The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 473

“Are you planning to sleep with him tonight?” David’s voice was calm, but his words landed like a stone.

Ella’s lashes fluttered. She shot him a look. “Are you and Jessa going to sleep together?”

He didn’t answer. Instead, he kept his eyes on the road, his fingers drumming against the steering wheel. His jacket was off, and the white shirt hugged his arms, the business vest neat and tailored. The steel watch on his wrist caught the light, elegant and cold, just like him.

“We’re divorced now. My life is none of your business, so maybe stop prying.”

Suddenly, tires screeched. David jerked the wheel, pulling the car over so fast that Ella’s heart skipped a beat.

She stared at him. “What are you doing…?” Her words cut off as David leaned over, hands warm on her cheeks, and pressed his lips to hers.

The kiss was sudden and rough. Ella froze, her whole body tense. She shoved at his firm chest, struggling to break free. “Let go of me!”

He pulled away just enough that their faces were still close, their breathing mixed in the small space. His eyes didn’t leave hers. “Do you like Wyatt?”

“Of course I do.”

“Do you love him the way you love me?”

Her words caught in her throat.

David’s lips curled in a half-smile. “Ella, you’re brilliant. You’re Doctor E. You married me when I was in a coma. Just how much did you love me, that even when I was barely alive, you still wanted me?”

He was curious, but to Ella, it felt like he was looking down on her, all arrogance and pride.

She’d always said Jessa could be fearless in love because she knew she was loved. But wasn’t David the same?

Ella held his gaze. “I don’t love you anymore.”

Her hands wandered down his chest, soft and light, but every touch stoked the fire between them. David’s breath hitched, his face pressed into her hair.

Ella’s voice was low and teasing. “David, do you love me?”

David froze.

She smiled, lips red and a little smug. “Have you fallen for me? Because your body seems pretty into it when I touch you.”

She threw his words right back at him.

David bit the inside of his cheek, a laugh caught in his throat.

Ella’s eyes sparkled. “Well? What’s so funny? You still haven’t answered. Do you love me or not?”
