The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 640

David arrived in Country F. Three years had passed since anyone had seen him, and in that time, his striking features had become even sharper, like they’d been sketched by a master artist. His tailored suit fit perfectly, highlighting his strong, lean frame. As he walked through the busy hall, his calm confidence and air of authority drew glances from everyone around him.

Aiden followed close behind, lowering his voice as he gave his report. “Sir, I’ve checked everywhere. There’s no trace of Ms. Irvine here. She isn’t in Country F.”

David paused in front of the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, staring out at the world beyond. “I’ve spent three years traveling from city to city, searching for Ella. It’s like she just vanished. No matter where I go or how hard I look, I can’t find her.”

Three years ago, Ella had left with Wyatt, riding off in his luxury car. Since then, she’d disappeared completely.

David had never stopped looking for her.

Now, even here in Country F, he’d found nothing, not a single clue. It was as if Ella had been erased from the world.

Aiden spoke again. “Sir, the private jet is ready. We should head out soon. Tomorrow, you need to be back in the Capital for the Emerald Banquet.”

David nodded. “Alright. I understand.”

With no sign of Ella here, he had no reason to stay.

Just then, his phone rang. The familiar ringtone echoed in the hall.

He pulled his phone from his pocket and saw it was his mother calling.

He answered, trying to sound steady. “Hi, Mom…”

Meanwhile, on a bench nearby, little Lola was playing with a snow globe. It was a birthday gift from her mommy, and she loved it more than anything.

But suddenly, the snow globe slipped from her tiny hands, rolled off the bench, and tumbled across the floor.

“Oh no, my snow globe!” Lola gasped, jumping up to chase after it.

“Sir, you stepped on my snow globe,” she said again, her voice trembling.

David quickly lifted his foot. “Oh no, I’m so sorry. I didn’t see it, I promise.”

But it was too late. The snow globe had cracked under his shoe.

“My snow globe… you broke it…” Lola sniffled, scooping it up in her small hands. Her favorite toy was ruined. Her lips began to quiver, and before David knew it, big tears were rolling down her cheeks.

David panicked. He crouched down in front of her, his voice gentle. “Hey, please don’t cry. I really didn’t mean to break it. I’m so sorry. Can I make it up to you?”

He had never seen such a small child cry before, and it’s because of something he’d done. The tears kept coming, and David felt completely helpless.

Lola was heartbroken. “This was my birthday present from Mommy… it was my favorite… and now it’s broken…” Her little voice wobbled as she sobbed.
