The two flirt right in front of me, acting like I’m not even here. Who do they think they’re disrespecting?
He’d had enough.
“You’re Stefan?” Theodore snapped. “Some ex–con playing hero? I’ll turn your rescue into a funeral.”
Stefan shifted his gaze to Theodore. “Did I just hear a dog bark?”
He frowned, looking Theodore up and down. “Nice suit, but that was you making all that noise right?”
“You’ve got a lot of nerve,” Theodore said, his voice icy as he stared Stefan down. “You think you’re tough? Think you can take her from me? I’ve planned this for years–today’s the day. Anyone who gets in my way dies.”
“Planning for years?” Stefan
laughed, as if he’d heard a joke. “Ever heard of brute force? All your plans mean nothing against real power. My fists are all I need to smash your plan.”
“So you think you can fight?” Theodore’s eyes flared with rage.
He waved a hand sharply. “Let’s see how tough you are. Get him–kill him.”
Umar Craig stepped forward. A brutal scar cut across his face, and a heavy, bloody aura rolled off him. This man had killed before.
Six more men in black closed in on Stefan from all sides.
Stefan didn’t flinch. He turned to Nina and asked, “Ever been in a real fight?”
Nina froze. She’d trained to Level 9 Hidden Sect Realm, but she’d never fought for real.
Fighting wasn’t something she ever had to do.
Nina flushed, embarrassed. “I… I sparred with Janet…”
“No problem–practice on them. I’ve got your back,” Stefan smiled and tapped a spot on Nina’s back, unlocking her sealed pressure points.
Theodore had locked her key points when he took her, so she couldn’t use her energy or her fighting skills.
