“Congratulations, brother,” Gabriel’s voice came through the phone, warm and calm. “I heard your wedding is next week.”
Carl stopped pacing for a second, then continued walking slowly across the large office. The floor-to-ceiling windows showed the city outside, but his mind was far from the view. Too much had happened in the past two weeks, and work had suddenly become heavy on his shoulders.
“Yes,” Carl replied, running a hand through his hair. “But we have a bigger problem right now. Father is dealing with too many things, and he can’t help much.”
Gabriel sensed the tension in his brother’s voice. “What is the problem?” he asked.
“Money is missing,” Carl said honestly. “Someone is stealing from the company. The good thing is that the account that was compromised has been blocked.”
Carl stopped pacing and leaned against the desk. His free hand swept his hair backward again. He felt lost. Office work was not his world. He was an actor, a man who lived in front of cameras, scripts, and lights. Numbers, files, and security reports drained him.
“Which account?” Gabriel asked. His voice was calm and controlled, giving nothing away.”The Wyndham third-party account,” Carl answered.
There was a short pause on the line.
“Alright,” Gabriel finally said. “I will look into it. It was long overdue for us to change our cyber security system.
We can’t afford to lose customers’ data. If that happens, the company could shut down.”
Carl sighed in relief. “Thank you.”
“I will go to the Nether-Kingdom immediately,” Gabriel added.
. “This is an emergency.”
“Alright, brother,” Carl said. “Take care of yourself. I honestly don’t know how you survived in this office before.”
Carl let out a short laugh, but it carried stress.
Gabriel chuckled softly. “Don’t worry. Once everything is settled, I will handle things properly. Just don’t touch what you don’t understand.”
“I get it,” Carl replied quickly. “Take care of yourself.”
“You too,” Gabriel said, and the call ended.
Gabriel did not waste time. He dialed another number immediately.
“Get me the best security company,” he said firmly. “As soon as possible. And once that is done, get the jet ready.”He hung up and leaned back slightly, releasing a slow breath.
Company security was not something to joke with. If someone could break through their current system, then it meant the company was already exposed. It was a warning. A dangerous one.
His thoughts were suddenly interrupted.
“Don’t tell me you’re leaving me here?”
Isla’s soft voice broke through his mind.
Gabriel turned around.
She stood by the bedroom door, looking at him. She was wearing a pink, loose round-neck shirt that reached her mid-thigh. Her baby bump pushed gently against the fabric, noticeable now, beautiful and real.
His expression softened immediately.
His eyes slowly traveled from her face to her belly, then down to her bare legs. A small smile touched his lips.
