They walked about a shopping mall, and she looked at many things though didn’t go about spending pack money, though again, with the new pay system in place, that money in her bank card was no longer considered pack funds, she’d been paid for the work she’d done fair and square.
But still she wasn’t about to go and waste it, she was actually thinking about that law degree and knew that would be expensive. She would also need a nest egg for the day she walked away from the pack. Though it was nice to know that not only did the Alpha Unit know she was going to, but all their Mates as well, and none of them had gone to Anthony about it or were trying to talk her out of it.
This just proved that although they had sworn loyalty to Anthony and the pack, the pack actually came before their Alpha. Which is how it should be. She understood a loyalty pledge didn’t actually mean one had to tell their Alpha everything and help him to deceive others into getting what he wanted, or inform him of things he should realize himself.
No, a loyal pledge to the Alpha just meant that you wouldn’t actively go out of your way to harm him, tell pack secrets to other un–allied pack’s Alphas or their units was all. No betraying pack secrets was all it truly meant.
Whereas the pack pledge meant you were pledging loyalty to the wolves that lived within the pack itself. So, you wouldn’t bring about harm to any of them on purpose, you would in fact give your support to those that needed it, and that included herself.
That pledge also included allowing all pack members to make choices for themselves, in all aspects of their lives. If she opted to leave and when, that would be her choice, and the reason why she would leave, after being a Luna for so very long. Well, that was obvious to all and even Anthony’s own unit were staying out of it, knew she had the right to make that choice of her own free will, regardless of the fact that she was mated to their Alpha, and they’d pledge loyalty to him. Everyone had the right to reject a Mate.
Her leaving him was his own fault and, therefore, they were not betraying their loyalty pledge to Anthony because it wasn’t like she hadn’t voiced to him more than once that he should just reject her. It was pretty darned clear that was not only what she wanted but was in fact going to come about.
They were just sitting back waiting to see if Anthony would actually realize she was going to leave him, that he was the unworthy one. Most Alphas would do anything and everything to save a Mate Bond if they wanted to stay in it. He did not do that, which showed to even his own unit he didn’t want her anymore.

He was, in fact, just trying to keep her here bound to him by the will of the Goddess because he didn’t have the balls to reject her and tell the pack he only wanted Christy. Because they would see him as a callous bastard that used Mischa just to save the pack, and now that he didn’t need her for that… he was tossing her aside for, as the humans liked to state, a newer, younger model.
She knew they, as well as the Elders, were not only seeing everything in full, but were waiting for the day she herself had simply had enough and walked away, were waiting to see just how long it would take for their own Alpha to notice his Luna had walked away. She had a feeling Paul understood that it was going to be while she was still bound to him as well. They possibly all knew that she’d walk out of this pack without issuing a rejection, simply to make her point in full that he not only didn’t care, but that he didn’t even know she was gone.
“Mischa, this is going to sound a bit on the really crazy side,” Letti stated, as they sat down in a restaurant for dinner that night. It was a place owned by one of their allies, and they were taken to a private room for wolves only, and she thanked them for it.
“We all know, one can get pregnant outside a heat.” Lett stated
“Mm.” she nodded as she picked up the menu to see what she wanted to eat.
“If and when, and I stress the if part, because I don’t see it happening, but if you and Laud would be willing to take one for the team. Mind you, I don’t encourage it; he doesn’t deserve to touch you ever again. But something like that could be timed out perfectly.”
“What exactly do you mean?” she asked curiously. They’d dropped the topic while out in public, but it seems her unit were still thinking about it.
“Like take the hit for the team. Say a week prior to him going to a mating ball, and you could play the not feeling well card, we don’t get sick unless we’re in the very early stages of pregnancy, that is. So, you could play the ‘I think I might be pregnant card‘. All you have to do is just time it out perfectly, for when Anthony is not in the pack, but due home the next day or that night even.” Letti smiled at her.
“Oh, I see where this is going,” Rebecca chuckled. “You or one of us could mention it within earshot of Christy, and if she’s that desperate, to give him the first heir. It could see her induce herself into a heat out of nowhere, to try and get pregnant at the same time as you. This plan will also confirm without a doubt she does it to herself and why.”
“Hmm it could. Though I don’t know; if I was already pregnant in her eyes, I would give birth before her.” Misha mused.
“Hmm, but this is Christy; desperate to have the firstborn, she’ll just plot to induce herself into early labour to birth her pup before yours.” Carol commented, “Hell, for all we know, she could

