CH 55
Mischa walked into Anthony’s office and retrieved Christy’s phone and pack access card she used to access the Luna and Alpha suites, from the locked cupboard behind Kendrick’s desk. It was where all personal items that were taken from pack members were stored while they were under punishment.
Only Anthony, herself, his unit or her unit could access this cupboard. She had to collect Christy’s belongings and return them to her, seeing as Anthony nor any of his unit were here to do that.
A part of her wondered why Anthony wasn’t here to do this himself. Did he not want to see Christy in the cells, in such a state? Or was he not ready to face her, knowing she was going to be angry with him about that punishment he himself had dished out to her?
Had he left the pack on purpose? Or was he really in a meeting? He had to know she didn’t want to be anywhere near Christy, not after the words she’d said about hating her. Was this his way of putting them together, to test the waters between them, to see if one would lose it and attack the other, and he simply didn’t want to be in the pack for a wolfed–out fight
between his two Lunas?
It was odd to her that he wasn’t here, considering he’d pleaded Christy’s case and begged for her to remain at his side and not be banished, showing he didn’t want to lose her. So why wasn’t he here now to release her himself?
She walked from the Alpha’s office to see the Elders were escorting Christy up the stairs. They’d not taken the elevator. Were she knew allowing the pack to see, not only was she out of the cells but all disheveled and dirty; a further humiliation for her to have to suffer before it
was all over.
Mischa took the elevator and reached the top floor before they did, walked to the stairs and waited for them to reach her. She held out Christy’s phone and access card, “This was all that was in the cupboard, I as the Luna return your items to you with the Elders watching on. So, you may once again go on with your life as before,” she stated simply.
Christy nodded to her, took them without saying anything at all, then she walked off down the hall, walked herself straight to the Alpha Suite and swiped her card to the access panel. Showing her that nothing had, in fact, changed, if she was truly repentant she’d have gone to her own actual suite; the Luna Suite, not directly to the Alpha Suite.
That was Mischa believed, Christy’s way of showing her that it was where Christy belonged and Mischa didn’t. Not that it bothered Mischa anymore, she’d already told Anthony to just move that she–wolf in there, and she meant it.

She watched as Christy put her hand on the door handle and pushed it to access the suite only to not have it open. She tried again and still the door wouldn’t budge. Christy turned her eyes to Mischa questioningly and Mischa shrugged. “I don’t know.” She stated and she didn’t. It wasn’t her doing.
Though she did recall Anthony had told her he’d moved Christy’s things out of the Alpha Suite, maybe he had not only moved her out but also revoked her right to be in there as well. Though he’d not told her he’d done that, he had told her he’d not let Christy in there again. Maybe un–coding her access card was his way of proving this to Mischa. He did know she had to return the items to her.
Ah, maybe this was the point of him not being here and her having to do this, because he knew she wouldn’t believe he’d done it. She also wouldn’t come up here and watch Christy try and access the Alpha Suite if he was here, she’d just tell him to do it on his own.
“Your suite, Luna Christy, I believe is the Luna Suite,” May stated simply, “Not the Alpha Suite. I expected you to know this, as it was the agreement two years ago, was it not…”
Christy’s jaw tightened, but she nodded after a moment and turned to face the Luna Suite
across that hall. How that must sting, Mischa thought, a little amused.
“We expect you to respect this decision, which you agreed with yourself. When you first came here, if not many more things will be revoked from you by us, the Elders to this pack,” Simone stated. “As a way of making sure you understand your place.”
She watched as Christy walked across the hall, swiped her card to the access panel and stepped into her suite, closed the door calmly behind her and Mischa wondered just how much of an effort it was for her not to slam that door behind her.
All the Elders were looking at her now. “We’ll keep an eye upon her,” Debbie stated.
“Your Mate too.” Allen murmured.
“Don’t do that, just let them go about their lives,” she told them. “They were both punished. Now it’s time to see if either of them learned from their mistakes and can correct their behavior, become better.”
“Less selfish,” Simone murmured. “Only time will tell, Mischa.”
“We do have a question for you,” Elder Harvey stated. He’d not voiced a single thing throughout the entire process, but he didn’t really talk much, was a quiet man all the time, only spoke when he thought it was absolutely necessary. “Are you going to give Anthony a real chance to redeem himself in your eyes and allow the regrowing of your bond?” he asked.
Mischa nodded. “Yes, though it will be slow–going, to make sure he actually means it. I’m not

