The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 82

Mischa stared at him and stated what she wanted to, in full. The gloves were off, and they were staying off. This is the only warning you’ll get, seeing as you announced to the pack so very arrogantly, that I would never leave you, nor reject you, and you wouldn’t reject me. That we’re going to be all good and just need time to sort things out and come back together.

So here we areI hope you can keep your word always, or you’re in for a world of pain, years of it, and you will have no one to blame but yourself and your second Mate. I’ll never get hit with pains of betrayal in return, because that would see Christy be hit with them as well, and we both know you’re not about to make your precious Christy feel that, just to pay me back. She smiled a little on the nasty side at him now.

If you reject me over you not tending to my heat and another is used to stop my suffering, who’s the asshole? Who’s responsible? And who will once again be seen as only wanting to be with his precious Christy? She smiled at him. Reject at will. She stated, Your mate of 22 years who you betrayed.

He was sitting all the way up now, just staring at her, and she knew he had no idea how to deal with her anymore. She nodded slowly, and snorted softly, I’m not the same person anymore, am I, Anthony! The soft, gentle Luna who always gave you what you wanted, smiled happily at you all the time. She’s gone, you hurt her, her wolf, and still had the audacity to confine us after all the harm and seeing how we’d changedto the will of the Goddess.

Well, now you’ll have that, and all the pains of betrayal to go with it if you ever leave my heat unattended again. You forgot somewhere along the way, that the gentle, loving and devoted woman at your sidewas also a shewolf, and shewolves are vicious when defending themselves. She turned her eyes back to her book.

It’s my day off, and your day with Christy, go do that.she dismissed him as she opened that book to the page she’d been on. He got up and walked away, and a smirk touched her face and a silent laugh rolled through her body. It was time to play hardball.

He’d thought coming here and acknowledging he’d actually truly harmed her and there were real ramifications to what he’d opted to do, that apologizing for it and actually meaning it, which she actually did think that now he understood what he’d done, she would see her way to start forgiving himHe was dead wrong her heart was more than cold now, it was frozen like the winter snow.

She was settled into her suite later that night, after getting a simple message from Nicholas, What did you sayI got not only a formal apology for his anger but for him being jealous of our friendship? The alliance standsbecause you want it to, not him.

She’d sent back, Thank you and what he needed to hear, nothing more.

Anthony had not come near her at all for the rest of the day, not so much as mindlinked to her or anything. He she knew had a lot to think about where she was concerned. The gloves were off now, and she’d not pulled her punches, she’d hit him hard and where it hurt the most.

She turned at the sound of her doorbell ringing several times in a row and felt it was Paul out there in the corridor. She got up and opened it, and he stepped in and closed the door himself. You unleashed all hell on Anthony finally I see,he stated.

Hmm, I did.” She nodded as she walked over to sit down on her couch. He, I think needed it. To know the real fallout of his own actions for myself and Laud. She’s also in agreement that another will be allowed to mate us through our heat.” She informed her Gamma, who just

nodded at her as if he understood.

Not just how it affected the mate bond.” She stated and stopped at her own words, the mate bond. Not our mate bond. That was new to her, she’d have to remember to document

that.

What brings you here to my suite, Paul?she asked curiously now, Rang that bell like you were either really excited or furious. It’s also after hours. Shouldn’t you be with Carol? She is due to go into heat any day now.”

Yes, the day after tomorrow,” he nodded. You missed the fireworks. He chuckled and waved a USB at her. You go make popcorn, I’ll set it up on the big screen, Anthony lost his shit and Christy got more than yelled at.

Mischa frowned. “I’m not making popcorn, and they argued about what exactly?she asked.

You, of course, how what she did has torn you two apart, and he doesn’t know if it can be fixed at all,” Paul told her. Kendrick, Dereck and I just sat and watched the show. It was pretty good, I tell ya. Christy made the mistake of walking into his office when he was trying to deal with what you unleashed upon him.

Ranted about you claiming you were going to sick the Elders on her if she set foot inside the Luna’s office. Something about you stating you were the only reigning Luna, and she was now nothing inside this pack; had no right to be in the Luna’s office.” He shook his head, Which I believe is actually what the Elders stated, she couldn’t be a Luna until she’d attended and passed her Luna Lessons.

