Chapter 141 Desperate Measures
Several of the girls chimed in, clearly interested.
It wasn’t just blind flirting. Stefan had that rugged charm the kind that hit hard. And after years in this business, these girls had developed sharp instincts. They could tell which dients had real game and which were just pretending.
Stefan grinned. “Alright, alright-you heard them. Every single one of you is coming with me later.”
Then he pulled Gavin aside. “So, you stayed in Vantoth for love, said you’d grow old with Winifred. Now you’re back in River City. Where is she?”
Gavin’s girlfriend, Winifred Fenrir-Stefan knew her too. They’d moved to Vantoth together after college.
“Don’t ask. A year ago, she ran off with some rich kid.”
Gavin laughed bitterly and knocked back a long drink. “I was crushed. I came back here. But I’ve made my peace with it now. No regrets. Just looking out for myself-having fun. That’s all that matters.”
Stefan’s expression softened. He patted Gavin’s shoulder. “Good. You’re thinking straight. From now on-don’t let a good woman slip away, but don’t waste yourself on a bad one either.”
“Damn.” Gavin stared at him. “Bro, that last part? Pure gold. Exactly what I needed to hear. Drink to that.”
He filled both their glasses.
They raised their glasses-then the door slammed open.
Gavin’s face darkened. He put down his glass. “Who the hell-”
Then he froze.
A stunning woman filled the doorway.
A woman dressed in a white professional outfit, exquisitely beautiful and sexy, with a flawless face and a pure temperament. The well-tailored professional attire accentuates her graceful and alluring curves, exuding utmost sensuality.
It was Margery.
Before Stefan went to prison, Gavin had met her once-when he visited River City, Stefan brought her along to dinner.
Now, watching her sweep through the door like an ice queen, Gavin panicked. His eyes darted between her and Stefan.
He didn’t know they’d broken up.
Brain short-circuiting for a second, he jumped up. Time to take one for the team.
