CH 57
Mischa moved her eyes from Christy to Anthony, and he looked right at her himself. “It is up to her if she wants to sit down and eat with us, Mish. You did offer her to join us for
breakfast yourself. I believe that is acceptable, an offer from one of you to the other, seen as not interrupting or interfering in any way. So, if she declines the invitation of her own choosing, that is on her, not on you or I, Mish.” Anthony elaborated.
She knew it wasn’t to explain it to her, she understood the rules around their three–way mate bond. An invitation was just that, to be accepted or rejected by the other party, and then that other party couldn’t state they were being shunted aside or ignored if they opted not to accept it.
He was in fact explaining it to all of those here in this dining room that had just seen Christy come in here, state those words and then leave as if upset. She wondered if his eyes and ears were actually open to Christy now, and he was also starting to read into her actions and words, listen to where she put those pauses or hesitant words.
Mischa saw it as Christy was back on her game plan, because the first thing she’d done upon getting out of the cells was put up a post that showed she was alone, and Anthony hadn’t
been there for her when she’d returned to the suite. Now she’d come in here and stated that
no one had stocked her fridge or pantry.
That Mischa believed was because it was actually never stocked, she never slept in there, had been living in the Alpha Suite for months on end, so no food needed to be in the Luna Suite. Only when she’d been released she’d found she’d been locked out of the Alpha Suite, something she’d not expected.
She’d come down here on purpose to be seen to eat by herself, once again portraying she was alone and being ignored, as that post last night had shown.
Mischa saw Christy’s footfall stop for a moment at hearing Anthony’s words and her fists balled at her sides, and Mischa knew she was right as Christy then walked off at her regular pace. Yes, it was all an act, she’d just tried to play the lonely, sad and pitiful card, only she’d not gotten the desired reaction from Anthony that she normally would, when she looked or sounded upset. He’d not gotten up and gone right to her to try and comfort her, as he would normally do. That was interesting to Mischa.
She looked back to him. “Have you gone and spoken to her at all since her release from punishment?” Mischa asked casually as she ate her breakfast.
“Mm, briefly… Last night, when the boys and I returned to the pack. I told her simply, to get a proper night’s rest in her suite. Kendrick handed her the new schedule she is to follow. The

one we agreed upon. I let her read it, then informed her that I now see just how much time I spent with her over the past year, and that it was unfair to you,
“That I could see I have been neglecting you in favor of her, that I will be rectifying this, and if she thinks that is unfair, or that I am spending more time with you, she had better be able to explain why, in a calm, logical way, as to why she believes this.
“Then I told her I will be documenting who I’m spending my time with, to make sure it is fair, and I suggest she do the same to be able to show me proof of me spending more time with you if that is her complaint.”
Mischa raised an eyebrow at him. “Document it?” she queried.
“Mm, like I’m certain you did… Just never put it before me,” he sighed. “You probably should have done that. Might have stopped all of this,” he murmured.
Mischa shrugged, she’d told him, and he’d brushed her off and told her to bear with it; they’d been mated for two decades. Putting that proof before him wouldn’t have changed anything. He knew what he was doing, in his mind he had a logical reason for spending more time with Christy. She’d just given him what he requested, wanting to see him happy, and tried to bear with it, only it had seen her become unhappy over time.
“I do this, Mish, so that she can’t come and complain to me and see me, just accept her
words. There will need to be proof on her end now, considering what has happened to our bond over it… I also slept in my suite last night, not hers. And I spoke with her this morning prior to training, about how Saturday and Sundays were going to go from now on.
“Despite your and her new schedules. I will still be alternating every day, and so, to make up for lack of my time with whichever one of you is with me on a Sunday, I will be spending Saturday at couples training and then having breakfast with whomever that is,” he told her.
“Alright.” Mischa nodded, seems he had put a lot of thought into this, even though she’d tried to keep things with him and Christy the same as before, he’d made other arrangements himself.
“I do believe Mischa, it was Christy who originally complained about the unfairness of my Sunday’s free time.” He sighed.
She could only nod, because it had been. When technically it would all work out even in the grand scheme of things. She’d not really been concerned about it, and she was actually used to not really seeing him on Sundays, so she had never even thought to complain about it. She just took the time to hang out with her unit and social group.
“You voiced many things to me over the past two months, and I can now see where I have wronged you, that I did indulge Christy too much, and you proved your point about her

interrupting us on purpose, when we’re together.