already have that all planned out inside her mind now, why she did what she did in the first place.
“She had to have a plan in place if you got pregnant. Anthony was in your room for a full day, so it was already a possibility in her mind, seeing as she didn’t know you were on birth control, so I dare say she’s already got a plan to supersede you on that.”
It was quite logical, “My bloodline is better than hers too, so I would likely give birth weeks before her. She’d have to risk having a prematurely born heir, induce herself a good four weeks before it was due if she did get pregnant,” she nodded as she thought about it.
But then she shook it off. “No, I think she’d be more likely looking to push me down some stairs,” Mischa murmured. “It’s why I’m still on birth control, to prevent anything happening to any pup I might conceive, I’m also not looking to have Anthony in my bed again, unless I actually have to because I’m in heat.” She shook her head no.
“Hmm, alright… but what if we can make her think it anyway?” Rebecca asked after a moment of thought. “I think she’s dumb enough to believe anything she heard in passing, and not want to risk you having the pack’s heir.”
“How would we even go about something like that?” Mischa was curious.
“Anthony would only have to spend the night in your suite with you. There doesn’t have to be sex, he’s not going to admit that you didn’t let him touch you. He would be looking for everyone to see you’d forgiven him, and so wouldn’t admit that nothing happened.
“Likely make a point of saying something did in some obscure way, so the pack would come to think you two were finally back together, and that would be all it would take for Christy to
believe it.” Rebecca smiled.
“Hell, you could take it one step further and tell him he can tell everyone the two did have sex to help settle the pack’s fear of you leaving him,” Letti nodded. “I’m certain he would agree to do that, he wants the pack to see you’re all good.”
They ordered food and continued to talk about it, when Carol suddenly chuckled out of nowhere after getting a text. “Oh, I got it. We can actually do this, my sister over in the Rising Blue Lotus is finally pregnant,” she waved her phone at them. “She just sent me the recording of her first sonogram, her pups‘ strong, steady heartbeat. She’s so excited she sent it to
everyone in the family chat. Because they’ve been trying for five years now.
“We could place a small recording device on to your lower abdomen, so when you play you’re not feeling unwell, and Christy is likely to tune into your abdomen. She’ll actually hear the heart beat and freak out, definitely induce herself into a heat over something like that.” Carol chuckled.

They were all now just sitting staring at Carol as the plot seemed to thicken. “You guys all know you’re plotting against Anthony’s beloved Christy, right?”
“No, it’ll be us playing a practical joke on you. I can see a plan formulating on that. What Christy does to herself from seeing it is completely up to her. She’ll have the choice to just be mad and walk away. Do nothing and accept the will of the Goddess, or inject herself with her own pheromones, and cause that all aggressive heat again. We’re not harming her. We’re technically just playing a trick and on you, not her is how it’ll come off.”
“She’s actively plotting against you to see you and Anthony reject each other, and you leave him. We’re not doing that, you’re not doing that to her, and I’m not saying we do it all the time. Just once to see what she does with it is all. Will she, in fact, set something into motion that will see her be injured by Anthony once more, or try and push you down the stairs?” Letti shrugged.
“Aside from all that you said, Mischa, about us harming Anthony’s former Luna… she was deemed to have traitorous tendencies, was in fact punished for that very thing. Therefore, she is actually a traitor. Just got forgiven by you at Anthony’s request… Oh, wait… the Elders are devious. I now see what they did, that none of us have realized.
“The Elders did not actually ask the pack to forgive Christy for her crime against you. No, they just demanded that the pack be informed of the crime, and to see Christy be punished for it. So, by that very thing, we do not have to see her as a true Luna to the pack, and neither do they, regardless of what Anthony wants.
“We do not have to care about her; she is, in fact, a full traitor who tried to see your death come about at Anthony’s own hand. So, that she was in the clear, of being seen as a traitor, only she got caught. She has no rights at all. Even though she didn’t get branded a traitor, the entire pack knows she is, in fact that, and not only to yourself.
“But technically, she also betrayed Anthony as well, because she was lining it up so that he was the one kill a pack’s Luna, and have no reason to do so because, there was, in fact, no
crime committed at all.”
