The bodies lay scattered across the yard–they would be found immediately if left there.
“Don’t worry. I’ve got this,” Stefan said, pulling out Corpse Dissolving Powder.

Stefan drove away with Nina.
“Stefan, I was gonna introduce you in a big way at the bidding event today… and then all this happened,” Nina said, sounding frustrated.
She’d planned and hyped everything for a long time, building up everyone’s expectations. But it all fell apart when Theodore kidnapped her.
Stefan chuckled, “I thought it was something serious. It’s fine. All that matters is you’re safe.”
Nina’s eyes lit up. She smiled, leaned toward him, and stared into his eyes. “Am I really that important to you?”
Stefan glanced over out of the corner of his eye. The way Nina leaned over gave him a clear view of her curves–a stunning sight that nearly distracted him.
“Quit it. I’m driving,” Stefan said quickly.
We’re on the highway–she doesn’t want us to crash.
Nina laughed at his flustered look.
Her laugh was sweet and smooth, making his chest feel warm.
Nina stopped teasing. She pulled out her phone and called Janet, told her she was safe, and listened to Janet’s update on the bidding event.
Stefan pulled up to the Soaring Manor.
As the car drove in, he saw Janet waiting, her face tight with worry.
She ran over and opened the door as soon as the car stopped.
“Ms. Reed…” Janet breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Nina was unhurt.
