CH 28
Paul was quiet for a tong moment before putting a hand on her and stopping her before they even reached the stairs that led down to the ballroom. “She’ll have to keep using her own pheromones if she wants to keep playing; the I didn’t do anything to myself card. Otherwise, her blood tests will come back and show it was induced by either synthetic pheromones or someone else’s pheromones. Both of those will show up in the blood work as proof she orchestrated the heat herself.”
Mischa nodded at him, “I’m aware of that, and as the Luna who’ll be affected by this very thing happening again and again, I have the right to ask for her blood work to be checked after each heat that just happens to coincide with mine.
“Because you, now having read everything, also understand that it’s extremely rare for the Goddess to do that, as well, could state that yourself, say you looked into it because you, as a concerned Gamma for both of your Lunas, researched it and found out the finer details of mate bond like what Anthony has. Because you wanted to see if there was a way to stop it or help as the Gamma.
“This here and now will make it my given right to suspect something is off about each of those heats she suddenly gets while I’m in heat, because I’m not going into heat when she is, it’s just her when I am, so she can’t say it’s because one of us was in heat that the other automatically went into heat as well.
“I will also request an investigation into her blood work, relate every heat back to this moment to get that blood work done. No one, not even Anthony, will deny me that. He was actually the one to request her blood be tested anyway, so it’s likely he’ll do it himself,” she stated thoughtfully.
“Hmm, you’ve thought a lot about this I see,” Paul mused.
“Mm, I thought a lot about many things and all the pain I will have to suffer,” Mischa nodded. “You know as well as I do, Christy is trying to make me obsolete and not needed or wanted. She’s been trying to eclipse my life from the day she scented Anthony out. I wouldn’t even believe she’s his Goddess–Gifted if I hadn’t
seen it with my own eyes,” Mischa told him.
“Me either to be honest, and I thought something was off when she refused my help coming out of that suite, at the end of her heat. Now I see why she wouldn’t let me near her. Has a secret she doesn’t want getting out. So, seeing as she doesn’t want my help, I’m at your call, Luna Mischa, and I’ll help you only. Here’s what I will do. I’ll make sure to absently make mention of that pheromone fact at some point before your next heat.” Paul smiled at her. “It could see her be warned off repeating it and see her pull her head in,
finally.”
“I doubt it, Paul. She wants to be the one to give Anthony his first heir to the pack, solidifying her place at his side always, before I can. As the mother to the heir of the pack, that is what her other title will be, and she’ll be able to stand where I do alongside him on his right, not his left, and I will be seen as his second
Mate and Luna. She hates being known as his second Mate.
“This is what I believe is the true reason she did all this. Anthony came into my suite when he felt my heat and told me it was time to have an heir. I dare say Christy knew this little bit of information; that Anthony

is wanting ine to produce him an heir and is the very reason she was seen on the camera in the Alpha hallway all angry about me being in heat.”

Paul was now just standing there staring at her as he came to the realization that she could well in fact be right. When that one statement was held up to all that Christy had done, refusing to believe Mischa was in heat, setting off her own heat cycle with her own pheromones, which, from the research, he now knew she’d injected into herself; to get that reaction she had, and then keep Anthony in her room regardless of the pain it caused her from being over mated.
She nodded to him as she saw true anger and annoyance cross his face. “It’s actually my right as Anthony’s first Mate and Luna to be the one to produce the pack’s first heir. This could well be something he and she talked about.” She shrugged as she moved on down the stairs. “I wouldn’t know I don’t get involved in their pillow talk. Not interested in that at all,” she told him, “but Anthony could have stated those very words to Christy.”
“That is actually very likely. I know Anthony actually does what you to birth the pack’s heir, and yes, he does believe it is your right as his first Mate and Luna to do that. Hold that title of the mother of the heir to the pack,” Paul nodded.
“If he told Christy that, what do you think she would do with that knowledge? Harm me, perhaps try to get Anthony to harm me so it never comes about?” she mused for him, so he too would think about that very thing.
“Likely what we saw is exactly what came from that knowledge he imparted to her; about who he wants to produce the pack’s heir.” Paul muttered.
“It’s a war of the Lunas right now,” Mischa stated with a nod. “Only I don’t and won’t play dirty, deceitful games, don’t need to be seen as trying to cheat her out of anything. It’s not who I am, and I won’t stoop to her level. I’m better than that. If he can’t see it and eventually loses me, Paul it will be his fault.”
“Agreed,” Paul nodded with a heavy sigh. “I’ll not stop you from leaving or even try if you get to that point,
Mischa.”
She nodded. “Thank you for the respect, Gamma. I truly will appreciate it.” They walked through the
packhouse heading for the ballroom. “Does he even know I’ve moved rooms yet?” she asked curiously.
“Not that I’m aware of… He spent all those nights in the Luna’s Medical Suite with Christy.” Paul sighed.
“Hmm, nothing unusual about that. It’s what loving Mates do.” She nodded.
“He didn’t do it for you, Mischa.” Paul sighed heavily this time.
“He’s got extenuating circumstances on that one. I had Brent knock me unconscious anyway.” She
shrugged it off. “So what does it matter in the grand scheme of things! I, however, did document it
properly.”
They walked into the ballroom, and she was seated with the Alpha Unit, right where Anthony would normally sit. Directed to her seat by Elder Ray when she walked in, and they sat and waited for the pack to