Hmm, I’m aware of what they said. It’s also not a lie; I did do what she said.Mischa smiled, but it was good to see that Christy still didn’t disappoint and took it right to Anthony to complain about Mischa like she always did.

Played the victim card, only it wasn’t Mischa that had made that decision it was the Elders.

She lay the blame on the wrong person. Mischa technically could be seen as stopping her from being punished if she walked into that Luna’s office. She didn’t think that one through.Mischa snorted.

Paul chuckled No, she did not. You stated words that were a fact, only she’s likely not even read the file on all that was said about that investigationI know Anthony did, sat down the day after he got off the shaming post and read the whole thing.”

I don’t think I need to see them arguing, Paul,” she stated.

Yeah, you do, it got very loud and aggressive in that office. Kendrick mindlinked to me about popcorn and soda while we sat and watched. I had to hold in the laughter on it myself,Paul chuckled. He plugged that USB into her TV and loaded it for her to sit and watch.

It was pretty much exactly what Paul stated, Christy walking into Anthony’s office and telling him how much Mischa had disrespected her and refused to let her go into the Luna’s office. Only this time Anthony didn’t pander to Christy’s words. He rounded on her about her trying to sew discord between himself and Mischa.

I’m struggling with Mischa now, you have no idea what she’s going through, and I am desperately trying to keep her here as my Luna. You’ve not once shown any concern for what she had to go through because I stayed with you,” Anthony snapped. As my Mate, you should be concerned about my bond with her as well.”

She hates me, Anthony, and is trying to get rid of me. She has already pushed me out of my office and then out of the Alpha suite. It’s all her.Christy had snapped right back.

Out of the Alpha Suite, it’s not your fucking suite, never was. It was Mischa’s, and she won’t bloody return to it because you’ve managed to talk or weasel your way into it. On how many occasions now, when you have your own suite, don’t fucking go there you can’t win that ever! It’s not your suite, never was, so she never pushed you out of it. You should never have been in it in the first place, correct?he asked angrily.

To which Christy stood staring at him incredulously and then just decided not to answer his question, ignoring the obvious he was pointing out. Mischa told me she was the only reigning Luna inside this pack today, that I was nothing to this pack, in full view of the pack members out in the foyer.Christy yelled right back.

Don’t fucking lie to me,” Anthony yelled, pointing a finger at her, Mischa would never do that,

it’s not who she is.

I’m not fucking lying, check the cameras. It’ll prove she did. It was right after she came out of Luna’s office after arguing with you. Something we never do, and now here we are yelling at each other because of Mischa.Christy had shot right back.

I don’t bloody need to,” Anthony snarled at her. She’s never once tried to come between us in two and a bit years, not fucking once. Has told me more than once to just reject her, so it’s just you and I. Told me today to do it, 22 years we’ve been together, and now she wants me to reject her after everything that happened. She was harmed not just physically but

emotionally by that heat.

Well, so was I.Christy grated out and turned to leave his office. You don’t care that I was, I

see.

Anthony shot across the room and grabbed onto her, pulled her around to face him. I don’t fucking care, I nearly had Mischa’s head come off because I was guiltridden about your injuries and couldn’t bloody see straight.

It was also your doing, your injuries and pain? You begged me not to leave you so don’t give me that bullshit. You’re also responsible for my not tending to Mischa’s heat, and now she’s suffering more than you can possibly understand, has from my own understanding of it, what can only be described as PTSD about her upcoming heat.”

Bullshit, she lies to you.Christy bit out angrily. It was just a few bouts of pain; I had it worse than she did.Christy snapped and tried to yank herself from his grip.

It’s not fucking bullshit,” Anthony snarled at her, and she watched him haul Christy back across the office and then shove papers into her hands and Christy looked down at them. Then, after a few minutes, she started to laugh, before she realized where she was and cut

herself off.

She got to see Anthony’s whole demeanor change and a low, menacing snarl came from him. Christy looked up at him at the sound and backed away from him. It hadn’t been quick enough and his hand had snapped around her throat, and she’d been lifted off the ground in full, her face yanked right to his.

Shade?she asked Paul.

Yes, and very pissed off at that,Paul nodded.
