The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 397

Mr. Lynch shook his head. “I’m fine, really.”

He barely got the words out before his legs buckled again, and he slid down toward the floor.

“Sir!” The butler rushed to steady him.

Ella stood up and crossed the room. She reached out, gently supporting Mr. Lynch. “Alberto, there’s no reason to be so nervous.”

Mr. Lynch stared at her, completely stunned. In his wildest dreams, he never imagined that Doctor E—the legendary medical genius—would turn out to be such a young lady. And not just any lady, but his own nephew’s wife. It was unreal.

He blinked at Ella, searching her face. “You’re really my mentor?”

Ella nodded. “Yep. Is this all a bit much because I’m not playing my part right? Maybe I shouldn’t call you Alberto. Should I be more formal and say... Mr. Lynch?”

Mr. Lynch was at a complete loss for words.

Now he was sure. Absolutely sure. Ella was Doctor E. She was his mentor.

“Ella, I... I never expected it to be you. I mean, I didn’t realize…” He trailed off, feeling like all the family roles had gotten scrambled. He had no idea how he was supposed to address her anymore.

Ella smiled, her lips curving up in amusement. “No need to be so formal. We’re both in this field together. Just call me Ella.”

Mr. Lynch still looked like he couldn’t quite believe it. “Was it really you who removed Lilly’s birthmark?”

Ella nodded. “Yes, I did that.”

Suddenly, everything made sense to Mr. Lynch. All the mysteries that had bothered him before were now crystal clear. No wonder Lilly’s birthmark was gone. No wonder Ella could nap during his lectures and still catch mistakes nobody else noticed. None of this was something an ordinary person could pull off. Unless, of course, Ella was anything but ordinary.

So, Ella really was Doctor E!

Mr. Lynch was bursting with emotion. He felt grateful, excited, and honestly, he admired Ella more than ever.

“I spent so many years studying that birthmark on Lilly’s face, but I never found a way to make it disappear.”

David stepped in front of Ella, blocking her way. “Hold on, you’re not leaving yet. I still need to talk to you.”

Before Ella could say anything, Mr. Lynch scolded him. “David, show some respect. Who do you think you are, raising your voice at... at Ella in front of everyone?”

David looked at his uncle like he was seeing things. “Are you feeling okay? Did someone put a spell on you or something?”

Mr. Lynch ignored him, turning to Ella with a big, apologetic smile. “Ella, please don’t mind my nephew. You’re free to go. I’ll have the driver take you both home.”

David was left gaping.

Ella glanced at David, who looked completely defeated, and walked out with Lilly.

As they left, Lilly turned back and made a silly face at David, as if to say, “Serves you right.”

David just stood there with his hands on his hips and let out a helpless laugh. What on earth was going on today?
