Stefan’s eyes narrowed. “So who is this Damian?”

“He’s with Aether Spire Society, the biggest outfit in Marevia. They’re mainly based in Mound City, and they don’t mess with othe territories-except for one thing.” Korbin paused. “If they want to set up shop in another city, the local crews have to back off. No! interference.”

Stefan got it. “So Damian’s here running the casino for Aether Spire Society, and the local gangs just hand over the gambling business to him?”

Korbin nodded. “Pretty much. Plus, Damian’s connected to Lionel, one of the four Great Grandmasters of River City. From what I hear, he’s Lionel’s nephew. With that kind of connection, nobody in River City dares touch him.”

Stefan stood up, his voice calm. “Let’s go. Take me to his casino. I want to meet River City’s underground gambling king.”
