The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 641

David reached out and gently wiped the tears from Lola’s cheeks. “Hey there, how about I buy you a new one, okay?”

Lola shook her head, her voice small and stubborn. “I don’t want a new one. I just want the one Mommy gave me.”

David wasn’t used to comforting kids and it showed. He fumbled for the right words, looking lost. “Um, where’s your mommy? I can help you find her.”

Lola sniffled, her eyes watery. “My mommy isn’t here.”

David let out a quiet sigh, feeling a bit helpless. “Alright, come here. I’ll carry you and we’ll find your mommy and daddy together.”

He picked Lola up. She was so light, like holding a little bundle of cotton. She relaxed in his arms, feeling safe.

Lola gazed up at David, her tears drying up. He was so tall and handsome, and he held her higher than Papa Wyatt ever did.

“If your mommy isn’t here, where’s your daddy? You didn’t come out here all by yourself, did you?”

Lola gave him a shy smile. “I didn’t come alone.”

Just then, Wyatt’s voice echoed through the crowd. He had just bought some candy and came back to find Lola missing from her seat. Now he was calling out, sounding worried. “Lola… Lola…”

Lola’s eyes lit up. “That’s my daddy. He’s looking for me.”

David quickly lowered her to the ground. Lola waved at him with her tiny hand. “Bye.”

David smiled at her, his lips curling up. “Next time we meet, I’ll make sure to get you a new snow globe.”

“Okay,” Lola promised, and she took off running.

David watched her little figure dart away until she reached Wyatt. “Papa Wyatt!”

When David caught a glimpse of Wyatt’s back, his heart skipped a beat. Was that really Wyatt?

On the other side of the airport, Wyatt was holding Lola close, staying hidden until he was sure David had left. Only then did he step out from behind the pillar, still holding Lola in his arms.

Wyatt had recognized David instantly. He never expected to run into him here, of all places.

Lola’s voice was soft and curious. “Papa Wyatt, why were we hiding? Were we hiding from that handsome mister?”

Wyatt looked at her, trying to keep his expression gentle. “Lola, how did you meet him?”

Lola pointed at her broken toy. “My snow globe rolled over to him and he accidentally stepped on it.”

Wyatt couldn’t help but feel a strange twist of fate. Ella had worked so hard to keep David away. She didn’t want David to know about Lola. But fate had a way of making its own plans. Somehow, Lola and David had crossed paths at last.

Father and daughter were meeting face to face for the first time.
