The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 63

On Sunday, at 3am Mischa was woken by Paul, her Gamma, by a mindlink, Mischa, just to let you know, Anthony informed us all, Christy has just gone into heat.’

Alright, she’d murmured still half asleep. Please follow pack protocol and document it accordingly.

I willum Mischahe hesitated to tell her something, and then he just sighed down through that mindlink. They’re inside the Alpha Suite. Apparently, Christy felt it come on before Anthony and his wolf woke to know it was happening. She went right to his suite andPaul trailed off, not wanting to finish that sentence.

So she did for him, as she rolled over in her bed and settled on her other side. He yanked her into his suite, when he felt it, and saw her right there out in the open hallway where anyone could get to her.’ she yawned.

Paul sighed once more You don’t even sound upset by this.’

Hmm, kind of expected it to be honest, Paul. Her putting herself at risk to others like that, just to have Anthony pull her into the Alpha Suite? What else is new? It’s not like we don’t know she’s willing to cause herself harm, in order to get what she wants

Honestly, if someone else mated her because she was out there, when her heat bloomed, Anthony would probably just blame himself for not being next to her when it happened. She’d also use that guilt to keep him next to her always.’

She thought about that very thing. Why would any shewolf put themselves at risk like Christy had just done? She had no access to the Alpha Suite at the moment, and she wanted to be in there, as she always did. She sighed softly to herself as she lay there.

It’s probably what she was hoping for, regardless of him getting hit with pains of betrayal, Mischa relayed her thoughts to Paul. She didn’t have to hold anything back from him, he would not only listen but likely sift through what she said and see if it was logical to himself as well.

He’d blame himself for not giving her access to his suite, so she could have just gone in there right away when her heat bloomed, and therefore she’d not be mated by another.Paul mused along with her and then huffed himself.

Yes, he’d see it as his fault, Mischa stated simply, and she knew he would, because what Luna didn’t have access to the Alpha Suite is what it would come down too. Christy was his Mate, and she should be allowed in that suite and if she had been, it could have prevented it. She shook her head, The result would have been the same as it is now. Christy would get a

new access card to the Alpha Suite out of something like that.

There are a few up, roaming the packhouse as well, one shewolf and two male warriors.Paul muttered, Luckily, they were in the library at the other end of the packhouse, I dare say.

Hmm, or she checked that very thing and knew she’d be safe, so she took the risk.Mischa sighed, just what wouldn’t that shewolf do to worm her way back into the Alpha Suite? Not many shewolves would risk themselves to something like that, certainly not a Luna with her own suite, when a mindlink to her Alpha Mate would see him wake up, feel the heat bloom and go right to her suite in order to see no threat come to her.

Heat number two, and in just three months, Paul stated, interrupting her own train of thought.

Yes, and I’m due to go into heat in just three months, first week of May. I guess Paul, it’s time to let the Game of Heats begin.’ She snorted, somewhat amused, into her own room. It could be three in six months come May.

Unheard of.Paul murmured I guess we’ll see.he’d dropped the mindlink.

She woke up to see Paul’s documentation of Christy’s heat. Luna Christy is once again in heatit’s oddshe was only in heat three months ago, with an overly long and aggressive heatthis is her second heat. Normally, only has one heat a year.

I will restart her yearly heat cycle from the previous heat from the first week of November. It will likely be expected that Christy will now have two heats a year?

Mischa had added her own note to it, I was informed of Luna Christy’s heat at about 3am by the packs Gamma, Paul.

Then her days had moved on without issue. Those five days had been hasslefree and calm. She’d worked in both the Luna’s and Accounting offices, gone to training and not once even thought to interrupt Anthony as he tended to Christy’s heat. Just accepted it as one should.

Those two came out of that room on Friday morning all smiles and Christy was on his arm going on about how she was certain that they’d conceived a pup and the pack would get an heir soon, in just a few short months.

She saw Mischa walking towards them, and slid her hand to her lower abdomen and rubbed it as if she was already pregnant. I will safeguard the heir to the pack, she’d stated as she’d smiled right at her, a little on the smugly side.

Mischa had beamed a happy smile right back at her. I hope so, it’s about time this pack got an heir.” She said without so much as missing a beat. May the Goddess bless you both with a healthy pup.And then she’d just continued on, hadn’t even bat an eyelid at what she was

seeing or had heard.