“She even broke pack laws to do so and got more punishment dished out, knew there would be more punishment added to her sentence, and yet still interrupted us. I think she did it just to see you get mad about it and walk away from me. Which you did that first time.”
It did appear that his eyes were open, and she wondered if they would stay that way or if he’d fall back into the same traps. She’d just watched Christy play the pitiful act, though she’d not burst into tears and run away like she’d have done, before being caught out and punished.
So, she believed something had changed. Perhaps today was just Christy testing the waters on Anthony’s new–found resolve, to not let her push her way in between them and right this minute he wouldn’t be swayed.
Because he knew if he couldn’t prove his intentions were to be a good Mate to herself while he was still mated to Christy, he’d lose her, and he’d already expressed that he didn’t want to lose her or Christy. He had to prove to Mischa that he could ignore Christy’s pity act and spend time with her and Christy equally.
She wondered what would happen once he got that, once he believed they were all good and happy once more. She finished her breakfast and Anthony walked her all the way to her office, smiled at her and then stated, “I’m going to post about the new couples training. You
can too.”
“Alright.” She nodded simply and walked to her desk. She got the notification for his post 10 minutes later because he tagged her in it. There were plenty of pictures of the mated pairs sparring, wrestling and spotting each other, of everyone having fun and enjoying the new training he’d started.
There was a photo of her and Anthony sitting on that bench, him right behind her, and she was laughing. He was smiling as well in that picture. She understood it had been taken while they were watching those three girls pile on their father.
The post was tagged “A new fun way to spend time with your Mate, Couples training now every Saturday.” She hit the like button and then returned her attention to her work.
She looked to next week’s schedule as she added something she needed to do to it, and saw that next Sunday, just eight days away, was going to be Valentine’s Day, and she leaned back in her chair and kind of just stared at that day. Wondering what to do about that very thing. Technically, it would fall on a Christy day, seeing as Anthony was back to wanting alternating days. Anthony would have to spend it with her and not Mischa.
Then she realized that she could resolve the issue of Christy getting ticked off at her about Anthony wanting to interrupt their regular Sunday, which just happened to be Valentine’s Day,

She had that open invitation to the Blue Lotus Spa. She could opt to go there for the weekend. She had told Nicholas she would see to taking him up on the offer, in seven or eight weeks, that would be now. She also had Sunday and Mondays off, so that actually worked into her schedule. She wouldn’t even have to miss any work.
Mischa nodded to herself as she pulled out her phone and scrolled through it until she got to Lucinda’s number and pressed the dial button. It connected on the fourth ring. “Hi Mischa.” Lucina answered the call.
“Afternoon Lucinda, how are you doing?” she asked.
“Smothered,” Lucinda answered her, “Being pregnant comes with its own extra clingy problems.”
Mischa heard a low growl come from the other end, and she chuckled, knowing Nicholas was likely right there as well. “I see Nicholas is stuck to you like glue.”
“Yes, it gets very annoying at times. For a pure–blooded Alpha, he’s at times as clingy as an insecure little girl… unfortunately, there isn’t much I can do about it. Other than clubbing him with Granny’s cane at times…” Lucinda then snickered as another growl came from the background. “You’ll see yourself one day soon, I feel. After all, I heard from Nick about
Anthony’s possessiveness that you set off.”
“Hmm, sorry about that.” Mischa apologized to her.
“It’s all good, Nick called and told me about it from your pack that very day. I also know you, nor he, would ever do anything to harm your Mates.”
“Correct,” Mischa nodded.
“So what can I do for you?” Lucinda asked.
“I need a spa weekend, just, to you know, get away from things for a few days. Nicholas offered.” Mischa stated.
“Yes, I could use that myself, I’ll join you, could use a massage that doesn’t lead to… well you know.” Lucinda stated and Mischa heard Nicholas chuckle himself. She got her meaning,” When are you thinking of coming down?”
“Next weekend, arrive on Saturday night, and stay until Monday afternoon or even leave really early Tuesday morning to get home in time to start work in the office.” She stated.
“Is your working schedule different now?” Nicholas asked, and she heard the real curiosity in him.

“Yes, I now work Tuesday through Saturday, have Sunday and Monday’s off, Christy works Sunday to Thursday and has Friday, Saturday’s off.”
There was silence for only a moment. “So what I’m hearing is you’ve reduced your combined time in the Luna’s office, down to only three days a week?” Nicholas commented.
“You don’t miss much, do you, Nicholas?” Mischa murmured.
“Not when I’m looking for what I believe is going on. Lucinda and I have discussed it, the offer still stands.” He sighed. “Whenever you want to walk away, our gates are open for you.”
“Thank you.” Mischa nodded. It was nice to know she had somewhere to go.
