Lilly stared at the Irvine family, their faces drained of color, then pointed straight at Jessa. “Mr. Harmon, Jessa is a liar!”
Fiona jumped in right away. “Mr. Harmon, the first thing you should do is deal with Jessa.”
David let go of Ella, turning to face Jessa. His eyes were bloodshot, his gaze locked on her.
Jessa looked terrified, her skin almost white. “David, please... you have to listen to me...”
David’s voice was cold and sharp. “Alright. I’ll give you one chance. Tell me everything. Why did you pretend to be Ella? Why did you steal her pendant? Why did you lie to me all this time? You have this one opportunity. If I don’t like what I hear, your whole family will pay for it.”
Every member of the Irvine family was there, and you could see the fear wash over them in an instant.
Grandma Jill’s legs gave out, and she almost collapsed.
The Irvine family couldn’t go down with Jessa.
They couldn’t!
Jessa rushed forward and grabbed David’s sleeve. “David, I’m sorry. I did pretend to be Ella, but it was only because I love you. I love you so much. That’s the only reason I—”
Before she could finish, David pushed her away, hard. “Your love for me means nothing!”
Jessa lost her balance and fell to the floor with a cry.
Rachel and Peter hurried to help her. “Jessa, are you alright?”