Mischa where are you going?Anthony called to her as she’d walked on by them without stopping to greet him.

To my office, it’s Friday, and I believe it’s a Christy day too,she called over her shoulder. Go spend it shopping for that heir she’s carrying. She smiled merrily to herself. That would just be another Christy free day for her.

She even heard Christy state with excitement, We should go look at things for a nursery.”

Mischa?Anthony called out to her once more.

She turned and looked at him as she waved a waiting teen into her office and waved him off. Go have a nice day.And then she simply closed the door to his frowning face.

She turned her attention to that teen and smiled at her. Don’t concern yourself, it’s not my day to spend with him. It’s also Christy’s weekend. Come sit. She’d walked her across the room to listen to why she was here in this office and not attending her normal school day.

Anthony walked into her office after she saw that teen out. There had been a fairly lengthy conversation, and Mischa would go and deal with the issue after school was out. She had mindlinked to the school’s headmaster to tell her that Shay wouldn’t be attending today. It was Luna approved.

She sat at her desk and looked up at Anthony. She’d thought he would have gone shopping, that Christy would have swayed him into it. Instead, he was here and frowning down at her, Five days since we’ve seen each other, and you dismissed me and walked off like you’d seen me five minutes ago. Did you not miss me at all?

Mischa shook her head. Did you miss me?she asked in return.

He blinked at her comment, because the answer was no. He’d not thought about her once, or she seriously doubted it. Being with Christy when she was in heat was his happy place, she thought.

Anthony, I don’t concern myself with you when you’re attending Christy’s heat, it’s not my place to. I was also very busy. There were four pups born and accounting tasks to be attended to. I also had Luna duties like checking on new mums and pups from the previous

week

Though she was practically glowing out there, how is she doing? It must be tiring having two heats in just three months. Was it normal?she asked, changing the subject completely.

He nodded. “Perfectly normally, and at least now we don’t have to worry about her heat

clashing with yours in November,he answered her.

Mm, a good thing,” Mischa nodded herself. Why are you here in my office, when it’s a Christy day and also her day off, and you’re not in the office? Shouldn’t you be with her all day?she asked.

Because I’ve not seen you in five days,” he stated, sounding as if he didn’t like having to repeat himself. And about what Christy said in earshot of you this morning, I’m sorry about that, I’ll have her curb that very thing.”

Mischa’s brows knit together as she frowned, not understanding him. What are you talking about? I don’t know what you’re thinking, but Christy didn’t do or say anything to me this morning that I thought was offensive, disrespectful or even angered me a little. And the woman hadn’t. Mischa was hoping the girl was pregnant. That would likely solve much for her. Certainly draw Anthony right to Christy all the time and likely see Christy go right back to interrupting them on their days, due to her being pregnant, that shewolf would be able to use growing pains as an excuse to connect a mindlink to him and pull him away from Mischa.

He would not only want to go but feel like he had a responsibility to go as well, so he would likely apologize, explain why and excuse himself from whatever they were doing. He would also want to sleep in her bed every night, as well, once again showing he didn’t split his time evenly and only cared to sleep in Christy’s bed.

That shewolf getting pregnant would be just setting him up to fail, and nothing more.

She was going on about carrying the heir to the pack,Anthony stated, interrupting her own thoughts.

Oh, that,Mischa waved it off, uncaring. That doesn’t bother me at all. You two are Mates, I’m not concerned about it, you two will have an heir eventuallyI did tell you to let Christy birth the pack’s heir, did I not? It’s fine.

He was now standing there staring at her with narrowed eyes as if trying to work her out, or maybe he was trying to read between the lines of her words. She was partly amused at that expression on his face.

What did you really think I would mind? I honestly don’t,” she told him with a smile.

That, right there. Is what bothers me.He pointed to her smile. That you don’t mind if Christy has the first heir to the packYou’re my Mate and Luna of 22 years and you should mind. You should want or demand to be the one to birth the pack’s heir, because it’s your

right.

I’m not that petty, she shook her head. It’s also not up to me, now, is it. It’s up to the will of the Goddess who gives this pack an heir.
