The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 607

Tears slid down Lilly’s cheeks as she pressed her face against Tiffany’s hand. “I’m so grateful I met you, and Victoria, and Jace,” she whispered.

Tiffany gave a faint smile. “I haven’t seen Jace in days.”

Before she could finish, she was wracked by a fierce cough. Each breath seemed harder than the last, and then she coughed up blood.

“Tiffany!”

“Mom!”

Lilly and Victoria rushed to her side. Lilly’s voice shook. “I’ll get a doctor right now!”

But Tiffany held her back. “Lilly, don’t bother. I know my own body. My time’s almost up. I can feel it.”

Victoria’s tears wouldn’t stop. She clung to her mother’s side, sobbing. “Mom…”

Lilly’s vision blurred with tears. She leaned in, voice trembling. “Tiffany, do you want to see Jace? One last time?”

Tiffany nodded, her eyes shining with longing. “Yes.”

Lilly stood up fast, determination in her every move. “I’ll find him. Please hold on, I promise I’ll bring him back.”

She hurried out of the hospital, dialing Jace’s number as soon as she hit the street, but his phone went straight to voicemail. He’d turned it off.

Where could he be?

Desperate, she called her father. “Dad, I need you to find Jace for me. Right now. It’s urgent.”

Her tone told him there was no time to waste. Mr. Lynch got to work, and not long after, he called her back. “Lilly, Jace is at the mall. He’s shopping with some girl.”

Lilly’s heart dropped. That had to be Lilian.

Jace was out shopping with Lilian?

She didn’t stop to think—she just raced toward the mall.

Jace froze, glancing once at the fitting room door before striding over to her. “Lilly? What’s going on?”

She grabbed his hand, urgent and sincere. “Jace, you need to come with me. Right now.”

He looked confused. “Where are we going?”

Lilly met his eyes. “It’s your mom. She’s… she doesn’t have much time left.”

The words knocked the wind out of him. For a moment, he just stared, but then he snapped into action, gripping Lilly’s hand and running out of the store.

They made it back to the hospital as fast as they could. Jace hurried into the room. Victoria saw him and burst into tears. “Jace!”

Jace rushed to Tiffany’s side, dropping to his knees. “Mom!”

Tiffany reached out and he took her hand right away, holding on like he could stop her from slipping away. “Mom, what happened? You were doing okay before…”

Tiffany smiled at him, her expression gentle. “Jace, don’t be sad. I’m just going to see your father now.”
