The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 570

Ella nodded. “Yes, I can help Jessa. I can cure her.”

Moss let out a breath he’d been holding. “That’s great news.”

“But,” Ella said, turning her eyes to Moss, “I’ll need something in order to make the antidote.”

“What is it? Tell me, and I’ll have someone bring it right away.”

A small, knowing smile played on Ella’s lips. “I need blood from one of Jessa’s closest relatives.”

Blood from a close relative? The words hit Rachel hard. Her face paled.

“I’m Jessa’s father,” Moss said immediately. “She’s my daughter. Use my blood.”

“No!” Rachel’s voice cut through the room, sharper than she meant. “You can’t use Mr. Wade’s blood!”

Ella looked at Rachel, taking in her panic. “Why not? Don’t you want to save Jessa?”

With Ella and Moss both staring at her, Rachel realized she’d let her emotions slip. She couldn’t allow Moss' blood to be used. If it was, everything about Jessa’s parentage would come out.

“Mr. Wade, your health is too important,” Rachel said quickly, searching for any reason. “It’s not safe to use your blood. Ella, I don’t trust your methods. Why do you need his blood? For all I know, you’re trying to harm both Mr. Wade and Jessa.”

Ella looked exasperated. “This is the only way to save Jessa. If you don’t trust me, I’m just gonna leave.”

Moss stepped in. “Ella, I trust you. Use my blood.”

“No, Mr. Wade! You can’t risk it. Ella, take mine instead!”

Ella turned to Rachel. “That won’t help. Jessa isn’t your biological child. I need a real relative’s blood.”

Rachel’s eyes darted, her lips pressed tight. She could’t say anything else.

Moss spoke up, firm and steady. “Ella, use my blood.”

Ella nodded. “Alright, Mr. Wade. Please roll up your sleeve. I’ll get what I need.”

He never expected to see Moss holding her like this.

David strode over, his gaze fixed on Ella. “What are you doing?”

He reached out, his long fingers wrapping around Ella’s arm, ready to pull her toward him.

Moss refused to let go, his own grip firm on Ella’s other arm.

Both men stood there, each holding onto her, neither willing to back down.

David glared at Moss. “Uncle Moss, let her go.”

Moss gave a low, amused laugh. “David, what if I don’t want to?”

David’s temper flared. “Uncle Moss, are you serious right now? Ella is the same age as your daughter!”

Moss just smiled, even more amused. “I know. Ella and Jessa are the same age. So what?”
