered him the chance to explain, something he’d not done when she’d asked him during that original argument.
“Yes, Anthony, please do explain that to us all.” Elder Simone stated, “I’d like to know why.”
“Me to.” Both Brent and Paul stated together. The pack doctor and pack Gamma also wanted to know why the Alpha hadn’t called for help and tried to stop himself from harming his own Mate and Luna.
