The Ex-Con Who Conquered the World novel Chapter 7

Outside the room, with every passing second, the expressions on the faces of the Stewart family members varied.

"I wonder how Sara is doing now. I hope Stefan can wake her up. Heaven bless us, heaven bless us..."

Audrey murmured to herself, praying silently.

Chuck paced back and forth, glancing repeatedly at the tightly shut door. Several times he had the urge to push it open and see what was happening inside, but he forced himself to hold back.

Supported by Celeste, Hank, who had been thrown out by Stefan, was now back on his feet. His face alternated between pale and flushed, the fury within him reaching its peak.

To be publicly thrown out as a young master of the Stewart family—humiliated and disgraced—was unimaginably enraging.

"Stefan just got out of prison. What medical skills could he possibly have? Right now, he's alone in a room with an unconscious Sara. If he wanted to do something, he could easily force the situation... What a clever plan."

Hank sneered with a venomous tone.

At his words, Chuck suddenly stopped pacing. His face immediately darkened, and without another thought, he rushed to the door and pushed it open.

The scene that met his eyes was rather shocking.

Stefan was seen supporting Sara in a sitting position, but since she was still unconscious, her entire back rested against his chest. Moreover, the strap of her dress on her right shoulder had slipped down, revealing a smooth shoulder.

An energy needle was faintly taking shape just as the door was pushed open.

Stefan turned his head, and the nearly formed energy needle dissipated instantly.

"You b*stard! What are you doing to my daughter?!"

Seeing this, Chuck was so furious he nearly saw stars. He roared and charged into the room.

Stefan frowned slightly and replied calmly, "Treating her, of course. To be precise, detoxifying her."

It turned out Stefan had already neutralized most of the cold-toxic energy within Sara's body, but a slight residue remained at the acupoint at the back of her head.

To perform the acupuncture there, Stefan had to help Sara sit up. As for the strap on her right shoulder slipping down—heaven was his witness, that happened on its own.

Who knew Chuck would barge in at that very moment?

"Treating her? Is this how you treat a patient?"

Driven by paternal protectiveness, Chuck glared at Stefan with murderous eyes, gritting his teeth as he demanded, "Tell me honestly, what exactly were you doing to my daughter?"

"Calm down. Don't jump to conclusions before understanding the situation. This concerns not only Stefan's reputation but also our daughter's dignity."

Audrey shot Chuck a reproachful look, then stepped forward to examine Sara carefully. She found nothing unusual.

"The facts are right in front of us! This beast was trying to take advantage of Sara while she was unconscious. If we had come in any later, who knows what might have happened?"

Chuck's voice was filled with anger. The thought that Stefan might have intended to violate his unconscious daughter made his blood boil. He continued, "I told you before—someone who's been in prison can't be any good."

Audrey had already helped Sara lie back down and covered her with the thin blanket.

Stefan stood up, not bothering to explain further. Some things only become murkier the more you try to clarify them.

Besides, from an outsider's perspective, the situation did indeed look questionable.

"Hah, so I was right after all!"

Hank let out a vicious laugh, his face twisted with malice. He sneered, "I said this guy had no real skills. He deliberately sent everyone away so he could try something shady. Once the deed was done, he'd suddenly become the Stewart family's son-in-law..."

"It seems you're not just physically ill; your mind is sick too." Stefan glanced at Hank and shook his head. Even with his medical skills, he felt this person was beyond cure.
