The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 505

“Mr. Harmon,” Rachel said, “when Jessa’s heart isn’t feeling right, she just gets really clingy. Can you stay with her, just for a little while?”

David pressed his lips together. Somehow, being in the hospital made his anxiety even worse. The uneasy feeling in his chest kept growing.

He reached for his phone, only to find his pocket empty. That’s when he remembered—he had rushed Jessa to the hospital but forgot to grab his phone before leaving.

David looked at Jessa and spoke gently. “Jessa, your mom can stay with you tonight. I still have some files to go over. I’ll come back first thing in the morning.”

“No!” Jessa threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around his waist. “I don’t want my mom. I want you, David. Please stay with me.”

David tried to gently push her away.

Suddenly, a cold voice cut through the room. “How dare you!”

David turned and saw Grandma Chelsea standing in the doorway.

His heart skipped a beat. He hadn’t expected to see his grandmother here. “Grandma? What are you doing here?”

Jessa and Rachel froze. “Grandma Chelsea...”

Grandma Chelsea glared at David and Jessa, her anger obvious. She stormed in and raised her cane, hitting David hard. “So it’s true. You’re really here with this shameless girl!”

David didn’t even try to dodge. The cane landed on him with a heavy thud.

She hit him again. And then again. Rachel and Jessa stared in shock.

The blow was harsh. Jessa cried out in pain, “Ow! Mrs. Chelsea, why are you hitting me? Please, stop!”

Grandma Chelsea wasn’t listening. She swung the cane again and again, shouting, “You little bitch! Raised without any manners. Ella is your sister, and you still tried to take her husband—shameles! You keep whining about your heart, always clinging to David, but you’re still healthy and alive. You are just a liar! The whole Irvine family is rotten, always scheming against Ella. Today I’m going to make you pay!”

Jessa’s face went pale from the pain. “It hurts! Please stop! David, help me!”

David tried to get to her, but Aiden held him back. “Sir, you need to take care of yourself right now. You’re in no shape to help anyone.”

David fell silent.

Rachel’s heart broke as she watched her daughter being hit. She flung herself over Jessa, pulling her into her arms to shield her. “Why are you doing this? Please stop!”
