The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 597

Lilly looked him in the eyes. “Jace, I know you care about me.”

She wasn’t asking, just telling him how it was.

Jace went still.

“Don’t bother denying it. I already know. If you say otherwise, you’re just lying. Jace, you like me. And I like you too.”

She tipped her head up and pressed her lips to his.

Jace was caught off guard. He hadn’t expected her to be so bold. He tried to push her away. “Lilly…”

It didn’t work. Lilly wrapped her arms around his neck, holding him tight. As he said her name, she only kissed him deeper.

Her lips were soft and sweet, and her tongue slipped into the kiss, teasing and demanding all at once.

Jace didn’t have much experience with this kind of thing. Her boldness made his whole body tingle. His lower back went numb, and the feeling shot through his arms and legs. His ears burned red.

Lilly kissed him like she meant it, tasting the wild, burning flavor of the liquor on his lips. It was intoxicating, impossible to resist.

Jace finally managed to pull away. “Lilly, what are you doing?”

Her lips were slick and pink from the kiss. They were so close, and her long lashes trembled. “Did you ever kiss Lilian?”

She wanted to know if he’d kissed Lilian.

Jace didn’t answer. He tried to loosen her grip from his neck.

But Lilly stood on her tiptoes and bit his lip.

Jace frowned, his voice rough. “Lilly, don’t. Someone might see us.”

He didn’t want her to keep going.

Lilly let go of his lip, then leaned in and bit his neck.

“Jace, if you push me to another man, I really will leave. Are you okay with that?”

Of course he wasn’t.

How could he ever be okay with that?

But…

Lilly hugged him tight. “Jace, I don’t believe anything you said before. I don’t think you’d just move on from me. There’s no way you’d be with Lilian unless you had a good reason. Can you tell me what’s going on? I’m not afraid of problems. If we’re together, we can face anything.”

Her words broke down every wall he’d tried to build. He’d said so many cold, hurtful things, but she never believed them.

She trusted him completely.

But could he really tell her everything?