all be there and settle into the chairs that were all lined up neatly in row upon row, so the entire pack could be there.
Then Anthony and Christy were brought into the room through the outside doors, not allowed to walk through the packhouse, just one more thing that showed they were in the wrong. Not only were both of them sporting those silver cuffs, but they were also wearing prisoner garments That shocked her more than a little. She’d not requested for that to happen and was honestly a bit confused about why they were wearing those smocks as well.
She’d not once even thought about asking for them to be put in those brown smocks that defined you were being punished for something. She felt Kendrick connect a mind–link to her as those two were walked through the room by the pack’s War General Issac, and one of the Elders. ‘Anthony requested they wear it. All of Christy’s jewelry was removed, as well as her make–up too, he told her.
‘He also did not spend the night in the same cell as Christy, not even in the one next to hers. He was four cells away from hers all night long. It’s likely the very first time she’s had to sleep without him in almost a year, I’d say.‘ Kendrick murmured.
‘It’d be about that.’ Mischa nodded.
‘You can check the cell footage as well to see it for yourself. I put him in that cell, and I retrieved him from the same one this morning!‘
She moved her eyes to Kendrick, and she shook her head after the link dissolved; she didn’t need to see it. She knew that if Kendrick stated that, then that was how it had been. He was a good Beta as far as she was concerned. Sat next to her now and reported to her what he thought she would want to hear, acted like she was the Alpha now, as he’d done when he’d followed her orders on starting that investigation.
The entire pack turned and stared at Anthony and Christy as they were brought in to stand before her, and
many murmurs went through the crowd about their attire. None of them had to hold in or hide their comments, confirmed prisoners had no rights, and they were seeing their Alpha and his second Luna dressed as just that.
They could say anything they wanted to right now and have no backlash whatsoever. Not even after those
two came off the shaming posts could they hunt them down and round on them or try to punish them for it. That could be reported to the Elders and would only see either Anthony or Christy punished once more.
The pack knew this so weren’t holding back the murmurs of what they were seeing. Elder May stood and addressed them when they were standing before her. “You will kneel before the pack’s Luna, Luna Mischa.”
Anthony knelt without hesitation, he just dropped down onto his knees and bowed his head down and kept it down, a submissive apologetic position which showed he was not only guilty to the pack, but also that he had regret for all that had happened as well.
Christy stood there and looked at her. She’d not liked hearing the way the elders had stated it, as if only Mischa was the pack’s Luna, that her position had been negated and that she was nothing right now, and she didn’t want to bow down before Mischa.
Claim
The entire pack was now seeing that as well, how much Christy, a prisoner, was disrespecting not only the Elder that had made the request but their Luna as well.
“You will kneel, or youth be made to kneel,” May stated.
Christy huffed and turned to look at the council, looked to be about to say something, only to have Simone stand and state, “Or I’ll rescind Luna Mischa’s generosity towards you, show no leniency at all, and you’ll bear the full weight of our, the Elders will in this matter.”
Christy’s jaw tightened, but she finally sank down to kneel before Mischa right alongside Anthony. It didn’t really surprise her that it would take a full threat of being rejected, branded and banished for Christy to bow down. She had no remorse for what she’d done, likely saw nothing wrong with her actions, just thought of it as a Luna protecting her position.
