The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 35

Mischa walked over to lean on the wall across from the cell, “You don’t know me Christy, you never wanted to get to know me, just to get rid of me as soon as you possibly could, so you could be the only Luna in this pack.

“So, you have no idea how I think or act, or… will react to anything you do. All you’ve seen is me giving way to you at every turn… Did you not once think that was odd?” She shook her head a little, “That the reigning Luna of 20 years would just step aside for you.

“Who was an 18–year–old selfish, petulant she–wolf who showed her true colors the day you scented Anthony out…” Mischa stated simply, it wasn’t exactly the truth, she’d been shoved aside bit by bit, and she knew it, but now it was time to stop being passive about it.

That one heat had told her all she needed to know about not only this she–wolf but her Mate as well. She’d asked him what he would do, who he would go to if they were both in heat, and he’d showed his true colors. So, she had changed from who she was and just accepted being shoved aside to standing up and not relenting.

“I simply have the patience to sit back and wait for you to play your hand… Now, Christy, you have seen just how I play the game. That I will use the pack laws, the pack’s cameras and the Elders all to my advantage.

“So, you go on ahead and play your stupid selfish game and let’s see who will win in the end. You thought you’d have Anthony take my head, and finally you’d be rid of me. Pity you’re not smart, have no education at all, you don’t even know that pack laws something that now works in my favor. I grew up in this pack, know them all inside and out.

“But when you get out, and I’ll let you, it’s up to me. You know that right, when you get out.” She laughed softly and a little menacingly. “I can add to it at will, but when you get out, you continue to play your game, but remember one thing, if you’re stupid enough to try and blame me for something I didn’t do, and get caught out in your lie once again…

“The Elders will demand your head come off, and so will I and regardless of what Anthony wants, a second time around. I’ll request a pack–wide vote. Do you think you’ll survive two traitorous acts, against the Luna to this pack? Oh! and by the way, I am the Luna,

“You’re now just the side piece he enjoys fucking, because no Luna worth her salt would do something so traitorous to her pack. Let alone be stupid enough to get caught for it.” Mischa shook her head. “You really are dumb… I’m still going to be seen after all this, as giving you everything you want, and giving way to you at every turn.” She smiled.

“Which will have the pack see that nothing has actually changed. That Anthony isn’t loyal to

me at all. Still only loyal to you… Making his word no good, who do you think will survive to reign over the pack? With all they now know, that you did, and all they are going to see you continue to do.

“I’m laying the groundwork for you to bury yourself… and take Anthony down with you. It’ll be me who gets the pack, Christy. You’ll be nothing because you’re so set on being the only Luna you can’t see past your own narcissistic selfishness.”

“I’ll tell Anthony everything you said to me here and now, when I get out,” Christy stated.

Mischa laughed, nearly doubled over. “Oh, yes, please do that. Make that the first thing you say to him be an accusation of me trying to unseat him and get rid of you, so I can reign all by myself… You really don’t disappoint now, do you?

“Do you really think accusing me of treason the minute you get out, is going to see him touch your face lovingly, tell you he’ll investigate the matter and have me removed, reject me for being a traitor when you’ve just proven yourself to be one? Yes, go ahead and do that you’re head will come off before mine.”

“I’ll have the Elders order what you said out of me,” Christy snapped.

“Hmm, and you think that will help you, do you? I’m not a traitor, never stated it was what I wanted. Just stated a simple fact of what would happen if you were stupid enough to try and well, look at you already plotting against me. You’ll be dead the day you get out of the cells. “She turned and walked away. “I’ll await your brilliance, genius.”

She walked up the stairs that girl was so dumb. Mischa had no intention of trying to kill either Anthony or Christy. She didn’t need to, that girl was going to be her own downfall, she would bring it upon herself with accusations like that.

The Alpha Unit looked at her amused expression, and she shook her head. “She’s very dumb, already plotting to tell Anthony I’m trying to take over the pack and have him unseated. Funniest thing I have ever heard.” She waved it off. “I warned her she’d lose her head if she accused me of that and couldn’t back it up.” She told them why she was amused.