planning on rejecting him any time soon… I will give him time to prove he can be a good loving Mate once more. If he truly wants that, of course. I gave him my word before all of you, that I wouldn’t reject him and, so, I won’t.” she answered his question.
And she wouldn’t be, even if he returned to his former ways. But that was solely to see if Christy would still play the game of trying to eclipse her and Mischa’s heats. Something she thought Christy was still going to do.
“Alright. We are glad to hear that, you’ve been a good Luna to this pack, and we would be sad to see you leave. It would also be a full loss to this pack if you did walk away and reject Anthony,” Allen told her.
“Many things can get between an Alpha and Luna, but an Alpha/Luna bond is a precious thing, and they are strong enough to weather some of the harshest things to be thrown at a mated pair,” May stated. “Be strong if not for yourself, then for this pack that you helped save and brought back to life.”
Mischa nodded, “I will be. We live very long lives, and I’m patient enough to see how things will unfold from here on out. I’ll head off, my Unit wants a girl’s night,” she stated, and they all nodded to her, and she walked away down the hall heading for her own suite.
She was just about to walk into it when her phone chimed; Anthony’s name appeared on the screen, and she clicked the message open, curious as to what he wanted. Probably to see how things had gone, she supposed.
The message opened to a picture of a formal dress and under it were the words, ‘What do you think of wearing this to the Gala?‘
Mischa frowned, she’d not even agreed to attend that yet. Why was he out looking at dresses, and wasn’t he supposed to be at an event tonight? ‘I’ve not decided if I’ll go to that. So don’t buy that, she sent back. Then punched in the code to her suite, and walked inside. Her Luna’s unit were in there already; they had the code, because she knew they’d never give it to anyone, not even Anthony, or their own mates. Considering all that had gone on, Anthony letting Christy into her suite.
‘I’ll put it on hold for you then, in case you say yes.‘ Anthonys messaged her right back. ‘Your unit will also be going, all dressed up like this as well.’
She shook her head, ‘As you wish.‘ She replied, then sent, ‘Christy has been released.‘ Seeing as he’d not brought her up.
‘Alright, what are you doing?‘ he messaged her.
Mischa frowned at that message. He sounded quite dismissive of Christy, she thought. There wasn’t even a wait for his reply, he was she knew, keeping that chat box open and responding

right away to her.

She wondered if he was actually being dismissive or just trying not to talk about Christy with her. She had noticed his lack of using her name around her, he tended to state the words ‘Her‘ or ‘my other Mate.‘ or just avoided the topic of Christy around her where it was possible.
It was herself that brought Christy into their conversations of late. She might not like that she–wolf, want nothing to do with her at all, but she couldn’t actually avoid her, or saying her name. She was after all Anthony’s other Mate and that she–wolf wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
She’d not been mean or spiteful today when around Christy, she’d simply followed pack protocol for the releasing of one under pack punishment. She thought she’d been civil as she had always been with Christy.
She sat down in the theater room with the girls and sent back, ‘The girls wanted to have a movie night, so that’s what we’re doing.‘
‘Sounds like fun, have a good night, I’ll be home late, he sent.
She frowned but said nothing, and Letti, Carol and Rebecca were all suddenly on her chair with her “Girl’s night selfie, Mish, smile for the camera.”
She shook her head a little. “You’re all squishing me, you know.” She half–heartedly complained.
Only to have them all squish in even closer until she laughed and Letti snapped their picture and posted it right to the pack’s social media page tagged it ‘movie night.‘
She had to turn her phone to silent from all the notifications of those commenting and liking the post.
She also noticed there was a post from Christy ‘I’m finally home, and there’s no one to even greet me, feeling alone and sad.‘
Mischa shook her head. She knew it was done to tell the pack her own Mate wasn’t here for her release. But she also noted that Christy had stated the word home, not released as well, avoiding the obvious. Mischa didn’t think it was really to draw sympathy from the pack. No, it was there just to draw Anthony’s attention right to her, lonely and sad should make him want to go and comfort her.
But Mischa’s only thought about it was ‘I wonder why.‘
