The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 93

CH 93
Her appointment was for 6pm, and so she and Brent walked about the building and got coffee from one of the café’s and then booked in for dinner later after her appointment. Everything was open late due to the extra people inside the pack for the conference.
Then Brent offered to walk her over to Dana’s office. He knew where it was; had been there before he’d told her. She collected the medical files and all the relevant documentation she’d packed. It was quite a large file now.
She’d brought her diary with her for documentation of things here, but had photocopied the pages she was happy to share with Dana or a research team, pretty much every thought or interaction with Anthony since he’d abandoned her to her heat.
She would hold nothing back at all, and those pages she’d leave with Dana as well, in case more research was going to be done. She would help where she could. Brent walked her from this building to the one in front of it, and up to the first floor, “This is where the labs and research is done, and all offices are. The ground floor is the mental health and wellbeing center. It’s off limits to all. Only those qualified to work there or family visiting those staying there, are allowed.”
They walked along the corridor and passed many labs with large glass windows, either fully lit up with people in there working. Or they were closed and the lights were out. Brent stopped and pressed an intercom button on the wall next to a door, and she could see into the lab here. It was lit up but there didn’t appear to be anyone in there. Though she could see two
doors inside that room as well, that led to other labs she supposed.
“Hello.” Came a female voice.
“Hello, it’s Dr. Brent from Night Whispers, escorting my pack’s Luna, Mischa, for her appointment with Dr. Dana Reed.” He spoke to the woman.
“Oh, Brent, I’ve lost track of time, it’s Dana. Could you give me a few minutes to move from my lab to my office? Walk on over to the next door down the corridor. I’ll be there in a few minutes. I have to go through a clean room process to exit my lab.”
“No problem. Take your time.” Brent smiled, and they walked down the hall to the next door. It was white and plain looking, had Dr. Dana Reed and then a list of her titles: geneticist, medical researcher, pathologist, obstetrics and gynecologist, cardiac, general, & orthopedic surgeon, psychologist, psychiatrist.
That was a lot of degrees under her belt, and she wondered just how old Dana was, because she also knew this she-wolf had otherworldly titles as well, though they weren’t listed there

and Mischa thought that was because it was likely human doctors or researchers came up
here at times as well.
The door opened several minutes later to a dark-haired she-wolf wearing a white medical coat. She had dark brown eyes and looked to be maybe all of 30 years old. She was dressed nicely in a soft blue blouse and navy slacks, and she smiled at Brent and then Mischa, “It’s good to see again, Brent.”
“Always a pleasure, Dana, though today could be under better circumstances, to be honest, this is one of my pack’s Lunas, Mischa.”
She watched Dana raise an eyebrow, “One of?” she asked as she looked to Mischa. “You’re in a three-way mate bond yourself?” and her eyes moved to Mischa’s neck to check her filigree.
“Mm, I am, he has two mates. I only have one,” Mischa told her.
Dana nodded “Well, Mischa, it’s good to put a face to the name. Your own bond, how is it?”
“Hmm, I guess… uncomfortable at the best of times is the way to put it.” Mischa replied.
Dana motioned for her to come into her office and Brent smiled. “I’ll leave you two to it, just dropping her to your office, Mischa, I’ll wait downstairs for you, take your time, I’ll call Kathy.”
She walked into Dana’s office, the walls were lined with medical textbooks and her degrees were all up on the walls. It actually looked like a medical doctor’s office, not just an office, and she supposed some came here for tests or follow-ups.
Mischa sat down where she was waved to by Dana as she walked around her desk and sat down in her seat. “I don’t see any blood samples and Brent didn’t hand any over?” Dana
commented.
“I thought I’d have you take it yourself, save Brent having to store it and transport it here to you. Probably also better to get it right from the source yourself, I imagine,” Mischa stated.
She saw Dana sigh softly. “So, in other words, all the communication about that she-wolf with you, was you answering my questions because you’re the one that suffered through your heat alone.”
“Mm,” Mischa nodded. “It was me. My Alpha Mate chose his other Mate over me, even though I went into heat first, abandoned me willingly, we now know with certainty, for three days of my four day heat.”
Dana frowned at her now, “May I inquire as to who is his first Mate and who is his Second Mate or did you all scent each other out at the same time?”
“You may ask me any questions that you think are pertinent, and I will answer them. Will not