Which also allowed for them to know in advance what might happen. Kendrick was just staring at her with a deep frown. “22 years of being this pack’s Luna, I think if you were going to do that you’d have done it by now.”

“Hmm.” She nodded. “I’d rather walk away from it, then unseat the bloodline that is to reign

over it.”

“You’re not going to do that, are you Mischa?” Paul asked.

“Not today,” she shook her head. “Stop worrying, I don’t care what she states, and that will be

her downfall, not mine. I would never actually harm the pack, let alone the Alpha to it just for power. I already have that. Christ, I could steal all the pack funds and disappear and that would be the best option open to me, not to try and bring down an Alpha.”

They were all staring at her now and she shook her head. “I’m not going to boys, born into this pack, mated to the Alpha of the pack, and although I hate that bitch of she–wolf. Her being here is the will of the Goddess.” She sighed “Bane of fucking existence but the will of the Goddess nonetheless.”

They all nodded at her. None of them would ever think she’d do something like that and she wouldn’t. She might be ticked off and rapidly running out of feelings for her Mate, but she’d rather leave than destroy the pack.

“Did she miscarry?” Mischa asked as they walked to the packhouse.

She’d not walked past Christy or Anthony out on those shaming posts at all over the past five days, and had not thought to ask that question, none had reported that she had, and Christy hadn’t yelled and screamed at her about making her lose a pup, so she didn’t think so but would ask now.

She’d had them deal with anything Christy related over the past five days. That would

continue until she was released from her cell in a few months‘ time as well.

“No, there was no pup to come from that heat,” Paul answered her, “I monitored her pain and emotions every time I went outside. I also checked on her periodically that first night.”

“Thank you,” she nodded. “Kendrick, I’ll leave you in charge of Anthony’s continued punishment. Just inform me when he’s due to come off that shaming post. Nothing else needs to come to me about him.”

“Yes, Luna.” Kendrick nodded, he understood it was an order.

“Christy?” Dereck asked. “Is she still going to behave as she did prior to all this?”

“I day say after our little chat, she’ll rein it in a bit. Not be so brazen… the words I had with her about her future behavior. I just laid out what I will do and how I will do it. If she keeps up her

behavior.”

“That would be?” Kendrick asked.

“Between myself and her. Though it was enough for her to understand, she needed to change her ways. See that she can’t win against me. I gave her this knowledge to see exactly what she does with it. Will she stop being selfish or simply continue to plot and plan in that head

of hers?

“If she can change for the better, everything will be fine. Go back to how it once was and if not… well.” she sighed heavily. “I guess she’ll suffer the consequences and not at my hand… None of you need to worry that I’m gunning for her or out to extract some sort of revenge. I’m not.” She told them simply. “She will be her own downfall, as I stated earlier.” Mischa reiterated.

“The pack is mad about what she set off,” Paul commented. “She’s lost their trust, they don’t believe it was just an innocent mistake. They understand that a full investigation was conducted, that it was done impartially. By us and the Elders. Some will never forget or forgive what she did.” He told her, “That is what I got from them over the past few days, especially the females of mated pairs.”

“Hmm, can’t really expect much else.” Kendrick murmured. “If you didn’t feel that I’d be concerned.”

They reached the packhouse, and she stated, “I’m turning in for the night boys,” as she walked up the front stairs.

“Luna, there’s heavy snowfall forecast overnight. What do you want to do about that?” Kendrick asked, and she knew it was related to Anthony being on that shaming post.

“Do whatever it is you would normally do to one on a shaming post under these current weather conditions. That wolf is now your charge, of no concern to me until he comes off that shaming post.” She stated, though he might be of no concern even then, she thought absently to herself.

She didn’t use Anthony’s name because those on the shaming post had no status, so she wasn’t required to acknowledge him or address him with even his name. That was just a courtesy if anyone did do that and nothing more.

Mischa returned to her suite, showered and changed into pj’s and then poured herself a glass of wine and stepped out onto the balcony into the bitter cold who was now her friend, she supposed, and it was going to get increasingly colder every day with winter officially only around the corner now, but it was she thought already starting to set in; a bitter coldness was here already, just like there was in her heart.
