The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 535

Fiona let out a dry laugh. “So now Mr. Harmon finally shows up. Funny how he never bothered before, but suddenly he’s desperate to see you.”

Still, Fiona always respected Ella. “Ella, it’s your call. Do you want to see David?”

Ella rested her hand over her belly. “I’ve talked to him about everything that happened. There’s nothing left between us. I don’t want to see him. Just ask him to leave.”

Lilly nodded. “Alright.”

She pulled open the apartment door and faced David. “Mr. Harmon, please go. Ella doesn’t want to see you.”

David’s voice was rough, almost pleading. “Did you tell her I have something to say?”

“I did. But Ella said the past is already settled. It’s over between you two. There’s nothing more to talk about.”

Over? The word hit David hard. He shook his head. “It’s not over. Let me in. I’ll talk to her myself.”

“Mr. Harmon, Ella’s pregnant. She needs peace, and she doesn’t want to see you. Please don’t push this.”

Lilly closed the door without another word.

She walked back to the living room. “Ella, I told Mr. Harmon.”

Ella nodded quietly. “Thanks.”

Just then, her phone buzzed with a video call from Grandma Chelsea.

Ella had always thought of Grandma Chelsea as her own family, so she answered right away.

Grandma Chelsea’s warm smile filled the screen. “Ella, did you get enough rest today? Is the baby behaving?”

She was the best grandmother anyone could ask for.

Ella made up her mind right then. No matter what happened with David, it would never change the bond between her baby and Grandma Chelsea.

She smiled. “I understand, Grandma. You should get some rest. I’ll look after myself and the baby.”

Grandma Chelsea nodded. “Good.”

They ended the call. Ella was just about to set her phone down when it started ringing again, the familiar tune filling the room.

This time, the caller ID flashed David’s name.

He was calling her.
