The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 450

"I'm fine," she said, forcing a smile. "The baby and I are both alright."

There was no way she’d let anything happen to her child. The kidnapping had only shaken her up a little, nothing more.

Wyatt studied her, worry etched on his face. "Ella, you're pregnant with David's baby. Are you seriously not going to tell him?"

Ella let out a small, bitter laugh. "You saw it yourself, didn’t you? When it came down to me or Jessa, David didn’t even hesitate. He chose Jessa. What would telling him change? It's better if he never knows. I can raise this baby on my own."

Wyatt sighed. He could see how much David’s choice had hurt her, even though she tried so hard not to show it.

Just then, Fiona and Lilly burst into the room. They rushed over, hands instinctively reaching toward Ella’s belly.

"Ella, how’s the baby? Are you okay? Is everything alright?" Fiona asked, her voice trembling a little.

Ella managed a genuine smile. "We’re both fine, really."

Fiona scowled, her anger flaring. "That jerk! Has he lost his mind? He left you and your baby behind for Jessa. Seriously, when your baby’s born, just ignore him. Let him be stuck with Jessa and see how he likes it."

Lilly crossed her arms, her brow furrowed. "He went way too far this time. I swear, I’m calling him right now to tell him off."

Ella quickly reached for Lilly’s hand to stop her. "Lilly, Fiona, please don’t. It’s not worth it. I’m just not the one he cares about. If you call and yell at him, it’ll only embarrass me more."

Fiona and Lilly exchanged a look, then dropped it.

"Fine," Fiona said, "forget about that loser. Who needs him anyway? This baby’s got two godmothers who’ll spoil them rotten."

Ella nodded, stroking her still-flat stomach with a soft smile. "Exactly. We don’t need a dad like that."

With her friends by her side, Ella felt lighter. Maybe that was the magic of having people who actually cared.

Wyatt hesitated, then asked, "Ella, Mr. Harmon’s been looking everywhere for you. Do you want me to—"

"No way," Fiona interrupted before Ella could answer. "What’s the point of him looking for her now? Where was he when she needed him?"

Lilly agreed. "Exactly. Just ignore him. Let him run around searching all he wants."

Meanwhile, David walked into the hospital room. Jessa clung to him, whining about how much her heart hurt, refusing to let him leave her side.

Aiden stepped in quietly and spoke in a low voice. "Sir, we still haven’t found Ms. Irvine. There’s been no sign of her anywhere."

David’s brow furrowed deeply as he stared out the window, worry gnawing at him. Where could Ella have gone?
