The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 571

“So, don’t you think it’s kind of… inappropriate to hold onto Ella like this?”

It was the first time in his life anyone had ever called Moss that. He could only stare, speechless.

The butler leaned in and whispered, “Mr. Harmon, please mind your words.”

Rachel couldn’t believe what she was witnessing. Never in a million years did she think she’d see Moss, the richest man in the world, and David, the hottest new business star, both grabbing onto the same woman. It looked like they were actually about to fight over Ella.

Rachel quickly figured out the misunderstanding. David thought Moss was interested in Ella. There were always plenty of beautiful young girls, who would rush to get close to Moss. The age difference didn’t matter.

But Moss was Ella’s father.

Rachel felt like she had entered some upside-down universe.

Meanwhile, Ella’s head was spinning even more. Did either of these men even care about how she felt? She started struggling to break free. “Let go of me, both of you!”

David shot Moss a look. “You heard her. Ella wants you to let go.”

Moss kept his grip. “Pretty sure she was talking to you.”

David scowled. “You—”

Ella cut them both off. “I want both of you to let go!”

David glanced at Moss, clearly not happy about it. “Alright, Ella says both of us. I’ll count to three. We let go together.”

Moss nodded silently.

“One, two, three…”

They released her at the same time.

Ella’s knees gave out and she started to sink to the floor.

David reacted instantly, catching her before she could fall. He cradled her in his arms. “Ella, are you alright?”

“I saw him holding you,” David said, his voice tight and a little jealous.

Ella stared at him, completely baffled. “What are you even thinking? Mr. Wade is an elder. I got dizzy, so he helped me. That’s it.”

She had no idea what was running through David’s mind.

Of course David felt threatened. Ella attracted attention wherever she went. Who knew what Moss really thought of her?

“Just helping you?” David pressed. “Uncke Moss isn’t exactly known for being a nice guy. He’s cold to everyone.”

David knew Moss’ reputation. Moss hardly ever interacted with Ella, and when he did, he always seemed distant. But David couldn’t shake the feeling that Moss was different with her.

Before Ella could answer, Moss' calm voice came from the doorway. “David, I’m standing right here. Are you talking about me?”

Moss had followed them and was now standing in the doorway, watching them.

David turned to glare at him, giving him the kind of look you’d give a rival.