take offense to anything or deny you any information if I have it. I am his first mate. I have been mated to him for 22 and a half years now. His second Mate, Christy, came along two
and a half years ago now.
“He claimed her without discussing it with me, and she and I don’t get along, because Christy wants me gone and to have our Alpha Mate and likely the pack all to herself.”
“Two and a half years, you say, and after two years of separate heats, now it lines up to be at the same time? That is odd,” Dana frowned.
“Not really, you’ll see why soon enough,” Mischa stated simply.
“Alright, you’re the one with two heats a year, correct, and she only has one yes?” Dana asked.
“Yes,” Mischa held that file she was carrying out for Dana to take. “There is something you need to know. Christy has managed to eclipse me in just about every possible way. I believe she overlays her scent on top of mine at every turn, and he’s pretty much forgotten I exist, unless I’m standing right in front of him, that is, or he needs me to do something pack
related.”
Dana raised an eyebrow. “That is not a good thing and odd to say the least, I can see why you two don’t get along.”
“Oh, there’s more. In that envelope is Christy’s bloodwork taken after her sudden and unexpected heat which lasted nine days and had aggressive and excessive bouts all the way through it. She begged him to stay with her the entire time because her heat was too painful not much break between bouts.”
“Right.” Dana frowned deeply. “Let me see the bloodwork before I hazard a guess as to what I think happened. Do you have a theory, Mischa?” Dana asked as she opened that file and sorted through it to the bloodwork.
“Yes, likely exactly what you’re thinking right now,” Mischa stated, “Because I investigated the matter at hand. Other not so nice things came from this incident as well, which she tried to blame me for. That unexpected heat.”
Dana’s eyes moved to her now. “That would be a death sentence in most packs, harming a Luna like that.”
“Yes, and I had to prove my innocence, which I did, by the way, and with ease, I’ve added some of that investigation to the file there, her words to our Mate after he took her to the hospital, the actual footage of it for you as well. Just so you get a full, accurate picture of how it is going to be inside my pack come two weeks and I go into heat once more.”
“I see,” was all Dana stated as she returned her eyes to the bloodwork.

Mischa watched as she brought something up on her computer and then seemed to compare a few things to what was in her hand. “I dare say, Mischa, you hit the nail on the head with your assessment of the situation. You suspect she self-induced her own heat, and I can tell you now that is exactly what the pheromone markers show. Not any old pheromones, but she used her own on herself.” Dana shook her head. “Did she not know the ramifications of doing that, or did she do it knowing what the ramifications were? In order to be able to convince your Mate to stay with her the entire time due to the severity of it?”
“I don’t think she understood the ramifications of what she did. She’s 20 and has no
education, doesn’t want one either, just wants to be a Luna, though even that, she dodged all the lessons and faked her way through it, well did until she was caught out and is now being forced to attend them with an Elder.” Mischa snorted “Irks her. So, from everything I’ve seen, she found a way to induce her heat but didn’t do all the research, just found a way to do it without anyone knowing she did it and there’s only one way to do that.”
“To use her own,” Dana agreed with her. “Your thoughts, Mischa, on why she did this? Just to eclipse you, that’s a bit much.”
“It wasn’t that. I believe Christy induced her heat because Anthony was wanting to have a pup with me. I’m on wolfen birth control, always have been. Christy did not know this little fact about me, hence the inducing of a heat when it was a completely unnecessary thing to do.
“Desperate to birth the heir to the pack, Already gone into her natural heat it was back in February. Just three months after her self-induced heat in November. We are calling it that?
Yes!”
“Yes,” Dana nodded. “Something like that can’t escape me, and your next heat is due in a
matter of weeks.”
“It is, I also believe Christy is going to do this again, induce her heat. In fact, I think she’s going to do it each and every time I go into heat. She doesn’t much like being known as Anthony’s second Mate and Luna. So wants the title of mother of the heir to the pack. Which will see her surpass me and become more important.”
“I see where this is going,” Dana shook her head. “Some she-wolves are just plain selfish. There’s no photo of her here. But she’s actively harming her own Mate in a roundabout way. Do you have a photo of her?”
Mischa nodded. She knew what Dana was thinking. “Give me a second,” she pulled her phone out and accessed the pack’s social media page and clicked into Christy’s account and shook her head. It wasn’t something she did; actually open Christy’s account, but her photo for it was her in her Luna’s gown. Where she looked young and healthy.
She handed it over to Dana. “Compare her Luna Ceremony to the next picture below she

“She’s aged a lot in two and a bit years,” Dana murmured and handed the phone back. “Has yet to realize it’s her own doing, I’m guessing. You look younger than she does.”
Mischa smiled and nodded.
