Chapter 137 The Tail
Sean wondered if he was a martial cultivator.
As supervisor of the Dragon Sea Chamber of Commerce’s Mound City branch, he had nothing to lear from ordinary martial cultivators. But there was no point in making an enemy unnecessarily.
All eyes in the room were fixed on Sean and the masked man.
Stefan watched them both closely. He’d deliberately put a single Meridian Opening Elixir up for auction as bait, to see what fish would bite.
Just then, he felt a soft pressure against his right arm. Megan leaned in, her voice low. The man sitting with Leroy from the Tiger Head Society is Sean, supervisor of the Dragon Sea Chamber of Commerce’s Mound City branch.”
Stefan’s eyes narrowed.
Dragon Sea Chamber of Commerce?
And the masked man in the back-could he be from the Veilscale Society?
“One billion two hundred million dollars-going once, going twice… sold!”
Hazel’s gavel came down. “Congratulations, sir, on winning our final lot-the Meridian Opening Elixir! And with that, tonight’s auction comes to a close. Thank you all for coming, and congratulations to everyone who found what they were looking for.”
Hazel smiled as she wrapped up.
All of Stefan’s elixirs had sold out: total auction value over three point four billion dollars. After commission, he’d walk away with around three billion dollars.
Alchemy, it turned out, paid very well.
The auction over, attendees began filing out.
Winning bidders had to settle their accounts on the spot. Once payment was confirmed, the staff would deliver their items.
Stefan had won the little bronze burner, but he didn’t need to settle here. Nina was taking him backstage to see Bjorn directly.
Nina’s voice bubbled with excitement.
“Come on, let’s find Mr. Locke and pick up our winnings. I can’t wait to see that Phoenix Blood Grass
Keeping Elixirs.”
And so Stefan found himself sandwiched between two equally stunning women, chatting and laugnung as they walked. Heads turned. Envious eyes followed them.
